An excellent buffet breakfast was included in the room rate. Attentive staff topped up coffee and orange juice and the selection of foods was very good, with excellent quality. The house is beautiful and the grounds/flowers well maintained and attractive. After dinner drinks on the patio were lovely. Good internet.

Our room was a bit noisy - near the ice maker and we could hear water running in other rooms (likely during showers, etc). Not sure this can be corrected in an older building and it was not a big problem.

We stayed at the Idyllwild Inn for one evening while passing through Central Ontario. We very much enjoyed the history of the building and appreciated the efforts to restore it to his former grandeur. The staff were exceptionally friendly and the accommodations were quite nice. It was very convenient to have a fine restaurant in the building along with breakfast being provided as part of the overnight room rate. This inn is located in very reasonable proximity to some of the quaint and upcoming areas of downtown London in addition to being in proximity to several of the historic sites that we visited on the day that we departed. I would like to commend the front desk staff for addressing a concern that I had in a very forthright and respectful manner. We would recommend the Idlewild Inn to our friends and family and will return if we are back in the London area in the future.

Due to a mechanical problem with the room on an upper floor that we were originally supposed to occupy, we were placed in one of the only two rooms on the first floor of the Inn. Unfortunately, the first floor is very noisy in the evening due to the proximity of the rooms to the front desk and the restaurant. If at all possible, we recommend that you avoid the rooms on the first floor due to the high likelihood of noise during the late evening hours.

-Beautiful old building with a lot of character. -Spacious, tastefully decorated room and large, recently updated bathroom. -Gilchrist and Soames toiletries in bathroom. -Fridge in room. -Beautiful dining room with interesting menu. -Complimentary breakfast, which included a decent mix of hot and cold items. -Pleasant staff.

-Heritage building so pipes and air conditioning are a bit noisy but not so much that it was a problem. -Enormous door key that was inconvenient to carry around. -Parking lot is very tight.

The old world atmosphere, the exceptional kindness and competence of the staff, the quality of the meals and the high quality shower. The nice view from our room. The superb outdoor dining options. The beautiful front gardens. The excellent location in a safe area of town and pleasant community, but just minutes away by Uber from the centre and the university.

The breakfast is rather 'bare bones'. The food is good, but for instance, there is no possibility to order an omelet. There are no specialty breads/buns. And the sugary pastries are not really what one would ideally like at breakfast. But this is just a detail that does not detract from the overall, high quality of the place.

As ALWAYS, our visit to our "home away from home", was most memorable. Our long time friends come from Windsor and we all love meeting up at this beautiful INN.  The accomodations are lovely, pristine, comfortable and well appointed. Every staff member is welcoming and most hospitable. Jackie and Sarah added to our breakfast experience. Great personalities and made us feel like friends. The food was delicious and a perfect variety to choose . It is by far one of our favourite places to visit.

It needs to be said that guest parking on site is limited. This property doubles as wedding venue! This causes ZERO parking on site for Paid guests of the Inn.Parking is available down the street, but we found that very disrespectful! Maybe that's where "the wedding photographer" should be ask to park not your paying overnight guests!

We loved everything about our stay. The host on the night shift was so cheerful and pleasant even though we arrived at 1 am. The dining room and porch were both comfortable places to have a nice breakfast. Every interaction with staff was genuinely positive. Oh and the shower was amazing! Perfect pressure and plenty warm. We would love to visit again.

We have stayed with you on several other occasions and have always had a good experience. We did not stay for dinner this time, but did enjoy a very good breakfast in the morning although the portions were too large to finish.

We were able to enjoy drinks in the lovely private room off the foyer, however there were a couple of issues. My wife ordered a six ounce red wine which was not only unmemorable, but overpriced at $15.00 per glass. I ordered an Old Fashioned which was not one of the better ones I have had. The server however was very friendly and we did not relay these concerns to him.

We loved our time spent with you at the Idlewyld Inn and Spa these past 2 days (Sun Oct 24 thru to Tues Oct 26). It was not our first time with you, nor will it be our last! Our life long friends who joined us, They were celebrating their 40th anniversary. The Prosecco and chocolate covered strawberries (extra romance package, ordered by their daughter) were greatly enjoyed. All 4 of us said the strawberries were the best we have ever tasted. Everyone of their staff were authentically welcoming and helpful. It felt like "coming home hospitality". The accommodations were so lovely, pristine, comfortable and well appointed. Our breakfasts were absolutely delicious and the service first class!
