While traveling through France to our summer destination in Spain, we did a overnight stop in a farm in Chevigny Region. The owner remolded his barn into family rooms and received us, like he was receiving his own family. Kids could play (feed and clean) the animals, we gather fresh chicken eggs (it was still warm!!), and he gave homemade baguette and cheese! Just with a single detail: Monsieur couldn’t speak a single word in English -we did all the exchange using Google translate ! He asked us if you could cancel the trip to Spain and stay with him. ❤️ It was tempting. We said our goodbyes with the promise to go back there! I wish more touching souls experience like this one for our world today. Full of gentleness and kindness. I was in deep need of that. Mercie !

We had to leave the place.

If you want peace and quiet, this is the ideal place for you. Tranquil, with stunning views, a very comfortable room and lots of outdoor seating space. We hadn't realised quite how remote Chevigny is and when we asked our host, Thierry, about local restaurants he explained that there was nothing really close by. Instead, he proposed that we visit the fruitiere in the village where we could buy some Comte cheese and he provided eggs, bread and tomatoes and we were able to prepare what turned out to be a mini feast (the fruitiere also sells butter, pate and some charcuterie) in the guest kitchen. Breakfast was excellent with one of the biggest selections of home-made jams we have ever encountered. This is definitely on our list of places to return to.

We had a wonderful stay in this rural idyll. The kids loved playing with the puppies and seeing the goats, sheep, donkeys, horses etc. Beautiful gardens and hanging chairs meant we spent a lovely lazy evening reading and relaxing while drinking in the beautiful views. Plenty of games and equipment to keep kids busy outside. The family room has been lovingly crafted out of wood and stone and is a comfortable, roomy and quiet place to rest. It even stayed cool despite temperatures in the low 30s outside. We all slept really well. Lovely evening meal and breakfast with lots of delicious local products. Generous host. Thank you.

A quirky rural idyll providing the perfect pet-friendly break en route to the south of France. Surrounded by fields and woods, this is not the place to come if you are looking for fancy restaurants and an exciting night life (which we were not). You feel as if you are miles from anywhere (which you are) but in the capable hands of proprietors who are at one with the land, lovers of animals (they have 9 beautiful dogs, many goats and foster a number of children from deprived backgrounds).

Accessing our bedroom directly from the breakfast area was less than ideal but not a major issue for us

The host Thierry was very friendly and welcoming and the property was located in a rural setting with many rescued animals by the host. I think family with young children will particularly like it. Thierry upgraded us to a family room which was full of charm and spacious. As we arrived on Valentine's Day, it was impossible to find anywhere to eat in Dole in the evening and Thierry kindly offered us a simple but delicious 3 courses sausage and chips dinner with local wine and liquor as aperitive for 25 Euro each. Particular highlight and surprise for us was meeting his 9 golden retrievers! All beautiful, handsome and well behaved dogs. Not sure what our golden retriever felt though🤔. Definitely will return just for the golden retrievers 😊

In dark winter days, it may not be easy to drive to Dole in the evening through the unlit country lanes but we were spared from this with the kind offer of dinner by the host. The breakfast was a bit simple consisting of one croissant, a baguette and few slices of cheese, coffee and orange juice

Nice location 7 km from the cycling route and a very nice host. Being cyclists, it is very nice to finish the day with a location where dinner is served and breakfast supplied. Here,it was done very tasteful with many local products like jambon, marmelade and cheese. I recommend this place for cyclists especially..

The location was great being about 20 minutes to dole and within an hour to Dijon. The host was very friendly and personable. Even though we could speak very little French, and he wasn’t able to speak English, we were able to communicate and understand each other. When things got beyond our means, Google Translate helped. We were offered the opportunity to pet his large number of rescued animals and help get them out in their respective areas at night. When we arrived, we were welcomed by the most friendly dogs who every time you would arrive back would be there to great you. The room was comfortable and breakfast was nice every morning. We would love to go back.

The host, M. Thierry, was wonderful: greeted us with a cold beer - very welcome after a long day's drive. A nice aperitif before dinner, followed by a simple, but very tasty dinner. Breakfast was wonderful - delicious local cheeses and homemade jams. Beautiful, peaceful rural location - a few farm animals to add some colour.

Lovely hosts, very beautiful place with animals and garden. My dog loved it there, too! She got to roam freely on the property and play with the puppies there. Also nice opportunities for walks in nature and great parking spaces right by the buildings.

The room had christmas decoration and the bathroom was very simple.
