The room was very large and comfortable. The breakfast was simple, but of very good quality and enjoyable. Plenty of coffee available and fresh orange juice. The location was fantastic if you just want to get away from it all. We ate in the garden twice. They only do food in the evening on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, though we are our own food out there one night and it was very pleasant too. Being a vineyard, there was plenty of wine available at a reasonable rate. There is even a tasting available most evenings to try them all. You can take a walk around the fields too, which was very pleasant. A word of caution: this is more like staying in someone’s private residence than a hotel, that’s exactly what I wanted and it was great, just don’t turn up expecting the facilities of the Hilton.

The breakfast range is quite limited, of good quality, but limited. Some eggs from the chickens in the garden would be nice. There are also lots of mosquitoes given the proximity to the river. Our room had quite a few cobwebs.

Lovely room in a tranquil, beautiful location next to the river. The hosts went out of their way to help with our late night arrival. Breakfast was very good and served in the most beautiful old chapel. Wine tasting was excellent. The brothers, Gabriel and Raphael were charming, informative and passionate about their winery and hotel. It was a delight to stay there.

Gorgeous location and surroundings with a beautiful setting among tall trees and the little old chapel on the bank of the Dordogne river. On a fresh summer night we were received with an impromptu wine tasting and some nice charcuterie and cheese platters. The rooms are spacious with simple elegance and the renovated bathrooms are comfortable. In the morning we were welcomed to a simple yet delicious breakfast inside the old and elegant yet understated chapel. We treated ourselves to a short walk through the vineyards and of course some wine from the chateau to bring back home.

beautifully restored keeping all period features with comfortable and quiet rooms. Made to feel really welcome and enjoyed tasting the wines made at the property - v interesting to hear about the ecological approach being taken and the hosts passion for this. Great breakfast too with home made jams

The Team are very friendly and welcoming. The evening meal and breakfast were delicious. We had a very informative wine tasting and tour of the winery

The first impression is deceptive. The property is consistent with the values they uphold but looks rundown from first view as you drive up compared to others in the area.

Excellent place and location, spacious room and bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Very good WiFi (in the rooms). The Hosts offer free wine tasting - which was very interesting and tasty. Delicious food - should you choose to stay for a light meal in the evening. Excellent breakfast. Great selection of teas & coffees. Very friendly Hosts, they make your stay as good and relaxing as possible.

the most relaxing place beside the river. beautiful old buildings which had been renovated to a high spec. the room was fabulous wine tasting at 6.30 pm was so interesting definitely would love to stay again

perhaps a fridge is the joint seating area for milk etc

Chateau de la Vieille Chapelle stands on the bank of the River Dordogne, surrounded by trees and vineyards. Peaceful, tranquil, idyllic. Beautiful old buildings have been superbly restored. Room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated with a great shower. Tea making facilities were provided in sitting next door. Excellent breakfast including fresh fruit salad, croissants, bread, tea, coffee etc with plenty more on offer. As the main business of the Chateau is to produce wine, it seemed logical to taste a few. And every one was excellent. Famille Mallier took very good care of us for the one night we stayed. Hopefully we'll pass that way again next year, but for a slightly longer time!

The sun could have shone a little more and it would have been nice to get a few more bottles of wine in the car. Next time!
