Holiday Inn Express - Darmstadt, an IHG Hotel

New hotel. Very clean rooms. Good breakfast with nice selection of food. Spacious room. Good linens. Comfortable sleep. We had a good rest (stayed only for one night). Modern design. Good wifi connection. Nice underground parking with decent daily rate.

Unfriendly, cold staff especially the reception when we checked in. But Giovanni (the reception on duty during check out) was very nice. He is the only pleasant staff we encountered in this hotel. The others were unfriendly. Room lacking counter/desk space.

Everything was great in our stay. We really enjoyed the room, it was clean and spacious, and we had a great breakfast too which was complimentary. Upon check in we also receiced a complimentary drink free of choice at the Bar which was a plus too. The Hotel was easily reachable in less then 10 min walk from Darmstadt HBF, and another 17-18 minutes from Frankfurt HBF, where we attended the Fair. Overall a great stay and reccomended for other travellers.

Comfortable, great breakfast, helpful staff

All fairly minor points but: - The view/location is the rail tracks, trains and a large chimney (but the sound proofing is very good, no noise at all) - The shower is open and at floor level. As it is not tilted and doesn't drain enough, you easily flood the whole bathroom - The elevators need the room keys to work and very often they didn't read them properly - A bit expensive compared to other options in Darmstadt

Nice new hotel, close to the train station and easily reachable by bus/tram from my office. They appear to have excellent accessibility and the breakfast is nice. Noise insulation appears to be good for how close to the tracks they are.

While I assume they are very even for reasons of accessibility, the shower floors have sub-optimal drainage, which makes them prone to flooding a bit.

Location close to the railway station and not to far from the city centre.

Long time to check out as I needed to have the adress and data changed on the bill. I had mentioned this in the message when booking the room, but this was not implemented. Apparantly, several of the persons checking out that morning had the same problem as it took a very long time to check out.

I really like the location, hotel is well situated near main station. breakfast is great and healthy. overall hotel cleanliness is great and adorable. staff is cooperative more than expectation. really great experience.

If they may can offer little customized breakfast, like if someone wants Omelette and inform one night earlier they should prepare / offer to them.

The staff were pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was good and reasonably diverse. The place was also spotless and it had good room service. Quiet room.

Nothing major, only there was no mention of wifi authentication information at check-in time, and I was too lazy to ask for it later at night. Not a big deal for me though. Also not much of a view.

Very friendly staff at the reception and restaurant. Rooms absolutely clean, quiet and well decorated. The breakfast was very good. Overall a very good experience and stay in this hotel close to the main train station in Darmstadt.

The hotel is located in a side street, close the main train station in Darmstadt. It is a very convenient location for travellers; nonetheless there is not much going around the hotel. You need to walk a bit to find nice restaurants etc. But certainly doable.

The hotel is new, the room was immaculate and perfectly clean. Close to train station, but quiet at night. Nice view of the railway tracks and a WW2 bunker :). Check-in/check out was very efficient.

The breakfast has relatively limited choice and the breakfast room was quite busy in the morning.

Hotel is new....clean. Rooms are fair size... Staff excellent...we're there for whatever we needed

Shower....every time was used ended up with water all over bathroom floor. No storage space ie..no drawers . Not enough clothes hangers.
