ibis Charleroi Centre Gare

Close to train and bus station so easy access to travel to and from airport and other places of interest such as Brussels and Bruges. Nice shopping centre close by and some good restaurants or fast food if preferred

Building work/ excavation going on outside of the train station. This wasn't a problem over the weekend but early start on Monday morning meant the noise levels increased greatly and so you would have to be aware or prepared for this if staying during the week. It would have been much better to have had tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

It's close to the train station and bus station which makes it ideal to get to brussels by train or bus, this meant that it was a cheap hotel and we could easily get to brussels

When we entered the room in the little hall way where the bathroom was there was no light and as it was dark out we couldn't see until we put the main room lights on so would like to see a light in there aswell

Opposite the railway station in an ideal position if your touring by train. A 6euro bus ticket from the airport and bus stop at the station meaning a 17 minute back to airport. Bbc1 on the tv! Breakfast was a very good choice and started at 6.30 am.

Given that this is a budget hotel I had no dislikes though lighting could be improved in the room (306).

- Good location (next to the central station and the airport bus station and close to the city center); - Very good heating system and large bathroom; - Friendly staff - helped us change one of the rooms smelling heavily of tobacco and also to book a taxi;

- The rooms were cramped and pretty outdated; - Old stains on several surfaces (furniture, for example).

Very nice location, city centre, nice breakfast, helpful staff (reception), fast check in and check out, hotel looks nice and clean. Comfortable bed.

It was very loud outside till late, also you could hear your neighbors. Room needs little renovation, no plug by the bed, everything looks old, same as all city. But probably this is how all Charleroi looks like. Charleroi is a big city, however very dirty, sadly rubbish was everywhere, it's not a hotel's fault obviously but it is a big minus.

The room was an ample size for a triple. You could see the hotel from the front of the train station and it was only a few minutes walk to the shopping centre and main street where bars and restaurants could be found.

Only socket was hard to use as it was located under a desk. Bar closed at 10:30p.m (earlier than other Ibis hotels)

I stayed in this hotel on various occasions and it has been always the same standard of the rooms. I like the 3rd floor facing the train station,but this time I didn't know they had construction site in that whole area so it was not very nice.

Apart from the construction works going on, I must comment on the charging outlets. There was none near the bed not even near the desk room 304. Yes you could have plugged out the TV. After some thorough search I found two plugs but inside the wardrobe!!!! I hole was cut in the wardrobe and there I could charge my laptop. Not really convenient.

The hotel is situated vis-a-vis the railway station. It is standard IBIS quality. You have everything that you need in your room. The air conditioning was working perfectly. The room was just enough that you felt comfy. All in the hotel was clean. The breakfast was OK. You have different choices to pick up, and you will not stay hungry. The staff was very helpful and polite, for sure a nice hotel for staying in Charleroi.

A resonable value hotel conveniently situated for the centre of Charleroi. The main shopping centre and city square are 5 minutes walk away. The reception staff were helpful and friendly during our stay. This is obviously not a new hotel and doesn’t have the modern feel of an Ibis Styles, however the room was clean and perfectly adequate for a single nights stay, and the breakfast buffet was good.

Lack of power sockets in the room.

If you come from Brussels Airport by direct train it has a perfect location right across from the train station. And if you need to leave next day from CRL Airport there is a direct bus just on the oposite side every half an hour that takes you directly. The rooms are clean, bed comfortable, bathroom a bit smelly and if you need hot water for tea you can get it at the reception. Also the iron and ironing board. If you want to take a taxi to the CRL airport they book it for you at the reception for 15e.
