Brit Hotel Bordeaux Arena

The hotel was a pleasant surprise in the outskirts of Bordeaux. What you see in the pictures is what you get. We had a lovely terrace on the garden and the room is very comfortable and clean. The staff was very helpful and they speak very good English. The pool is an extra bonus. I would surely recommend it especially if you hire a car and need parking.

It's away from the city centre but it was an advantage in our case as we could also travel to the west and east of the city without having to enter the traffic area.

The hotel is more of a motel, in my view, and a very good one. The reception staff were bilingual in French and English and probably other european languages as well. The hotel isn't grand but has everything you need for a short stay and it is very handy for Floirac - Arena and the Clinique Tondu - or as a stopover on the trek south. The pool looked very inviting but the weather didn't suggest it was warm enough to use. The rooms are fitted out with all the essentials and there is adequate space even with the v. large bed. Breakfast was help yourself and offered a wide range of items from lovely bacon to gluten free bread. The receptionist is on hand to help and re-provide items. The coffee was very tasty. All in all a surprisingly very good hotel.

What a surprise. We were just passing through Bordeaux and this place was really lovely and we ended up staying an extra night. The space was comfortable, the breakfast was really nice (they even had gluten free bread and alternative milk!). The pool was small but perfect and it was a good location to be outside of town, but still close enough to check out the town. The staff was really friendly and spoke English really well.

We arrived at around 9pm and there wasn't anywhere to get food from at the hotel or locally and we could only get a drink whist someone was on reception. When they left for the evening there was nowhere to buy anything from. We ended up using an App to order in food which was OK but it would have been nice to have been able to get something on site.

Excellent accommodation and patio area with swimming pool. A most enjoyable stay with lovely, helpful staff. Good value for money. very good breakfast and the evening dining facility - very good. The hotel refers to room service dinners in ‘bottles’. We had a delightful dinner with five friends on the patio - the dining was from an adequate menu of ‘ready meals’ from the frig. via a microwave.

Distant from Bordeaux but 24 euro taxi ride is workable.

Very nice hotel with spacious rooms. Very confortable bed and airco. Quite location just 20 minutes away from Bordeaux. Close to the highway so ideal for stop overs. The swimming pool was a blessing in August. Breakfast was good. Friendly staff.

The hotel does not have a restaurant so you always need to take the car to go for dinner.

Breakfast was very good. For us the location was excellent as we were not staying in a city but a small town which felt”very French” and a pleasant walk nearby to Latresne. The staff at the Brit were superb and deserve to be well appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them and they were helpful in every way.

Our bathroom shower area would have benefited from a bit of TLC.

Very Good hotel and plentiful breakfast. Nice clean large room and knowledgeable friendly staff. 4 miles or so drive to nearest tram park and ride gives easy and cheap option to get into Bordeaux with day pass 5 euros. Lovely bistro/ bar in village if you want to eat nearby. Would go again.

Shower a little cold in morning after we both used it.

The hotel has everything we needed, in summer it would be a great spot. Loads of parking too which was great. Check in staff was really nice too. It is a really nice building too. They also informed us straight away that we left something in the room, you don't get that often

The only thing I thought odd was the tea/coffee/hot chocolate making facilities with no milk. Everything else was there just not milk

We received a friendly and helpful welcome to a clean, modern hotel. It had all we needed for an overnight stay with a bright and functional room with a shower. It was great value and the breakfast more than enough to set us up for our onward travel. Lots of free car parking. We would be happy to use it again and recommend it to others.

Not a problem with the hotel, but out of season dining in the local area is limited.
