Bali Spirit Hotel and Spa, Ubud

Beautiful peaceful location, lush gardens, friendly and helpful staff. We loved the rooms which are very 'Bali', semi outdoor bathrooms in some, the kids loved the frogs on the bathroom wall 😁

Some of the bathroom facilities and plumbing in the communal areas needed work. The pool bar was never open so no drinks by the pool. In fact it didn't have a bar at all and seemingly no-one that could make cocktails. Restaurant menu quite basic.

We were welcomed by a gong signalling our arrival and a cool juice. Check in was quick and easy. Beautiful lush tropical surrounds with sounds of water from the river. It’s an oasis from the Ubud business. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There’s a free shuttle into the centre of Ubud (but only one morning option.) The main pool is nice, with another pool available. Our rooms were generous and comfortable, with our mini bar area outside on the balcony. We were a family group and had 3 consecutive rooms with a large shared balcony which was nice and convenient (pot plants usually divide areas for privacy) If you want a break from the restaurant there are a few restaurants/ Warungs in easy walking distance and local shops for essentials. At breakfast staff will cook eggs, omelettes, French toast freshly for you if you ask.

There’s a lot of steps. It was fine for us, a bit of a challenge with prams. But would be a problem if you are mobility impaired. The swimup bar is not in service but staff are happy to bring drinks and food poolside so it didn’t really matter. Some areas of the resort could do with a bit of maintenance but this did not deter from our stay or enjoyment at all. The restaurant menu has a good variety available but it’s the same for poolside, lunch and dinner

The serenity, the pools and the Restaurant although the menu was a little limited and moving it from by the river wasdisappointing. . Staff were outstanding.

There are a lot of steps which can be physically challenging.

Lovely hotel in a lovely setting. Great pool with swim up bar. Very reasonable price. Shuttle service to Ubud centre.

Not enough variety of food available at restaurant. We had to go into Ubud to eat most meals.

We stayed in the presidential suite and it was great with beautiful views. The resort is exactly what we needed - tranquil. Good shuttle service to town. Food at the restaurant was very good, with a few other places nearby. The management and staff were so helpful and wanted feedback to improve guests experience. Yes there are steps at the resort, so mobility is needed although the manager pointed out that there is a driveway to get to some rooms if needed - I’d recommend contacting them directly if mobility was an issue.

- Beautiful tropical garden setting with two pools with river running below. - Spacious room with outlook over one of the pools - Staff super helpful and obliging - Good location, close to local village and restaurants - Near yoga centre - Great value for money

- Some elements of the room fixtures and fittings were a bit tired but all functional - Wifi was not reliable but staff helpful to try fix it. - set over steep terraces with lots of steps, it could be challenging for people with limited mobility

I love the location of the resort which was built in the Cliffside of a valley overlooking a small stream of water. Being able to lookout to this area from our room was blissful. Breakfast was very nice, not extravagant but plenty to satisfy us. The location was perfect for our needs, close to yoga centre and away from the hassle and bustle but close to many nice restaurants. I liked the outdoor bathroom and the spacious rooms.

There weren't enough chairs for 4 people and the TV didn't work but other than that it was fine

Overall it’s a nice place. Ubud hotels seem to be a little non pretentious, unless you pay a lot more. The value for money is fairly spot on. There’s a river that runs at the bottom of the property that makes for a nice peaceful ambiance. We ordered in a couple of times and food was nice. There was also no monkey’s around the hotel to steel your food or belongings.

The bed was very hard and the pillows were rather thin. Most nights I didn’t sleep well because of this. Location is not too far from the town and they have a free shuttle bus that does drop off and pick up (not super frequently but can come in handy), however if you want to walk into town you are walking along a main road with no footpath for a bit, that can be a little dangerous at times.

Staff were lovely, beautiful location and everything was kept clean. The pool was especially good. Nothing that really put us off. Like many resorts it's obvious covid hit them a little hard. I stayed pre-covid and everything was a little better maintained. They were doing some painting and other renovations during our stay which was nice to see. The breakfast could use a few more options but was still good. Depending on where you stay in the resort there are quite a few stairs to navigate, which was actually a bonus for us. Just keep that in mind if you have a sore back or legs. Possibly request a room with no stairs if so. 😊

Rooms great and noce Veranda wher eyou can look in the valley. Breakfast was good. Good value for money. Location is good but if take a taxi it can a bit stucked. Staff very nice and helpful. Nice dekor , Balistyle. Can walk a long the monket forest but motorbikes also there, so carefully. Some guest do request to have the aircon running while they are away. Just tell them that they can turn it off while you are away. Ones back the large aircon do cool the room straight on. Nice pool.

It could have been more hot water for the bathtub.
