Woods Genève-Thoiry

On arrival at the hotel, the location in an industrial area, next to a cement factory and opposite a container storage area, didn't look very inviting. However, once we got to know the area better we found it an ideal location. It is within 10 minutes walking distance from a big commercial centre with many shops and restaurants and within 15 minutes to the border with Geneva by car. There is a bus stop at the commercial centre. The hotel and adjacent buffet restaurant is efficiently run by a friendly Cambodian family, a tasty buffet breakfast at Euro 12 is served daily. The choice of food at the buffet restaurant is enormous and of good quality at a reasonable price. The rooms are comfortable and have air-conditioning.

Nothing really to dislike. The only problem is with parking at the huge parking lot when arriving during peak dinner time when almost all places are occupied by visitors to the popular buffet restaurant. Outside of the peak time there is no problem with parking.

The room was really neat, comfy bed and pillows and clean. Decoration was modern and surprisingly nice. Would highly recommend for people wanting to visit Geneva due to a much attractive price than swiss hotels, however bear in mind that the hotel location is quite remote and difficult to reach if you do not have a car.

The only con I can think of is that in our room the shower box glass is not well insulated on the bottom and water runs off to the bathroom floor if you don't leave a towel/rug close to the box door. Altough that would stop me staying there again in the future.

Comfortable location relative to the territory. I went to CERN for work, there was a direct bus 68, I got there in 40 minutes. There is a shopping mall within walking distance. Cleaning is daily, I'm not sure about changing the linen.

Not suitable for work, there is a table, but it is not big enough for this. Expensive breakfasts, but probably this does not apply to this particular hotel, namely to France as a whole.

The hotel is new. Very friendly personnel. The rooms are perfect, clean, and comfortable beds. The location of the hotel is in an industrial area but that should not bother you if you want to visit the surrounding areas. the village is small and does not offer much, however, we have discovered a large shopping VAL Theory Center 5 min by car and 10 min walking from the hotel. Breakfast is very simple in the hotel for the price they ask for it. In the shopping center, you can find plenty of options to have a good breakfast for less money. Switzerland border is 10 min driving, Geneve 30min driving from the hotel. You should visit Annecy city and the lake in France. 1hour driving you will not regret. Of course, getting close to the ALPS is an amazing area and beautiful landscapes and incredible mountains. Enjoy. BTW, parking by the hotel is free. and they have a good Chinese restaurant just next door. Belongs to the hotel owner I believe!

The breakfast could be better for the price you pay for it.

Getting recognized at the reception desk a year after your last visit is a really positive experience. There is not much else to say that I didn't write before. Good location, good breakfast, the hotel is part of an all-you-can eat sushi restaurant if you'd like to indulge, so that's definitely a plus.

With a price that was not dissimilar to Ibis hotels around the location, I expected a budget experience but I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at our room I noticed that the room was furnished more like an upscale hotel, with a very nice bathroom and padded walls around the bed/seats.

the beds were not firm and the split mattress made it slightly less enjoyable since we were looking for a full bed.

The receptionist prepared everything before our arrival. So the check-in progress was very quick specially after long travel. The rooms are spacious, clean. The were a big restaurant just next to the hotel which was good we don't have to look for a place to dinner.

The breakfast can be better.

Somewhat close to the GVA airport at a reasonable price.

Breakfast only available as of 7am therefore could not eat before leaving for an early flight from GVA airport.

Convenient for motorists - travellers. Very new, clean and comfortable room with curved furnishings, bed and large TV. Proper sized and well lit bathroom, high water pressure and nice gel soap provided (Rituals). Nice lobby. Right across the commercial center of the town of Thoiry. Destination buffet - Asian / international restaurant (Seazens) is part of the property.

A nice terrace - outdoor green garden would make it perfect.
