Hotel Everest Nepal

What a fantastic stay. Excellent, friendly, happy staff. We stayed for 3 weeks and were always given more tea, coffee, water and other bits for the room, free of charge. We were there during the low-season, so some renovation was taking place, and the staff constantly kept us up to date and moved us to a quieter room without us even asking. Really considerate! Breakfast was great every day, and had a few options to choose from. The area is away from the crazier parts of the city, but close to loads of great cafes and restaurants. Nice and quiet when you want it to be, but really close to the chaos if that's what you prefer. Really pleasant area to walk around, and felt safe at night too. We had great assistance with airport transfers and a trip to Pokhara at great prices. We got sick towards the end of our stay (unrelated to the hotel!) and the staff were all really helpful and making sure we felt better. Really felt at home here. We have travelled around Asia for a few months so far, and the Nepalese (and specifically those at the hotel) are amongst the best people we have met. Special thanks to Mani, the owner, who went out of his way to constantly make sure we were happy and just have a chat over some tea now and again.

Definitely the best place to stay in Thamel! We had a pleasure to stay there 2 times - before and after trekking ACT. The staff are so kind and friendly people. They are always ready to help with any problems and to advice about travelling in Nepal. The rooms are spacious and clean, with really comfortable beds, especially after long flight or bus ride. Included Nepali-style breakfast was fresh and tasty every day. Located in the heart of Thamel, but not directly by the busy and loud main streets. I had an opportunity to book an airport transfer which was on-time, comfortable and reasonably-priced. So many reasons to choose Hotel Everest Nepal! Thank you for your sincere hospitality. Nothing to complain about

Great location. In Thames but in a quiet side street, still with lots of eating/drinking options very close by. Staff were lovely, owner Mani was very helpful and desk guys were great. Special shout out to Arbin (hope I got that right!) who was always smiley and welcoming. Cleaning staff did fantastic job. Room was well appointed with tv and comfy bed, also a desk and chair was a nice touch. Balcony nice for fresh air and great view from the roof. Would happily recommend and stay again.

The hot water situation could be a bit temperamental. They will need to sort this before the cold weather arrives.

When I was travelling around Nepal, Hotel Everest was my base whenever I passed through Kathmandu. Excellent location close to all the attractions of Thamel but on a quiet side street with none of the noise. The staff are super helpful and you can leave gear there if you go trekking or on a trip where you don't need all your stuff. Like most hotels, they also have a travel desk where you can book bus and flight tickets.

Didn't affect the quality of my stay but worth being aware that some of the photos they show on the hotel profile are a little old. For example, the balcony shown wasn't open for use by guests.

When I first arrived in Kathmandu I was seeking a value hotel in town. I believe honestly that Hotel Everest is the best value for your money in all of Kathmandu! From the kind staff that have no accommodated me so well, I feel like they are a second family. The breakfasts, the rooms, the hot shower, the assistance - everything is fantastic. I will always stay here when I am visiting Kathmandu! Thank you Mani Arbin Himal and team!

This review was long overdue. I absolutely enjoyed my stay at the property. Everything was well managed and the location was great too. I got lucky as despite being a solo traveler, I got the biggest room. What really stood out for me was the hospitality. Both the managers, Mani and Arjun had been really kind and helpful. Their generosity made me fall more in love with Nepal and its people. I tried 3 different properties during my stay in Kathmandu and this was my absolute favorite, and that I think says a lot. I would highly recommend them to anyone planning to travel to Nepal

The staff of the hotel was very friendly and helpful, well above what I had expected. This is a great place to stay in Kathmandu, the area is quiet, although in the centre of Thamel. It is also surrounded by good restaurants, cafes, shops and places where you can book trekking trips. I definitely recommend this hotel and will stay there for my next time in Kathmandu. I booked 1 night and extended for another 1 night because the bed feels so comfortable and smells fresh. The location is walkable to the main street and other tourist spots. It is also away from night bars and clubs so you'll get a nice peaceful rest...The staff are very accomodating and helpful especially Yashoda who helped me get cheaper taxi to my next destination during a rainy afternoon.

.Location is in a quiet neighborhood, while having only a 5 minute walk to Thamel shops and restaurants. The wifi is excellent. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Will help with any issue that rises. Particularly the manager, Arjun. Who tells me...This is your home. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast included. Each room has a small deck.Lots of light and air. Now? The accommodating details that show care.The room key was easy to use. The attractive double curtains ensure privacy from the windows of surrounding hotels.. One layer of curtains is light blocking and the other semi sheer. Computer desk is always welcome!! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this very international hotel! Arjun speaks 5 languages.
