Everything was amazing. Obviously it's not a 5 star hotel or anything but it was exactly as advertised and that's what i wanted. I loved the little kitchen area and the fact that the A/C unit could be both cold and hot. It was very useful since it gets so cold in November here. It's also right next to a subway line that connects to major metro stations so it's easy to move everywhere. I also really liked the little free things at the reception like plastic bags for the trash cans and toiletries because we didn't have to ask the staff each time we needed something.

The bathroom was a little small. It was kind of hard to move around but it's still a reasonably sized bathroom for the price we payed.

6 min walk from Inaricho station, Ginza line and the station has an elevator so you don’t need to worry about lugging your luggage up flights of stairs. Just walk a few blocks straight from inaricho st. Exit 3, turn left and the hotel is right there. It’s close to central spots in tokyo (Ueno, Asakusa, Shibuya a couple of stations away). Ameyokocho is a 15-20 min walk and so is Ueno park. The hotel is situated in a quiet neighborhood. Room is small and a bit old but good value for the price we got it at. Would advise you to get luggage that opens only on the top and not like a book because it can feel cramped. Has all the basic amenities (mini ref, microwave, blowdryer, TV, soap and shampoo). Also has enough outlets. Bed was comfy and had 2 pillows only. Leave your trash outside everyday and the staff/cleaners will get it. Payment is upfront.

Room cleaning service is free for only 1 day, i think if you want addtl cleaning you need to pay a fee. You can also hear voices/noises from the hallway so it’s advised to keep quiet/no talking in the hallways, understandable. Front desk is also open only from 9am to 6pm, staff takes a break from 8-9am, and doors are locked 6pm onwards for security reasons. So if you want to check in earlier or later you should inform the staff ahead of time.

Staff was very nice to let us check-in early at 10:00, especially it was rainning that day. All facilities were great (bidet, microwave, laundry room, air conditioner...) and amenities were surprisingly good as well. We really like shampoo, cleansing oil and toner and even toothbrush since it was so soft. Great location to access to all tourist spots in Tokyo by train via Ginza line.

The duvet often seperate from its cover and we could not fix it so it was troublesome for later night. Luckily, air conditioner worked as fine so room was warm enough.

The staff at the reception is very friendly and polite and is ready to assist you with any question. Location is excellent: 3-5min walking to Inaricho (Ginza line), 15min walking to Ueno and Ameyoko Shopping street, 20-25min walking to Asakusa and Senso-ji temple. Nice and quiet neighborhood, with different options to grab a bite within 5min walking (24/7 combini shops and small restaurants). At first, we were a bit concerned with the construction ground across the street but during the 9 days we stayed at the hotel we could barely notice it. Room: for 2 people it is really tiny (I would estimate ca. 18m) and although some facilities seem a bit old, the room was very clean and had everything one might need. The bed was comfy, the heating is provided via a/c, hairdryer, kettle, cups, glasses, and spoons, and even a small cooking plate is hidden in one of the drawers. There is no housekeeping which means no one cleans your room every day (which was totally fine for us), but you can leave the garbage outside the door in the morning and it will be taken care of, Also, at the reception during opening hours you can always get tea/coffee/sugar, bath, and skin care amenities. I liked the desk that is large enough for 2 people to it next to each other with a laptop. Overall, considering all the above, it was a great value for money and a very pleasant stay.

The internet could have been better. I had to make a couple of video calls and the connection was too slow, constantly interrupting, so I had to use the pocket WiFi as a backup.

We had a very pleasant stay at HOTEL MYSTAYS Ueno. The location was perfect, few minutes to the metro station and walking distance to Ueno Park, Akihabara and Sensoji Temple. The staff was very friendly and even though we arrived way past the check in time due to our flights being delayed, a member of staff responded very promptly at almost 1AM to check us in. The room was very clean, had all the necessary amenities and it was very cozy despite its small size. One thing to note is that, there's no room service so rubbish was disposed by us in the morning but we didn't mind. We will definitely choose HOTEL MYSTAYS Ueno when we will return to Tokyo. Recommend!

very close to Inaricho station. after a long day of walking, it’s nice to know you will only need to walk about 3-5 mins after getting off the train. they had no cleaning service but provided us with complimentary cleaning for 1 day - guess it depends on length of stay. staff was so nice. we bought too much stuff in Japan and we were thinking of buying a luggage. staff pointed us to Ameyoko and we found the perfect size that didn’t cost too much

husband had allergic reaction to dust. we found the exhaust above the sink to be dirty. we didn’t ask the staff but I’m sure they won’t mind cleaning if asked

- Good location, one of the main stations was just 5 minutes walking (Ueno Station) - The reception staff was kind and speak enough english, just 1 guy didn't speak very well but it wasn't a problem - Privacy I could go in and out without the hassle of being observed by the recepcionist as reception close at 6pm. - Komobini and restaurants were near. - The balcony has a good and wonderful view!

- It's a little old building, some bits are deteriorated like cabinets that had some small dents and chips, and yes a little rust on the bathtub but just a little, nothing that would harm you or bother you. Man, I'm from Mexico, we have worst problems back there. - The room wasn't cleaned properly, the bathroom was poorly cleaned. The problem it is not that it's an old building (old for japanese standard) the problem was that the cleaning staff didn't put attention to details like behind the toilet. Also I would add a toilet brush for each room.

The room was small but well-organized, furniture comfortable. I used the laundry room in the basement. The vending machine on the ground floor sells beer along with coffee. The area is near a major street with frequent bus to Ueno station and Ueno Park. Along small side streets can be found old temples and gardens. (If you walk north from the hotel you can see Tokyo Tower.)

Near the hotel are lots of tiny restaurants, but the “easy” restaurants for those of us not familiar with Japanese food are near Ueno station. However, there are several minimarts (Lawson, 7-11) nearby.

Close to subway station and walking distance from Ueno, Ameyoko, and Asakusa; lots of konbini and cheap food options nearby; towels, toiletries, and room slippers were provided; studio room was complete- desk, fridge, electric kettle, closet with hangers, full body mirror; hot and cold shower, as well as aircon were working properly; staff were helpful

Room is cramped for two people; the bathroom is small, might not fit people with bigger build; wish there was an option to ask for more pillows; due to location, it takes a while to get to the central areas (e.g., Ginza, Shibuya, Shinjuku)

I stayed for over a week at the property, and it was a pretty comfortable stay the entire time. The hotel is a former apartment complex that's been converted into a hotel property, so every room opens to an open air lobby and (I think) has a balcony, so you can get a lot of air flow during the summer months, if you don't want to use the A/C. The bed was comfortable, the mini-fridge was extremely helpful for a long stay, and... since the location itself is inbetween Ueno and Asakusa, it was a great center for exploring those sections of Tokyo (if you don't mind a short walk), when I didn't feel like taking the subway to get to other sections of the city.

Though I'm not sure what sort of apartment complex the hotel used to be, I notice that the rooms are a little narrow. You can sit at the desk that's built in to the wall, lean back, and rest the chair against the side of the bed. I didn't have a problem with this, but if multiple people share the same room, there could be some crowding.
