Renuka City Hotel

Amazing infinity pool pointing West with the Colombo sea just in front with a perfect view of the sunset. Located just 10 minutes by Tuktuk from One Galle Face.

The facilities of the hotel are a little bit out-dated, but aligned with similar level hotels. The seaview from the room is a little bit underwhelming, as the hotel is not on the first row of the sea.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, all services available. All types of food available in the restaurant.Excellent location, easily accessible to all amenities!

Heart of town, budget hotel, tired interiors which come with this price tag £50 per night. Good wifi Room service staff very good. Swimming pool excellent as is the glass house gym, although no air conditioning, which makes it a sauna as well!

Refuse a room around 1st floor stair case as it is the main walkway to gym, pool and directly above reception, where you will hear customers arguing with staff at all hours. Some tight practices like charging for additional coffee sachets!!! Filthy fridge which is not working. Asked for safe battery to be changed as it was saying low battery, told it would be done, but they fail to do over our stay. Did eat at hotel as food hall in basement.

As always in Sri Lanka, great people that will help you at anytime. Good, clean hotel with really good restaurant.

The location was excellent for me because I needed to be central to Colombo 3 & 4/5 and was near a bank, supermarket and a post office. I did not take the Sri Lankan breakfast because it had been out since 6.30am and I would only eat freshly cooked food. The room was fine although I had problems with some plug sockets. The service for a lone traveller was kind and attentive, always available 24 hours whenever I needed help, even late at night. Unfortunately travel companies will only use expensive 4/5 star hotel chains, which are very impersonal and do not give a friendly personal service or good value for money. I will try to recommend you to my travel agents.

I was concerned that the plug sockets near the TV did not always work properly and I was worried about a fire risk. The left hand top brown coloured curtain on the larger main window had come off its runners where it met the right hand curtain. The shower floor could get quite slippery during a shower and I was worried about falling. Lastly, I could not work out how to make the fridge to remain on when I was out of the room and the key was removed from its holder.

A lovely hotel that has a long and distinguished history on the Colombo sea front. The staff were extremely helpful and the view from the roof top pool as the sun sinks into the Ocean is glorious! They have one of the best and most authentic Sri Lankan restaurants in Colombo. The late 4pm check out option on our room was a really big plus as it was perfect time for us to get to the airport checkin to make our flight. Id give a high recommendation of this excellent hotel.

If I had just one gripe it would be that the (big) buffet breakfast is perhaps a tad on the expensive side if you are only having an omelet and not wanting an enormous curry fuelled start to the day!

Our stay here was really great, the staff here were so friendly and so helpful, the service felt very personal. The hotel has all the facilities you could need: restaurant with traditional food, good breakfast, rooftop pool and bar with sea views. The rooms were really comfortable and spacious. It was great to see that they are environmentally concious and reduce plastic waste as much as possible. There are some sights in walking distance (if you don't mind the sri lankan heat!) and plenty of shops and other restaurants available close by too. Would highly recommend staying here.

One of the best hotels in Colombo. The place is worth every single penny, initially, when I went to check in the room by 4 am the AC was not working immediately my thoughts were that it lacked proper quality but to my surprise, people came immediately even to that time, and within minutes it was rectified, from then on till 3 days I had a wonderful stay. it's in the main location and everything is easily accessible from this hotel. Beach is within walking distance and can be seen from the balcony and lots of eateries and shopping markets nearby. The food was amazing here..any staying here should try their Palmyrah restaurant.. Excellent Quality food at a very reasonable price... Overall had a Very Pleasant stay here...Kudos to the team...

The Wifi Speed could be better. It was Very Slow. Some Ants in the Table area where the Kettle and the Amenteites are Kept. It can be avoided with proper Pest Control.. Rest Everything was excellent

Gym was small but enough equipment to get in a decent workout. Staff were really friendly and helpful, food was good at the restaurant. Pool was nice. Room was basic but had pretty much everything you need. Location was good

Restaurant was only open at specific times during the day, and theres no bar so you couldnt just go at anytime to have a drink or somewhere just to relax. You could get room service though so that was ok. Was there during the sinhala/tamil new year so a lot of things were closed in the area, not the fault of the hotel but something to be aware of. No major issues with the place in particular, but i do feel it was a bit expensive and did have higher expectations for the price. No where to hang your clothes to dry
