Burwood Motel

Working AC, easy internet and TV setup, everything I could want was there, complimentary hot chocolate and coffee with milk was great.

For the price, everything was great, and everything that mattered was clean (bedding, shower, basin, toilet, kitchen) and functional, but beyond that a lot of things felt neglected, like security catches on the window were broken, back door was hard to lock (and was unlocked when I arrived) window shade pull tab missing, kettle looked gross inside (I assume a previous guest brewed coffee inside the kettle), shower head slider partially broken, bathroom heater missing pull switch, shower hose dirty, slightly unpleasant odor in bathroom, seals around shower covered in calcium build up and silicone mould.

The room and bed was spacious, tidy and comfortable. Daily service maintained the room and returning each day to tidy space added to the relaxation after a long day of work training. Great bathroom and kitchenette. Guest laundry facilities were convenient and affordable. I Would not hesitate to stay again in future.

Clean comfortable room & beds, clean bathroom, good 👍 shower, clean neat kitchen. Close to Burger King which my grandson was happy about. Loved Sky Sport TV & Netflix which my grandson enjoyed watching movies while the adults watch live Sky Sport. Hence why I booked 2 studio units. Will definitely come back here & stay again.

Heat pump was noisy so turned it off.

Appreciate the renovations in the bathroom and main room. Even though stuff was from Kmart, it was better than some places that never got out of the 80's and 90's. The bed for 2 was small (double??) which seems odd for a motel honestly. The single bed was so hard I didn't even attempt to sleep on it. TV and a/c worked well, no problems with wifi. Parking was numbered so that was helpful, always able to park right in front of the door. Reception was friendly, was able to drop the key in a box and head out. Couldn't hear anyone next to us even though there was someone there. There were some loud people outside of that room well after 9/10pm one night but they finally left.

There were a lot of hard water stains and buildup, especially at the base of the shower (and even outside of it on the glass!?). That's really something that should be cleaned up because it's very noticeable. The shower head sprayed everywhere. Again, a hard brush would resolve that and some vinegar. If they would just keep up with it, it'd never become a problem. Blurry photo but you get the idea. Had that not been there, the bathroom would've been spotless. It was built up around the faucet and even on top of it and of course around the waste. The walls in the room had some stains and greasy areas on them and lots of dust buildup under the table along the kickboard.

Very quiet, a few streets back from the township but a close drive to food, entertainment, and shops. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was a good size (I hate pokey bathrooms). Good soundproofing and the aircon was a godsend in the surprising heat. Staff were very polite.

Nothing, it fitted all our needs for the trip.

The room was really big and spacious, the kitchenette had everything we needed and so did the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and there was extra and heating blankets if we needed them which we did. Parking right at the door and very quiet.

A lot of cold air coming through from the kitchen so perhaps a door or a curtain to keep the bedroom warm.

Clean rooms and amenities, staff was really helpful and friendly and we enjoyed our stay. The shower pressure was strong and we had plenty of additional blankets and a heater as well as the heat pump so the rooms were happily nice and warm for us during a winter night.

Minor complaint that the double bed was too hard for us.

The staff are so lovely and attentive. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable, and the sheets were crisp and clean. I'm a repeat guest purely for the pillows and linen that is used. They do the small things well; like having your room warm when you check in.

If others on the property were showering at the same time the water pressure was sometimes inconsistent, but it wasn't a big deal.

The bathrooms are modern and clean - the rooms and beds were spacious and comfortable. everyday our rooms were serviced - so we had clean towels and extra toilet paper. laundry (washing machine and dryer) is shared but free to use - you take your own detergent which is expected. staff were very friendly and I really enjoyed our stay. thank you so much

nothing - if I go back to Whanganui I will definitely try and stay here again

Good value if you're looking for somewhere inexpensive, centrally located, and comfortable.

I can't really fault it. It had all the basic necessities and I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel. A laundry room is also available which is convenient.
