Novotel Suites Yogyakarta Malioboro

Location - it’s right on Malioboro Road. we took the train from the airport and walked to the hotel from the station. And we had 2 kids with one large suitcase amongst other smaller bag. Very doable. Rooms were nice and we got joining rooms since we had 2 of our kids with us.

The poolside facilities was showing its age. Walls were flaking and needed more love. On site F&B was very limited with the big coffee house only open for breakfast.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, which was particularly appreciated as I was very tired when we arrived and not functioning at my best. The room was spacious and comfortable with everything we needed. Breakfast was plentiful with a good variety of options, and we were given a breakfast box when we had a very early check-out, which more than met our needs. The air conditioning was easy to control, giving us a comfortable rather than freezing room. Staff were helpful in arranging our trip to Borobudur and providing other directions. The location is close to a shopping mall with a food court, which was very suitable for us. It was also quick and easy to walk down to the Sultan's Palace from the hotel.

1. what is the purpose of put a refrigerator which temperature higher than room temperature. jogja is quite hot and it will be nice if guests can cool their own beverage inside refrigerator in their room. 2. if we set temperature to higher than 22deg the room will smell of smoke and something damp. 3. i notice that in every accor group hotel, level of cleanliness is lower than other hotel (eg Tentrem). i even can find mold at edge of bathroom and cement fell down from the joints between tiles. also i notice a porous edge of wardrobe door.

We requested a birthday cake, and we were pleasantly surprised with the hotel arrangement. The team was very helpful in full filling our request, and the rooms were decorated nicely with balloons and birthday wishes. Our friends were so touched! The hotel room was very spacious, the best bed super comfortable mattress. The breakfast buffet comes with many choices of local and international choices. Location wise is perfect very near to shopping street.

The toilet basin is too big, with no space to put toiletries when you have 2 persons sharing the room.

Everything was perfect. Location is very convenient, both as a starting point for trips outside the city and just to walk around the Malioboro area, rooms are spacious, well designed and kept spotless, rooftop pool was big and clean, with a very nice adjoined bar with extremely polite and accommodating staff, same as everywhere in the hotel; breakfast was plentiful, with all kinds of food. All in all, a it was a perfect stay.

The room was really large and the bed was comfortable and we loved relaxing at the rooftop pool and bar! Especially loved the amazing cocktails (try the pink lady!). The hotel was really well priced and perfectly located within walking distance to Malioboro Street and taxis were a breeze to get to the temples and other tourist sites. The staff were all really friendly and welcoming and the added security measures meant we always felt safe! Thanks for a great stay!

The carpet and couch in the room were stained and the restaurant didn't provide soy milk, but neither of these things ruined our stay.

location, breakfast and large rooms!

some amenities were a little worn out but it can be replaced with new ones like towels, new refillable shower and shampoo bottles. there was also a particular sewage smell every afternoon, maybe there was some road works done by the side of the hotel.

The room was very clean. The location was the best. The facilities were good.

The food was lacking in variety. Some food dont match. For example, there. Was nasi goreng but the other food with it were fish with coconut milk and tempe and tofu also cooked with coconut milk. The variety of cakes were few jst brownies and pukis plus pancakes. There was no yoghurt drink. The gudeg which should be a highlight did not really taste good enough.

I really like the ambience and coziness of the room. They even upgraded my booking and it was incredible. The staff was so polite. I can’t say the breakfast is exceptional, but it ranges from traditional to basic western type of breakfast. The location is just perfect if you would like to explore Malioboro and its offered leisures; not to mention the hotel’s walking distance to train station (airport train and local trains).

None that I can complain.

Location location ! Walking distance to malioboro and street is very comfortable to walk around wirh becak nearby. Lots of resturants, coffee shops, and local shopping outlets for batik/souvenirs. As we are family of 5 we booked 2 deluxe rooms and requested for connecting rooms. These rooms are spacious with sofa bed so kids can have good time inside. Good selections of menu for breakfast.
