Hotel Stein Colonial

Very nice location, on walking distance from basically all high quality amenities you wish for, bars restaurants, very good gyms. Its save clean and lovely surroundings including a couple of min walk to the vibrant Rio de Cali, museums and other main areas. They also have a laundry service and good security.

The matrass was too hard! They need to chance those, then the hotel gets a 10!! The doors you have to slam to close as you cannot turn the knob because its a locking mechanism which does not allow you to turn the knob when you leave the room. In general the hotel is very private.

There’s lot to like about this hotel. the location is perfect. Easy to walk into the center of Cali, San Antonio or Granada, it’s perfectly placed in a quiet neighborhood in the middle of these. The place has the feel of an interesting sprawling colonial house, and the pool area is cute and comfortable to spend time in. The place is well-staffed, the breakfast is swift and of good quality, and my room was comfortable. The walls are thick and I was able to sleep well. The shower is hot, and though the room lacked air-conditioning the fan was sufficient for temperature for me. There was a water cooler placed near reception and jugs and glasses to fill up.

The only thing lacking was air conditioning, but that really wasn’t a problem for me.

Felt welcome and kindly treated all the time, the staff is so nice! Its location is perfect, near all main attractions and many restaurants within walking distance. Stein’s restaurant offers various breakfast options, a fixed and cheap lunch menu but also a la carte with fair prices and good quality. Will be back without any doubt!

Mostly, its facilities are well maintained but don’t expect any luxury.

Breakfast was ok, with fruit, juice, coffee. Should offer more arepas or more bread (1 medium arepa per person) but flexible with people with allergies (gluten free and dairy free drinks upon request) super friendly staff, clean room.

Rooms should offer hair dryer per room (they have 2 for the whole hotel guess, one didn’t work) and more bread/arepas during breakfast. The menu stays “basket of bread” but is not really offered.

I loved the old world charm and decorations for Christmas. I ate most of my meals at the restaurant and found the food to be tasty and an eclectic mix of German Swiss cuisine with a local flair. The owner's son lent me a book to read about the original owner of the hotel. Fascinating story.

The staff and I spoke with gestures and a little English. They did an excellent job of explaining how to find the places I wanted to visit.

An older colonial style hotel that nonetheless offers a pretty comfortable stay. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water. WiFi signal was strong. Breakfast had nice options. Safe area and walking distance to the nicest sights in Cali. Great location. Hiked the Tres Cruces trail as the trailhead was very close to the hotel.

Check-in was strict at 3 p.m. and not a minute sooner.

This is located near the downtown area of Cali. Walkable to the nearby park and the riverwalk. I liked that I could drive right in with my car and park it--no cumbersome garages to deal with. The building was a spectacular old building with a ton of history in it. I felt like I was walking through time. The rooms were well appointed and clean. I would recommend this for a stay in Cali.

The bed was a little stiff, but it was fine for a few nights.

Overall, good enough+ Place is run professiobally and the staff is very helpful. This was our second stay after 2017 and quality of the experience was as good as last time. Great breakfast, pool is nice but not for the smallest by themselves. Min depth 1.5 mts.

There's very little to criticize. Place is clean and functional. It's not according to latest design standards but those chain hotel rooms w/o any soul you can find 13 in dozen. It doesn't hurt to know few words spanish, since not all employees talk english.

Very unique building, impressive architecture. Staff was super friendly, very professional, and on point. Secure, clean, comfortable. I was spoiled by the breakfast, eggs cooked to order or other good options. Plenty of fresh fruit and juice. Very good coffee. WiFi, hot water, A/C, all the things that some hotels struggle with worked fine.

Amazing place. Beautiful building, nice staf, beautiful garden. We loved sitting by the pool and enjoying the garden. It is an oasis within a busy city. We had a 3 person room with entrance from the patio. Very quiet. Rooms close to the street mag be less quiet. Would definitely come back.
