Sandman Signature Ottawa Airport Hotel

Location is fine if you have a car. I am familiar with the Ottawa region and I much preferred to stay in this area as it is quieter than downtown. With a car, it's only about 10 min to get anywhere.

I would've preferred that housekeeping services be done daily. You had to hang a sign on your door before 10 am to request cleaning, otherwise it was not done. I think this is unnecessary as many guests are still waking up close to that time, and many may worry about cleaning staff entering the room so early while they are getting ready for the day, so it makes one hesitant to hang the sign.

I loved the style of the architecture/decor. Ample parking! Lots of restaurants in front of the hotel. Check in/Check out was simple and quick. Room was comfortable, with well-equipped kitchen and sitting area with fold-out couch.

My pet-peeve: slow-to-drain sink - which I experienced in the bathroom. It's a shallow sink to start with, so any water accumulation is going to be annoying immediately. WHY!!!?? was this not reported by those who clean daily? If it was reported by previous guest, why was it NOT resolved before booking for the next guest (me)? And most importantly, now that I have reported it upon my departure, would it be attended to and remedied before the next guest??

I have zero complaints about this hotel and the services. I’ve stayed a few times now, and every time it is a pleasure to stay. Beds are comfortable, rooms have efficient space, rooms are clean, staff is very friendly. Despite the distance from shopping centres and other attractions, the location of this hotel is perfect - Starbucks a short walk away, including a variety of restaurants.

Only issue was that the pool was very small, meaning capacity would be limited as well to accommodate guests.

The property was great! The staff was amazing and we enjoyed our stay.

When we booked with booking.com we didn’t realize that we would need a credit card for the deposit. Thank goodness the manager was able to accommodate us and we were able to stay. It was very upsetting when they told us that there was nothing we could do about it. Every other hotel we’ve stayed in we pay an extra night and get it back refunded when we leave. Not everyone has credit cards.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. We have stayed in other Sandman hotels and have not been very pleased. This hotel had a brand new and modern feel to it. Close proximity to airport. Conveniently located to Chop Steakhouse which we ate at and was excellent.

Coffe dispensers in the lobby were depleted by 9:30 a.m. and not being refilled. There was nowhere to get water to fill our water bottles. Front desk said they ran out of water bottles as an alternate option.

I loved bringing our Dog Ibis as he is an intimidating-looking Looking Dog and 0 aggression in him was welcomed without any issues which we are very grateful for. My mom who arrived from the Airport had No issues with her Shuttle Pick up and Drop Off, with a very short ride. We got to spend more time together Mindrul was very helpful in th wiile process, from first email to check out. Amanda McGovern

The location was great for us. The room was clean and staff was helpful when we had a problem. We were first put in a 2 Queen room when we had booked a King room. The mistake was fixed immediately and we were put in a King room. We were very glad to change rooms because the hotel was filled with high school students for track and field and it was very loud and noisy. Our new room was quiet. We ate a Chop Restaurant and it was delicious.

Very clean and inviting. Perfect location for us. Close to restaurants and easy access to main roads. . Staff was very friendly and helpful. I really enjoy a soft bed and the bed was so comfortable. The little kitchen had everything we needed. I also enjoyed the robes that were provided. Our room came with a small balcony to enjoy the outdoors if you wanted.

The couch for TV watching was not comfortable at all.

Location of our hotel suited our needs with family nearby perfectly. We were upgraded to a kitchenette suite which we appreciated very much. The soundproofing of our room and walls was impressive as we expected to hear all kind of noises being on the first floor but instead was a state of near silence.

Room upkeep could have been done at least twice in six days rather than only once.

Excellent location of the 416 with a variety of restaurants 10 mins from Carleton University. Love the small hot tub, exercise room, and pool.. very clean and modern Chop Restaurant is located right inside the hotel.

1 set of elevators can make it hard for those who require access and luggage. We took the stairs many times and we were on the 6th floor. I suggest requesting 1st floor if accessibility is an issue.
