Joondalup Resort

Room was clean, comfortable and had a lovely balcony. Bed was very comfortable, felt like home.

Restaurant was very average and it wasn’t very clear that only “bar food” was available Sunday to Thursday. Staff member was rude when I mentioned my surprise. We had been looking forward to a steak. In the end we ordered the pizza which was less quality than a dominoes pizza. Nice location but I’d recommend going out to eat. We elected to include breakfast in our stay and that was as you would expect however only scrambled eggs (ok for me but not if you want another option”.

Spotless and large room, superb meal, attentive restaurant staff, warm welcome upon arrival and departure, value for money and golfing facilities were excellent. We have already booked a return visit.

Bar staff at The Alcove were less than welcoming and quite unfriendly, choosing to ignore us and others waiting to place an order. They could see you waiting and would turn their back and clean the glasses instead of serving. I asked a question about a beverage and was told ‘I don’t know’. Didn’t even bother to ask her colleague. Very poor customer service. We had breakfast at Cafe 28 and the member of staff that (eventually) delivered our food was downright miserable and rude. She asked a question that I didn’t quite hear as I have hearing loss, she then said, abruptly ‘I didn’t ask you that!’ Happy to give further details that would identify the employee, but privately.

Breakfast buffet was great and up to expectations. King-size Bed was very comfortable with crisp white sheets. Room was clean. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Gardens were beautifully manicured. The entire hotel was quiet and peaceful. We would have loved to have stayed longer!

Bathroom in our room had tarnishing on plumbing and markings on tiles/grout. Outdoor furniture on our balcony was a bit dated and old. One of the pool gates needed fixing, it was taped up, and glass fence around pond was damaged/cracked. Paving & pathways could be pressure cleaned. The exterior in some parts could do with a fresh paint

Rooms were clean, and a good size. The bar/restaurant service was fantastic, we ordered a pizza and had a couple of wines/beers overlooking the pool which would be amazing in the summer months. Buffet breakfast was lovely, all the food was fresh and topped up/replaced every 15-20 mins. Coffee machines made great coffee.. and the resort was beautifully tucked away inside massive grounds. You wouldn't know you were still in Joondalup. We both had such a lovely getaway

To be honest, didn't realise the walls were quite thin between the rooms, so could hear the neighbours and no doubt they heard us. That's the only negative feedback though

The reception was great because I had arrived early by 3 hours and I was allowed to move in. This gave me an opportunity to have a round of golf. I stayed 5 nights and had full use of the facilities. However I used the gym once. Small room with the usual equipment. Breakfast was delicious as was the dinner that I used every night. The staff everywhere were always nice and helpful and always smiling.

I wouldn't have stayed here if I knew that I couldn't get at least 3 rounds of golf. I had one in 5 days. I had an issue in the dining room where someone had complained about noise from my table. I was by myself watching a comedy show on my tablet while waiting for the food.

The staff were excellent and went out of their way to accommodate a late meal - we arrived from the airport after a long flight and wanted a snack and drink - the restaurant was kept open for us, facilitated by a young lady on reception who was incredibly helpful. Also at breakfast I was eying the coffee/hot water machine - we are tea drinkers and like proper tea, the young lady asked what I needed and promptly made an excellent pot of leaf tea! The room was spacious and comfortable, the location easy to find despite it being dark and there was a good ambiance around the resort - we'd stay again.

Minor comments. The room was hard to find in the dark (and with jet lag!) but our own faults as the lady at reception offered to show us the way and we refused - could do with some brighter lighting. There was only shampoo/conditioner in the shower and be nice to have had shower gel as well.

Lovely setting and perfect if you fancy a spot of golf. Room was of a good size and comfortable although a little dated. See below comments. Food also good and enjoyed a change of scenery by having lunch occasionally at the nearby golf club. Pool is a good size and never too busy during our stay. All in all a lovely little holiday within our holiday visiting family.

Possibly a little dated and could benefit from a some refurbishment. Food was good but still can’t get over how early the restaurant and bar closes but it seems it’s fairly the norm in the Perth area. Pool was good but could benefit from softer cushions on loungers or a change of lounger.

We really liked the location of our room, where we could sit on the verandah in the shade and watch the birds. The breakfast was very good and we also thoroughly enjoyed the one dinner we had at the resort.

The coffee machine in the breakfast room was a real challenge to use. In addition, the washing machines only took AUS$ coins, which we could not put onto our hotel account so it was quite a faff (and expensive) to withdraw a much larger sum of money from the ATM to then get a bunch of coins for the washing machine.. but at least the tumble dryer was free to use and the reception team gave us laundry detergent too.

All the facilities were excellent, great size pool and perfect temperature. Room was a great size and lovely view of the garden. Checking in and out was seamless, free parking was a great bonus. All food we had was delicious especially breakfast buffet. I had trouble with the coffee machine and without having to ask a staff member recognised and immediately offered assistance. Will definitely be back.

Could do with more chairs around the pool as these filled up quickly. Nothing else to fault otherwise!

Loved our stay here for a sports fixture in Perth. The resort was clean, tidy and had a relaxed vibe/feel to it. Pool was nice and we liked the restaurant and accessibility to the pool area etc from there. The parking was plentiful and right outside our room.

There was 3 of us in the room and each day only 2 towels were supplied each day, so missing that attention to detail (but we just asked for more so not a big drama). Secondly there was a little bit of mould (patches) on the bathroom ceiling/high on wall - this needs to be addressed and some actually just wipe off - could do with a re-paint.
