Maison Bacalar

This is almost a new place, with high ceilings and lots of windows. It's VERY comfortable, and has great air conditioning. I was hoping for a better view as one of the photos showed a view of the water, but there was a palm tree in the way. If they could move the palm tree, there would be a much nicer view, lol. I requested a different room for the 2nd day, and the manager made the switch! The location is pretty good as you can just take a walk down to the beach, or hop in a $2 cab ride to the public park/dock along the water. The Manager/Owner was VERY QUICK to respond to anything I asked about or needed and offered some great suggestions of places to go - including a massage parlor for approx $40.

They may want to add a suitcase stand or somewhere to put your open suitcase so it doesn't have to be on your bed. And maybe improve the front yards a bit.

Flora was wonderful. her spirit was everywhere. She gave us so many helpful tips concerning restaurants, breakfast and trips to go. The rooms were very clean, in the morning you could make yourself a coffee or tea. we could park our car on the street in front of the house. Thanks once more Flora.

Too far away from the center. 30 min to walk but with a car no problem.

We loved everything! Maison is brand new guest house with 6 rooms only what makes it really special. Located in beautiful garden full of singing birds🙂 Rooms are specious, beds very comfortable, everything spotless. And on the top of that is Flor, the owner and wonderful host. Very helpful and warm person. Thank you for all your help Flor!😘

The hostess was very kind and helpful. We got a lot of good advice. The shower was perfect, the bed was comfortable. There was a small area to sit out in a tastefully arranged garden.

A bit more lagguage place. The road to the hotel was very bumpy, but this is common in Mexico anyway.

The beds were super comfortable and the host super nice and always aware of her guests and what they needed. Very helpful and recommended a lot of cool things to do in the area.

Host was really kind and supportive. The food recommendations were awesome.

The recommended taxi driver was way more expensive than any other taxi drivers. Don’t drive with him, just choose randomly any other taxi.

Super kind host, new clean rooms and went to sleep with the sound of crickets.

It's a 30 min. walk to the centre, but there are ample taxis available.

Great service & lovely decorated apartments & garden

It is a new facility. The owner was friendly. It was quiet and has good bathroom. Shower is great. Wifi seemed good. Bottom rooms have a small patio with a table and chair for eating, but no view of the water; and eating area it's very small.

The reviews mislead me, it was nice but overrated - all 9 & 10's! The Hotel is a 20 minutes walk to town center- partly on an awful rutted road. The hotel is very small and has tight walkway and no place central to move around or sit - just one bench. It feels cramped. Bottom rooms have no view. Morning coffee not set out sometimes...just nescafe and packets of fake cream...nothing real.
