Van der Valk Hotel Breda

Very comfortable bed! Amazing bathroom, very modern

We had asked days ahead if one of our rooms could be ready early to get changed to go to a wedding. This was acknowledged via messages and they would do their best. At arrival (12.30) however, there was no room available and nothing was mentioned about the request. We needed to ask ourselves proactively where we could change. No big deal, and it wasnt guaranteed we would be able to enter the room, but a recognition at reception or advice proactively would have been nice instead of asking again.

The hotel provided an excellent base for us to travel across the region and visit Breda. We loved the pool and the fitness area and made use of the terraces as the weather was great. The staff were really helpful and approachable and were able to deal with my allergies. We had a comfortable room with the facilities we expected. The room was cleaned to a high standard and we were happy with the daily cleaning too. We would definitely return.

A very nice and clean hotel with all the facilities you could desire. A great pool with sauna and steam room, a gym and a large dinning room and bar mean the hotel is a great stay for any visit to Breda or the surrounding area. The staff were very friendly and quick to help replace a faulty part with the bath within our room to ensure we were able to enjoy all of the facilities. We would highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

Although the pool was very nice and a great asset. We did find the lack of any staff checking the facilities a little concerning, more so due to the behaviour of other guests. However, this was only a slight question mark for us. Everything else was as we had expected and ensured that we enjoyed a great stay at the hotel.

A wonderful stay at this hotel, probably one of the best quality/value hotel i've been to! The room is spacious and nice, the swimming pool is a proper one, the hammam is great!

The customer service was not good at all times. at the bar i had to wait about 15 mins to be served even if the bar was almost empty and the barman saw me waiting. And at the breakfast buffet i also received some poor service because i asked for a soy latte. Otherwise the service from all other staff was great!

I needed to charge my Norwegian electric car, a Volvo. I chose the Van der Valk with this as a key criteria. I could find no way to use the non-Tesla charging points, as I did not have a tag from the supplier, so I had the indignity of visiting the McDonalds site nearby. A charging point activated by a contactless charge card (and one that is not issued by a Dutch bank, a problem had more than once in the Netherlands) would be much appreciated.

Sauna, swimming pool and fitness was amazing. Bar and restaurant staff was very welcoming and friendly. Room was extremely clean and comfortable, no noise, we slept amazing. Restaurant food was next level!

Reception staff was unwelcoming. They barely made any eye contact both with check in and check out, barely spoke, rushed through the whole process. It was like having two robots. They really do not match face of the hotel and should learn a thing or two from bar and restaurant staff members!

Arrived late but were welcomed with a smile and the receptionist was able to book us in to the restaurant for a late dinner. The maître d'hôtel made sure we had a good table and all the waiting staff were very helpful. The food at dinner and breakfast was excellent. The decor is amazing. The bed was so comfortable I had the best night's sleep I've had in over a year! Would love to stay again.

The room was of a good size, very clean. Everything I needed for my trip was in the room already. Two complimentary bottles of water in the mini fridge was a nice touch. Ironing board, Iron, shoe shine in the wardrobe.

The pricing in the bar of a Jack & Coke was 10 Euro's. Bit steep, but that's the only complaint and is probably expected at a Hotel of this standard.

Good location close to Breda and easy access to main highways. Large number of EV charging units. Spacious room and comfortable bed. Modern fully equipped batchroom. Good Wifi connection. Well functioning airconditioning

Upon arrival in the room there were no tea/coffee cups and the refrigerator was empty. I found the price relatively high.

Stayed in a luxury and very spacious room with open bathroom. High end finish and materials. Very good breakfast buffet with lots of choice, excellent restaurant.

Tables in the restaurant were close to each other, which made me part of other people's conversations. Fun pastime, but probably not what the neighbors expected.
