Ace Hotel Chateauroux

The Shower room smelt quite bad when we arrived and the w.c. flush kept running after being used. I realised the trap to the shower was where the smell was coming from so I ran some water in it to fill the shower trap and the smell disappeared soon afterwards. When I flushed the WC more than once this seemed to stop it from continuing to run after flushing.

Room, spacious & clean. Breakfast was all one could wish for. I would like to thank the male staff member for helping my disabled wife in collating her breakfast needs. Thank you.

1. On arrival I asked the receptionist if she would please put two small cooling ‘bricks’ in the hotel freezer. She adamantly refused. I’ve travelled the world & this is the first time I’ve experienced a refusal. It may be sufficient for me to seek a different hotel in future. 2. The shower doors don’t keep out water sufficiently resulting in water seeping on the bathroom floor & making it a slip hazard.

Stayed here 2 separate nights while driving to South of France and this has everything you could need from an overnight stop. Large, secure carpark. Quiet practical rooms. Decent breakfast. Couple of restaurants nearby where hotel guests get a discount. Large supermarket a two minute walk away with petrol station and laundry facilities

Good hotel, very convenient

We have used this hotel on many occasions, and previously have been able to enter the hotel between 1 and 2pm. This is no longer allowable. As Brittany Ferries have stopped their Portsmouth to Le Havre, we have to travel to Caen, and as this boat arrives at 6.30am and the journey to Deols only takes 5 hours this hotel is no longer an option, which is a great pity as it is in all other respects perfect for us.

Parking adéquat. Restaurants locaux et plats à emporter. Bon double vitrage - proche de l'autoroute mais sans bruit. Adequate parking. Local restaurants and takeaways. Good double glazing - close to the motorway but not noisy.

Le wifi était médiocre, c'est pourquoi j'ai donné une mauvaise note pour les installations. The wifi was poor, so I gave the facilities a low rating.

Great location just off motorway, good parking, large room. breakfast has a good selection of drinks hot and cold, cereal, bread, cheese, ham, pastries and jams.

dining room at breakfast was far too hot. machine noise whirring every hour or so outside the bedroom window.

Location was king. The room very good for a. Wheelchair guest. Adequate comfort. Staff very good. Breakfast also good. Keep up the good work!

An automatic door, please. Pushing my wife in a wheelchair & trying to manage the door was a bit difficult.

Perfect location for a stop down to the south. Just off the main road. Open 24 hrs, we arrived just after midnight. Rooms were spacious and clean and for one night - perfect

I wouldn't bother with breakfast - there is a boulangerie at the Carrefour across the road.

Room was spacious, bathroom again adequate. The bed very comfy and generous size. Air conditioning was very welcome as the outside temp was 30 degrees. The only downside was no USB port to charge my phone. Breakfast cost very reasonable with varied choices. I would stay again.

No USB port in the bedroom.
