MIMARU Tokyo IKEBUKURO

2 bedroom place was clean, modern and very spacious, especially for Japan standards. Location was easy and accessible. Short walk to the station and surroundings.

Lack of window coverings/curtains meant the bedroom was filled with light a bit too early for our liking.

Great spacious room, separate bathroom and shower area is nice, cooking equipment was complete but pls note they do not provide any cooking oil and drinking water. We broke a plate and they did not charge us for it. Location was excellent, 5 min walk to Donki, lots of convenience stores around, quiet neighborhood, restaurants 2-5 min walk including Ichiran, Ikinari Steak, Yayoi, etc.

Beds are very firm, which is okay for some but it was a bit of an issue for us. Pillows collapsed so thin when you lay on them so we asked for extra pillows but they had none. This is the only reason I would think twice about booking again -- please get better pillows or at least have some extra available. They also had a weird policy about cleaning rooms -- we understand cleaning is only on the 4th day (the rest of the time they just took out trash) but they left a note on the 4th day saying if there are personal items in an area, they cannot clean it. Weird -- are we supposed to pack all our stuff away before they could clean? So they didn't clean at all. Was not an issue since we only stayed 6 nights, but longer than that and it would be an issue.

The family suite was exceptional and more than enough space to accommodate my friend group of 5. The room was full of amenities and having two bathrooms was a lifesaver. We made plenty of use of the fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and the kettle for our late night noodles. The beds were on the firmer side but none of us minded. We also loved the large dining table and living room area and gathered there every day. Location: We were a short 5min walk to the train and went to the nearby 7-elevens and Family Marts at least 3 times a day. We also enjoyed the complimentary robes and coffee/tea bags in the lobby. The front desk staff was friendly and incredibly welcoming. I would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was fantastic. The hotel was very clean and secure and the staff was always friendly and ready to assist. Our two bedroom suite room was perfect for our family's needs. The room was always kept tidy by the professional housekeeping staff. The lobby staff went above and beyond when we had a family issue arise during our stay and I could not be more grateful for their help with that. Overall, we all felt that this was a comfortable second home during our trip.

My only constructive criticism is aimed at the beds. The beds and pillows were not comfortable and felt as if we were sleeping on the floor/nothing at all. I would have greatly appreciated more comfortable beds and having a single, larger sized bed (queen size maybe) in the "master" bedroom.

The apartment room was spotlessly clean. Towels were changed daily. Rubbish was emptied daily. The little kitchenette had all utensils required to cook up a meal. There were no wine glasses. Perhaps, 2 wine glasses would suffice to add into the kichenette. There was a microwave oven to heat up food. We were able to cook our eggs, bacon and baked beans for breakfast every morning before we headed out for our sightseeing. Beds were comfortable. On the whole, the rooms have been fully refurbished. 7-11 n Family mart was just about 200m away. Was so convenient. There were loads of nice Japanese food restaurants close by which was so afffordable. Ikebukuro station was about 400 m away from the hotel. A nice walk to the station. The station is very centralised. Easy access to Disneyland, Shibuyo as there ar many lines in Ikebukuro Station. As we were a family of 4 wth 2 kids, laundry was an important service we needed. The laundrette was on level 2 - so very reasonable priced. The place was clean wth a wonderful play area for kids to play. Everything was so very clean. Hotel reception staff were friendly and very helpful. We managed to check in early by 1pm instead of the usual 3pm as our room was available. Cant ask for any other place. Would stay here again.

Stayed in the spacious 2-bedroom apartment that came with 2 toilets. Price was not too expensive for Tokyo. Rooms are clean. Daily changing of towels and clearing of trash even though apartment cleaning is only done every 3 days. Slippers and toothbrush/paste provided. Nice lounge with washing machines and dryers, vending machines (even though my apartment came with a washing machine and dryer). Location fairly near the Ikebukuro station, near a lot of food and shopping. Airport shuttle is available at Ikebukuro station as well. Staff was friendly and helpful. Suitable for families.

Ikebukuro is a bit far from most of the sights in Tokyo No breakfast provided / available (no restaurant / cafe in the hotel) After 10pm, there is no front desk service and the main door needs the keycard to unlock but the security guard is helpful and will assist if you need anything.

This is our second time staying in the same apartment. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment. It was convenient with your own laundry unit inside. Compare to the standard Japanese hotel, this is a decent size. We landed in Haneda airport, we took the airport bus. The bus stop was close by, about a 7 minutes walk. On our departure, there is also a nearby bus stop to Narita. Many eateries and convenience stores around.

The receptionist is friendly and enthusiastic about providing service. The room is clean and have all the equipment necessary for a comfortable stay. There is a washing machine and clothes dryer in the room which was very convenient for us. We are lucky to have this room. We booked a 2 bedroom family unit which has 3 different layouts. And in my personal opinion, I think the 4-sided layout is the best room and we ended up staying in this room by sheer luck (Room No. 608).

It would be great if there was an automatic coffee maker instead of instant coffee bags.

We loved having our own space to relax in and to adjust to the time difference. The apartment was really spacious with all the home comforts we needed. Shampoo, shower gel, toothbrushes, slippers, robes! We loved the fact we had our own apartment but there was also a front desk if we needed advice on anything. The bag forwarding service was also very easy to arrange. Exceptionally clean apartment…..and we loved the heated toilet seats 😂. Great location just outside the main hub of Tokyo. Easy access to all the main areas.

We loved it!! We will definitely be back!

The property was less than 10mins walk from Ikekbukuro Station so it was pretty convenient. Cleanliness of the place was top-notch and there was plenty of bed space for family of four (2 adults, 1 teenager & 1 pre-teen). There was a computer provided and we could log in to Netflix and gaming accounts (my son loved this and was sad when we had to check-out). Housekeeping was done well. Only thing is they didn't clear our used towels for some reason, though they kept providing new ones, so we ended up having many towels in the room at the end of our stay :-) The area around the property seemed to have many drinking pubs and adult entertainment venues, but we didn't feel unsafe at all even though we walked the streets in the night many times. Water pressure for shower was great and bath time was welcomed.

One thing the property would need to work on is the quality of the pillows - all the pillows we had were lumpy and I had to use 2 pillows to prop my neck properly.
