ibis Calais Car Ferry

Fenced and gated car park. We asked for and were allocated a ground floor room as my wife had injured her leg. Comfy bed with extra pillows provided in the room. Good bathroom. Evening meal was fine. A very pleasant patio for a drink. Breakfast fine. Short, well signposted drive to the port. (Turn left out of car park, right at junction and turn right immediately to pick up sign posts)

Room was compact. This may not be representative of all rooms. I don’t think there is a lift but check this if important. No sign of air con in our room. Not a budget hotel but apart from evening meal not a lot better.

The staff were very helpful and we were allocated us a ground floor room on the outward and return journeys. This meant far easier access for us with our Golden Retriever dog and managing our overnight luggage. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable including the bed ( King Size) and quiet. The car park was free and the breakfasts were excellent. We would recommend The ibis Car Ferry Hotel to anyone. A special thank you to the reception staff and a very helpful cleaning lady who helped us with our luggage as we coped with our dog during our exit to the car on the return journey to the car ferry. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Restaurant is open late. after a long trip from Southport in the north of England we were looking for dinner at 9:30pm. No problem here.

Proper hotel vibe, did not feel like a budget. With bar and restaurant with staff available all the time, not just reception. All spoke good English but responded well to my attempts to speak French. The room was basic but bigger and better equipped than most budget rooms. Large and excellent bathroom. Restaurant had good varied menu with excellent prices and the quality was high. We ate and drank here rather than take the long trip to the commercial centre and were glad we did. Price and atmosphere was good.

No aircon, although window did open fully. Location was sparse and industrial and having a derilict hotel opposite did not create a great impression. Well out of the town so for evening entertaInment a taxi was necessary if you planned on having a drink, or a 40 minute walk each way to the main centre. Decor etc in rooms is a bit tired and obviously quite well used so could do with a bit of a lift but quite acceptable

Breakfast was exceptional, room comfortable enough and very inexpensive. Location good for our return to UK. Quiet area, easy to find.

disappointed that the evening restaurant only opens Monday - Friday. We used this facility last year (on a Monday) and was looking forward to repeating this again. However we arrived on a Sunday to be told it did not open on the weekend. I feel this was a great loss to the hotel as the car park was absolutely rammed . It took the shine off out stay slightly as we had to go looking for a restaurant ...... and it was raining. Small gripe but I felt it needed saying

Location was ideal for us. We wanted an early morning start to our continental road trip so booked the Ibis Car Ferry Hotel as it was close to Eurotunnel, had private parking, was a reasonable price and had good access to the motorway network for our upcoming trip. It’s an Ibis so you know what to expect. The staff were friendly, welcoming and spoke good English which was just as well as it was easier to converse than rely on me and my schoolboy French. Mental note to self - I must try harder. Rooms were spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. Continental breakfast in the morning was a buffet and consisted of croissants, breads, cereals, meats, cheese and eggs etc. with orange juice and fresh coffee. Excellent. I would have no hesitation in staying again.

Super friendly staff, super clean room, much comfier bed than expected. Very basic yes, which explains the very low price. But they really saved in the right areas to offer such good price (no kettle in room, smaller TV which works perfectly fine, no posh furniture). I have been in many top end hotels in my career and really liked this one a lot- top staff, couldn't be cleaner, comfy bed and super friendly to my dog, too. No extra costs for the dog either, I will definitely recommend to my friends/ colleagues/ family and come back myself. Super close to the car ferry, less than 10min drive from on the boat! 100% recommended.

Nothing to moan about, literally perfect if you don't expect a spa.

Warm welcome, clean room and good choice of evening meals at fair price. Room overlooked secured car park but triple glazed so no noise. The hotel has had a facelift so looked fresh and tidy though the fire doors on each floor looked worn and could have done with a lick of paint. We chose this hotel as only 8 minutes from ferry port, which was easy to find with sat nav, however the receptionist did give us clear instructions and it was well sign posted so could have managed without. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and good quality products.

Water pressure wasn't great if you like a power shower but the shower head was wide . I suspect this is deliberate, as alot of hotels now are trying to be more "green" , minimising washing towels etc and saving the planet!! It wasn't an issue for us but it might be for someone with long hair having to wash, condition, and rinse off.

No fuss but everything you need for an overnight stay after a long journey. Great having a restaurant. Being able to to take my dogs and walk them nearby. Close to Eurotunnel for onward journey and later check out time of 12 great as it fitted with our crossing time.

A little hot overnight but we didn’t bother to use temperature control. Flashing overhead smoke alarm. My mother mistakenly went to the wrong room and it opened up using her key.
