ibis Styles Ouistreham

This is the second time me and my brother have stayed here. It's pretty decent. Ideal for the ferry port. Staff are always super helpful as well. We were on our cycles and there is a decent lock up area to store bikes in. You do have to take the bikes down some stairs though. Bedroom was OK. A bit basic but adequate for 1 night. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was good with plenty of choice. Only 1 coffee machine working though. It's a 10 minute stroll into the town centre, which is worth a visit. Would recommend staying here.

After 2 other tries, we chose this hotel as it was 100 from the ferry terminal and it had secure booking that would take a small, tall campervan ( 5m long x 2.75m high). We wanted secure parking as there were warnings that campervans parked on the road might be a target. The breakfast was excellent and served cheerfully at 6am. The room was small but very well equipped, and the shower was a good size. The double glazing was effective

As we arrived on a Sunday evening, there was little choice of restaurants open in the town. The choice on the menu in the Ibis was rather uninspiring.

Breakfast was ready at 6am as stated. Good choice of food items. The gentleman on duty at breakfast time was very professional and polite. Plenty of car parking spaces.

The receptionist on arrival was efficient but very matter of fact. Whilst I accept there was little to convey there was little warmth in the welcome unlike when I left the key card the gentleman on duty had a pleasanter manner.

Excellent communications after booking, especially reassuring us we could check in around midnight after our ferry was unexpectedly prevented from departing Portsmouth for 2+ hours. Excellent free breakfast: lots of different fruits, cereals, cheeses, and a great selection of fresh breads (we'd expected little more than a tired croissant in a cellophane wrapper and a vending machine coffee).

The room was a little small, but fine for a short stay.

Rooms are very small but manage to be a little quirky and interesting, with some nice touches - a lively printed stool, for example, lifted the decor from the utilitarian to the pleasing. Staff were very helpful - offering to store our French cheese in the hotel fridge. Location for an early morning ferry is excellent.

Rooms are small and would be oppressive for more than a short stay. Expensive - but this was a summer weekend, so sadly not out of line with the area.

Overall enjoyed our stay at Ibis Styles hotel, pleasant staff and nice breakfast. We traveled from Paris, so we took train to Gare Caen and than changed to a local bus, which cost only 2 Euro per person. Sandy beach is very nice and huge, in my observation it's better to go to the beach early morning as it is nice and no wind, after around lunch time the wind start picking up.

Everything was very good. An excellent breakfast with gluten free bread and madeleines which made my day! Staff were lovely. Bed extremely comfy and great shower. Room was clean.

Only downside - the room was Very Smelly. It was as if someone had just used the bathroom. Luckily the window opened so that helped a lot and I kept it open all night. By morning the smell had gone.

Excellent position for Brittany Ferries terminal. Friendly and efficient staff. Comfortable bedroom and the only place we stayed in France that offered an English language channel on TV. No evening meal available but restaurants within easy walking distance. Breakfast was made available even though we had to leave at 5am.

Not much room to move around the bed. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room but a good selection constantly available in the dining area.

Very convenient for ferry, excellent nights sleep, very clean and comfortable bed. Quiet location and very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was adequate.Secure parking was 5 euro on site.Definitely stay again and recommend it. Was better than the night ferry anytime.

Nothing at all we disliked.

Good receptionist, modest sized room but clean with good shower, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast which starts at 6am, right next to the ferry terminal, very quiet, good car park, reasonable price (which includes breakfast), modern.

No kettle, tea or coffee in room or available outside breakfast.
