Hotel Garni Golf

The hosts were wonderful- friendly happy and knowledgeable. The rooms were spacious and spotless and everything worked perfectly. The position was magic - just a stone’s throw from the lake promenade. So convenient. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with fruit, cheeses, meats, jams , yoghurts bread, croissants etc etc. when we left they even gave us a loaf of their marvellous Ticino bread to take home. A wonderful 4 days!

My room towards the mountainside was quiet and bright. But the opposite rooms towards the little street can be a bit noisy and also don't have much sunlight

Easy to reach by foot from the bus station Ascona Centro. A few steps away from the promenade in Ascona with restaurants, bars and the lakefront. Clean room and good facilities. I appreciated the espresso machine in the room and the Nespresso capsules. The staff goes the extra mile to make guests feel comfortable and welcome. On arrival, I got a bottle of complimentary sparkling water, as it was a hot day. On departure, a small bottle of prosecco. Excellent breakfast; I particularly enjoyed the fresh fruits. I definitely would stay here again when in Ascona.

The room had no view, but that was not really an issue.

Very nice location in the middle of the center of Ascona. Beautiful bathroom and spacious room with comfortable bed and air conditioning. Breakfast was delicious and we also got special bread from Maggia Valley as well as ham from the Maggia valley offered. There were also sweet fresh fruits.

The parking situation could be a bit better. If you park at the car-silo next to the coop you have to get a ticket from the reception and then drive out of the parking and back into the parking again to make the ticket valid. If you do this in 30min the first ticket is for free. Then it costs 18 CHF/day paid at the reception when you check out. There would be an option to drive to the Hotel by car for luggage transport, make sure you ask them beforehand how it works.

A very familiar place with nice, personal and helpful treatment. The room is simple but totally ok and clean, the breakfast is spectacular and obviously prepared with love (and especially for cheese). It is in the second row to the lake. You can drive close to the hotel with your reservation to un/load your luggage, and as I have a big car, the owner even drove my car to a free outdoor parking just a short walk from the hotel.

I thought there would be view to the lake, but there wasn't. I guess I didn't read the description good enough.

Location: one minute literally from the lake, Really quiet with great views. The staff: Rita and Giuseppe were amazing hosts , helpful and kind and they gifted us amazing house-made bread when we left. Kind and friendly . Overall an amazing experience

Everything was up to standard. The only thing I would change would be the pillows, I like firm pillows and the pillows were soft. That was a personal preference

The room was spacious and nice, it gave to a courtyard, where we would have breakfast. That was really a treat, having breakfast outside. Great breakfast too! And the owners are very sweet, at the end one had the impression that you were visiting friends instead of being in a hotel.

Beds were too soft for me.

We were told about a Ticino card and asked for it. Unfortunately we forgot to ask the reception about the QR codes and had to pay full price by some activities. I would recommend that the reception makes a better follow up on this.

We had various family members meeting here and had booked 3 rooms. Perfect location meters from the lake front. Fabulous hosts: very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed including booking taxis, sorting parking out etc. Will definitely stay again when visiting family in Switzerland. Thank you for having us!

My stay was excellent! Rita and Giuseppe are amazing Host: very warm people, always smiling and very helpful. Giuseppe prepared every morning fresh delicious breakfast: different breads, croissants, fruit and veggies, eggs, charcuterie, local fresh cut cheese, homemade jams, yoghurt and all variations of coffee and tee. The location is perfect: 10m away from the lake, very central and very well connected to the small villages around and Locarno. I used only the public transport.
