The Tamarind Resort - Nusa Lembongan

The design of the Tamarind - apparently owned by an Australian - is lovely. Kind of modernist, with mid-century touches. My room, which had a balcony view of the volcano (when visible), was really lovely; spacious and very comfortable. A special shout out for top TOP quality bed linen, with cloud-like duvets and pillows. The food in the restaurant, where I ate twice in the evening, was also very good. There are two pools - a third is very shallow - one on the roof, and one opposite the open air dining room, and both of these are beautiful. The rooftop one has great views.

This is a high end property, and there is a big ratio of staff to guests, or so it seemed to me. That is all good. What I did not like, especially as a solo traveller, was being asked every time I appeared as to “Where are you going now? What are you doing now? Where have you been? Why are you travelling alone?’ Once or twice, ok. I got extremely fed up having to account for myself every time I stepped out of my room. It’s obviously some policy of the hotel - and the staff themselves were lovely - but I personally did not appreciate this constant questioning of my movements. I just wanted some privacy, and ended up - again, a personal opinion - feeling slightly harassed at this property.

Our stay at The Tamarind was faultless. The resort itself is simply stunning - the facilities, view, cleanliness, air conditioning, bed comfort and food were all exceptional, but what made our stay so incredibly enjoyable was the staff. To Harry, Ade, Putu, Wayan - in fact, everyone - thank you all for making our stay so memorable. Nothing was ever too much trouble for any of you and your advice, assistance, friendship and warmth throughout our stay was greatly appreciated. We will miss you all xxx (One very small note for prospective travellers with bad knees - there are a lot of stairs to the top villas).

We love this beautiful resort hotel! We’ve stayed here multiple times. We loved our room and the 3 beautiful swimming pools. Its in the perfect location. It’s walking distance to town and right next to a trail that takes you to the beach and promenade. The hotel arranged to have scooters for us on arrival. All the staff were kind and helpful. They have a small gym which was perfect for us. We highly recommend!

We really liked our stay at the Tamarind. We had a lovely view, and we were really impressed with the food. The staff were lovely too (in particular, the gentleman on reception, our driver who took us to the medical centre, a lovely gentleman who served us dinner and Harry by the pool bar.

The communal areas could be a little cleaner to make it what you expect from a 5* but otherwise we cannot complain! a wonderful hotel on a beautiful island

We had a brilliant time at this hotel. The vibe of it was chilled and relaxed, with amazing service and attention to detail. We had had a busy few days beforehand and adored sitting by the rooftop pool with the amazing views. We also liked the location as we could easily walk to other places on the beach, etc. We would totally recommend this hotel. Breakfast was great - the corn fritters are out of this world!

We enjoyed everything

1.Location, a stone throw away from Junngutbatu beach where D’Star ferry stop . The hotel arrange buggy to pick us up. 2.hotel has two pool and both are excellent esp the one on the higher level where u can relax and enjoy the sea view and gunung agong! 3. breakfast was awesome !

If I were to pick one ~the Hotel room is elevated as you go higher floors and they dun hv a lift. but this is not an issues. i am sure the hotel staff will be happy to send you up to your room buggy services!

Amazing location, very close to good food and the beach. The views from the room was soooo lovely and amazing. Big thanks to the lovely and helpful staff! If you need any help with booking of scooters/tours/transport, the resort can help sort it out quickly. Also, breakfast was great! Would 100% stay here again. Super glad to have stayed here :)

The staff! Everyone was so amazing, friendly and helpful. Also, we ate at the restaurant everyday because the food was so good we did not want to try anything else. Plus, room service was so fast.

The staff are amazing, everyone so friendly and accommodating they really can’t do enough for you. location is perfect from where the ferry drops you only a short walk up the road. We upgraded on arrival to a villa the views are something else money so well spent.

Everything in such a great location staff and food were amazing! Bed was a cloud and we have never slept better. Could not recommend this property enough we are a young couple travelling but would be perfect for families aswell so close to restaurants the beach and activities.
