La Walon Hotel

Everything about the room and facilities were great. We booked a last minute budget stay here so value for money was excellent. We were placed in a room that had a small balcony with an average view so I asked for a better room and the staff were more than happy to help. We were put in a lovely room with large balcony looking over pool area and also nice tree views. The bed was huge, pool large and clean, the shower pressure was great, service was good and a good central location.

The feral Aussie bogan guests who behaved like pigs. Gives us decent Aussies a bad image.

Location was good, central to the Kuta area and beach. Pool was clean and cool, well maintained. Rooms basic but clean, no mould or smells, air conditioning worked very well. Hot water in shower, takes a while but it does get very hot. Kettle with coffee and sugar, 2 water bottles every day. Working, clean bar fridge with small freezer. Breakfast basic but good for the price. Large menu. Staff very friendly and helpful. Gardens nice.

There wasn't anything we didn't like, our pillows were too hard for us (personal preference) so we just bought some for ourselves, only cost $4. Mattress a bit hard but we got use to it. For the price we can't complain and will definitely return. I would suggest that they have bamboo roll down blinds for the rooms facing the sun in the morning as it gets too hot to sit outside in the morning and block out curtains would help too.

Excellent value at this older style hotel in the heart of Kuta. We had 3 rooms on 2nd & 3rd floors & while the rooms are old & not pristine, it had everything we needed: big comfy bed, great AC, TV, fridge, tea/coffee making and daily cleaning. Pool is big, clean, grounds tidy & very reasonably priced food & drink delivered to your sun lounge. Very friendly, obliging staff.

Balconies are very small on top two floors (much larger if a ground level room), curtains were thin which meant an early wake up from the sunshine.

Location was great, near beach, Beachwalk Shopping Centre, affordable restaurants, airport. Room very comfy, good bed, great aircon, hot water rainfall showers with good pressure. It’s an older hotel, but everything was comfortable and the price was right for our budget. Gardens well-maintained & pool area very nice. Breakfast was good with many options on the set breakfast choices. Staff was very accommodating, friendly and helpful. it was clear there were many guests who were regulars. Despite the busy area, it was generally quite quiet, with little noise getting into the rooms. If you really need quiet, ask to not have an adjoining room (or bring earplugs just in case!)

Wifi was not good in some areas. If wifi is very important to you, request a room closer to the bar or office areas. We asked for another room with better wifi and the staff very courteously assisted us to change rooms. Construction has just commenced across the road. Footings were being poured while we visited. There was surprisingly little noise from this, even though our new room faced the road.

Nice room,comfy bed. Nice staff.

The free wifi was not fast enoigh to stream or make voip calls without breaking up. Ive stayed here before and there wasnt the problem, so depends on the room location.

Nice budget hotel, good location, decent showers, decent bed, decent cable with cnn and hbo, 5 minutes to Kuta beach, 7/8 restos in immediate area, big pool with lots of loungers, great staff in all areas, great wifi, great bar with 25K (rupiah) ice cold beer and not bad live singer on Tuesdays, overall a good choice and I’ll be back!

No chairs in the room, have to move one in and out from balcony, huge construction project across the entry, noise didn’t really bother me but it might you. Restaurant is just ok, no elevator. And it’s dam hot here🥵

Great little restaurant and we tried most of the fish and vegetarian meals, basic breakfast with several courses of American and Indonesian . Happy hour for beer was all day - yeah Bintang!!! Very friendly and caring employees especially Petu, Ketut (x2) Made (x3) and Gede. There was live music couple of times a week. We had a very large room and 7 foot bed! on 3rd floor and used the stairs without problem. The room was cleaned daily and free water provided. The AC worked very well and Wi-Fi was pretty good for the number of rooms and worked ok in rooms and by the pool. The pool was clean and the grounds kept meticulously. The massage ladies Ayu and Nyoman were fantastic and soothed away any stress. There was local and pay TV channels for all travellers. We will definitely be back again and we met many travellers who had stayed at La Walon for many years and booked each year in advance, that says allot about the employees and how they care!!!

Bali is recovering from the pandemic and like everywhere there are renovations happening to get Bali back on track. All older buildings are slowly being renovated and improved. Whilst there was a huge demolition construction next door this was limited to 9-5 . After a while we got used to and did not hear it. This will soon finish to create a new complex.

Big rooms, very comfortable beds,, clean rooms, quiet, high ceilings. Staff always happy and helpful. Excellent Location and walking distance to all foodies restaurants.💪👌 Location for Laundry under 500 metres. Away., beauty salons and massage, places, with clothing shops also under 100 metres and cash competitive money exchange across the road 20 metres with a bike rental and all very new bikes. Skinny lane so not many cars or bikes so you can walk without getting run over. Better night's sleep and air con is cold and beers and food is exceptional value. Pool perfect all day until 3pm -4pm when the sun goes over the building and then you can cool off on the massive outdoor pool that extremely well maintained. Gardens always clean and day beds all around the pool. Book you won't be disappointed.

The staff were amazing, the room was big, comfortable, had a lovely balcony with seats overlooking the pool, a safe and a fridge. All we could need. The bathroom was on the older side but it was perfectly serviceable with a lovely strong hot shower. The breakfast was basic but filled us up, so no complaints. There were a few shops open and some lovely cheap restaurants too in Poppies Lane 1. La Walon restaurant also does not charge taxes etc on top so was good value for money eating at the hotel. Aircon was excellent.

Bidet water was pretty smelly.

Nice pool, large balcony, good price.
