Hotel el Descanso

What a great hotel in a beautiful city. The building itself is very historical and beautifully maintained. My room was super comfortable and clean, and great value. The hotel has an excellent location in Puebla, less than two blocks to the main square, yet it was always peaceful, especially at night. The staff were always friendly and helpful with advice on what to do in and around the city. I liked it so much that I ended up staying 10 days rather than the original 2 days I booked. I have to say that I don't their photos do the place justice, I thought it was much nicer than I expected once I arrived.

The room came with a handwashing and sink area, with enough space for toiletries, which were changed regularly by the maid. The shower was lovely and warm and the staff very helpful.

the wifi didn't reach the room at all, although it was good downstairs- they need another network or more routers.

The hotel is very pretty and charming. It has a nice patio. The location is just amazing, you are literally 1 min walking from the main square. A lot of restaurants nearby. We liked it so much that we stayed a night extra.

The walls are very thin. So you can hear when your neighbors are having a nice evening 😂

the room’s glass door meant it got bright very early. if you can’t arrive before 8pm you have to bank transfer a deposit in advance to reserve your room (although we messaged and said we’d be arriving between 7-9pm and that was ok)

The location is great, right in the city center. The public area of the hotel is nicely decorated and very inviting. The room is clean and comfortable. Very good value for money.

The washroom has some detergent / bleach smell.

Really beautiful building and ambience. A couple of blocks to the Zocalo. Really comfortable rooms and lovely bathroom looking out into the courtyard

There was a bit of noise which would echo through even if the talking wasn't particularly loud.

The walls are thin (room 16) and therefore it feels like you are in the same room as your neighbour.

The room was big, clean and very comfortable. The staff speaks English. There is a very nice terrace and the location is just perfect
