Hotel Excelsior Ipoh

1. Daily housekeeping and making up of room. No issues with it. 2. Toilet/Bathroom is bright and spacious. 3. Room is quiet with a good view. 4. Aircon is cold. 5. Security is very good. When using the lift, need to first scan the room card in order to access the level of the room. There is always some staff/ security personnel at the glass entrance of the hotel. 6. Overall the hotel is in a decent state of upkeep.

1. Internet access through the Wi-fi can be intermittent. Sometimes there is only Wi-fi signal but no internet. 2. A couple of the LED downlights not working. 3. Circuit-breaker box makes very loud clacking noises at times. It also makes similar noises when the card is removed from the slot while leaving the room.

The location and environment of the apartment is good. It's very quiet and the scenery is also beautiful. The rooms are very comfortable and the scenery from the balcony is very nice.

The water heater isn't good, it's usable but not up to satisfaction. The cooking equipment is also not 100% equipped, the place could use a skillet, a thong and a few ladles. The door knob of 1 of the doors came off with children inside and we had to call the staff to fix it. There are a lot of bugs in the balcony at night, so that's off limets after 7pm.

carpark horribly tight,really struggle to get in and out (standard 2.0L Car)

The room was clean and comfortable and the view overlooking the mountains were great. The room service was excellent and the food we ordered was delicious and value for money.

The international breakfast buffet was a great disappointment as the choice was very limited and most of the hot food were only lukewarm. Definitely NOT value for money. Also, the loud music from some pub across the road was deafening and lasted till the wee hours of the morning. Perhaps soundproofing the windows may help?

Location was good. Staff were very helpful especially when booking.com had confirmed double reservations for the same rooms when one was cancelled prior to arrival! Restuarent staff were attentive ate customer needs and courteous. Food and massage were at walking distance and we had a good stay here in this hotel.

Walls of the room were thin so we could hear noise from outside sometimes. Otherwise all was fine.

Great staff. Requested something special for the room as we were in a belated honeymoon (3 years late) due to COVID restrictions in 2 different countries and they obliged with 2 handcrafted love swans made from towels with love petals over the bed. The little things & thoughts matter. Thank you so much for your taking the trouble. Location is really great. Looked for a massage after long oversess flights and at least 5 places are located within 2 minutes walk. MYR$10 by GRAB taxi will get you to most places as public transport is non existent in Ipoh. Food joints are easily accessible from the Hotel.

The Hotel driveway. No attempt is made to move vehicles from being parked in the small driveway and you have to avoid passing traffic to be picked up by your transport means on the roadside.

Location is central.Comfortable stay with 2 big shopping mall within walking distance.Hotel has reasonably-priced food.Staff respect our privacy.

A security guard acted as if he was a receptionist during midnight when I asked about the wifi.He said no connection because of the just concluded rain.But as I kept trying to connect,I finally managed to get connected on my own.He talked only,but never offer to help tap handphone for me.

The hotel is in a great location close to the Ipoh city centre. It has a restaurant that offers great food. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The facilities, such as a safe, kettle, and iron with an ironing board in the room, offer travellers added comfort. Generally, the hotel is maintained to a high standard, and the staff is friendly, helpful, and respectful. I highly recommend this hotel.

There was nothing I didn't like.

hotel was located in the central of the city, it was so convenient. There are foot reflexology parlour, established restaurants, Food courts, famous street foods street within walking distance. We have booked 2 twin bed rooms and one family room. The rooms were spacious, clean and bright. We have one minor problem with one of the twin room. Toilet get choked and we quickly called for housekeeping service, problem was solved within half an hour. In the family room, we were given 2 Queen beds, it was spacious. toilet were spacious too.

This hotel is old. When open our wardrobe to keep our clothings inside, the wardrobe has ‘wood’ smell, thus we didn’t leave our clothes inside.

Tallest building in the area with the hotel name gleaming in red on top so you'll never get lost. Great location, walking distance to all the popular food spots. Great hospitality. Complimentary parking. Room size was fantastic (probably due to the free upgrade I got from booking.com, TQVM). Clean, comfortable, quiet. One of the best places I've stayed in Ipoh so far. A bit pricey compared to other options in the area but it lived up to its price tag.

WIFI is sometimes ... a bit like hanging out with your Malaysian friend... you reach the meet up place and text your friend, your friend replies you he is already 'on the way' but really he's sitting at home playing video games on his Playstation. Be patient. Navigating the carpark requires your full and undivided attention. Minor nuisances to an overall wonderful experience.
