The property is set right in the middle of the old town in Aix-en-Provence- there are more restaurants to choose from that, and you can count, and many places to shop. We arrived on Thursday and there was a very large market in the town Square that included some live singers moving around to entertain- it was fun! When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted warmly, and this very ancient building was once a convent in the 11th century, and the view from our window was across from a beautiful church. The women at the front desk were helpful and kind, and coffee was available any time throughout the day and night. You will step right out of this hotel onto the cobblestone streets of the old village, amidst a lot of activity of locals and vacationers alike. The nights are peaceful and quiet, and the windows kept our room, silent and dark when we were sleeping. The hotel communicated very clearly about parking, and where to go, as you cannot drive right up to this hotel. The lift/elevator is small don’t bring large luggage. The stairs are beautiful, steep stone. We loved our stay, and we’re very glad to have visited this hotel! The hotel communicated very clearly about parking, and where to go, as you cannot drive right up to this hotel. We did see a taxi waiting for someone in front of the hotel, but it appeared that most people coming in and out of the town were parking in the public lot which cost about $25 for 24 hours (nearby).

Beautiful Hotel which has been renovated to maintain its history. The staff were extremely helpful and the Hotel is in a great location being a 5-10 minute walk from the bus station and located in the old part of the city.

The only factor to be aware of is being in the old city there may be noise late at night. (high student population?). Nevertheless keeping the windows shut certainly reduced the noise, but made the rooms a little stuffy.

Great location in a historic old building. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room and bathroom were very large. There was an elevator but vey easy to take stairs one flight up. The room could be noisy with street noise when the window was open but I closed the window and used AC at night.

Being an old building it was not sound proofed, could hear footsteps above and toilet flushing from nearby rooms. Our deluxe room was very large with a sofa sleeper and a twin bed in addition to the queen bed. It would be more suitable for a family with children. There was no sitting area with small table and chairs (as pictured on the website) because of all the beds . The breakfast was Ok but only are there one morning. My husband likes hot food like eggs, bacon or sausage.

I loved the decor, the fact that the hotel is inside an old monastery. The staff was very friendly. There is a good selection of both sweet and savoury for breakfast.

The pictures of the rooms were a bit deceiving. They all are beautifully decorated with a stunning backsplash. Unfortunately, our room was quite simple. There are also pictures of a balcony, but was never specified that it is connected to a specific room and not for all visitors. Perhaps I misread some information. Nevertheless, we still enjoyed our stay.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. Our room was on 3rd floor and was very comfortable and exceptionally big for what had been called an attic room. I loved the ambience of the old monastry, with the exposed stone walls the wrought iron bannister. the 3 story height over the reception area and the stained glass window. The hotel was very restful and quiet at night

A small bar was something I had thought would be in the hotel, though we could have had a drink on our return from our night out in Aix from the concierce.

What an amazing hotel. So beautiful and historical. The rooms were very clean. Some discolouration on the grout in the bathrooms, but the room was a bit older. Still absolutely lovely. Our window opened up to the rooftops and church tower and we could listen to the bells ringing after services. So quaint. We had already been traveling quite a while and the staff did our laundry for us at a reasonable price. The hotel has a bar and you can have a glass or bottle in your room. We bought ours at a vineyard and got glasses from the bar. It was right in the middle of old town near the square and there was coffee and croissants a few doors down and a pharmacy right across the street. Perfect place to stay!

This old hotel is in the center of AIX, so it is at the center of the action. The room was small and very basic but it was in town. Parking was difficult, a place nearby that was hard to get to, and hard to find. But you could get a flavor of the town by looking out the window and the huge beautiful town fountain square was a minute walk away.

Rooms were dated and simple but everything worked. Staff was ok. We went out for breakfast but it was available at the hotel. Next time in Aix we will look harder, but it was ok.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the hotel. It has an outstanding location. We had a Superior room and it had lots of space. The hotel is an old convent and evidence is everywhere, which makes the ambience outstanding. For guests driving there are nearby public car parks, which require a couple of blocks walking.

This is a little picky and a minor inconvenience, but the bathtub/shower could be re-engineered. It was typically French, but that's the problem because it was impossible to use the shower and keep the water in the tub and not have lots of it on the floor. A standalone shower would be a great improvement.

We loved our quick stay, the location was perfect and so central. The staff were so kind and helpful we were very impressed with everyone we interacted with. The room was small but surprisingly quiet for the location. Great windows to block out noise at night. Easy to go explore at night or markets in the morning. Reeda (not positive spelling) went above and beyond to help and be friendly.

The only suggestion I would have is it was probably our least comfortable bed for the 2 weeks in provence. We joked after that it felt like a box spring. But the other pro's outweighed that and we would stay again.

A very beautiful building & interior. The staff were more than helpful & very pleasant to deal with. The location was excellent, with rapid & easy access to all of the important sites in the city.

The room was very small, indeed it was smaller than some of our budget hotels back home in Ireland. The shower was difficult to use. This was due to the small size of the bath, combined with the curved base, which made getting a firm standing, a borderline athletic feat! The location & layout of the breakfast buffet was not conducive to ease of access or to smooth circulation.
