Best Western Olde Maritime Motor Inn

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Olde Maritime Hotel. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and happy to help with any issue, or to provide additional items, if requested. The property is located close to all facilities that might be needed for a week long stay. Magnificent!

I found that there wasn't really anything that I didn't like about the room, as all requirements that I needed were in place already. Two items I realised would be handy to have were not in the room on arrival, however, I asked the staff, and they were happy to provide the items to me, for the duration of my stay - being a fruit / cheese knife, and a non-slip shower mat.

Room was perfect for my photography editing home base as I travelled the region to cover motorsport events across the two weeks and returning to the room late after each event, it was awesome to be able to jump into an instantly hot shower. Other places I’ve stayed at doing similar events, I could not say the same of.

The tiniest of grievances was the lack of a couple of bowls, spoons and forks for my BYO breakfasts before I started each day. It’s not a huge thing though and the only negative aspect of my stay (easily resolved with my first trip to the supermarket 😊).

All the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble and they clearly enjoy their work. The room was absolutely spotless and the bed was lovely and comfortable. It's a great location for walking to the beach, the RSL and the town centre. We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, both meals were good quality with a decent range of food and local wines on the menu. Staff in the restaurant are knowledgeable about the food and wines and happy to make amendments to meals where possible. We always stay here when we are in Warrnambool as we find the service and level of amenities are consistently high. Thanks for making our short holiday extra special.

Wish we could have stayed longer! The only improvement I can think of is having the more casual bar menu available in the restaurant.

The room was very excellent very comfortable, it was a good size room, bathroom was so big we actually had a seperate bath. we couldn’t believe we had only been there for 1 night and when we got back to our room the next day we found that it had been cleaned which doesn’t really happen when your only staying for 2 nights. Staff were excellent very helpful, answered all questions we had. i would highly recommend booking there, we will definitely be going back.

Nothing wrong with the place.

The room was pristinely clean and beautifully presented. The restaurant food was exceptional, thankfully not a huge menu which was perfection in itself. Breakfast choices were varied, covering every dietary need and everything was again cooked to perfection. Daily newspapers were ever present as you entered the restaurant at breakfast and the location was perfect for either walking or driving to various venues around town.

The staff here were lovely people. Very kind and welcoming. We ate dinner here and it was great. The location was awesome - just across the street there was an adventure playground on the water that the kids loved.

There are no elevators to the rooms on the 3rd floor so we needed to carry our bags up. The room also had a loft bed and the air conditioner was not strong enough to reach the loft and it was hot sleeping up there.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. My room was extremely neat and tidy. Bathroom was modern and very clean. It was no trouble at all for staff to call a taxi for me which arrived quickly. Checkout was easy.

My only comment here would be that my back was a bit stiff in the morning. I'm used to sleeping on a Sleeping Duck mattress so I guess anything else feels less comfortable. I did sleep well though.

although busy generally quiet, location convenient, good parking. very pleasant staff member who assisted in the laundry.

unexpectedly small room made it difficult to store personal items and clothing. had to ask for toaster, plates and cutlery which were supposed to be supplied. unsure if room was vacuumed sometimes as there appeared to be crumbs and bits of leaves on the floor.

The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. Even though my room was the one nearest to the reception area, it was still pretty quiet and I wasn't affected by any noise per se. The location was very convenient as it was a stone's throw away from the city center. The staff was extremely friendly as well. When we checked in, the staff told us that the whales came in. Thanks to his reminder, we were able to go rush down to the beach to go catch the whales (and we did see them!).

The place looks a little dated but perhaps this was the theme of the place?

Location was excellent for places to visit. Very close to the Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum. The beach and cafes are also close. The drive to Port Fairy was only 25 mins. This hotel makes a great start point if you drive the Great Ocean Road from west to east, visiting the Museum first to get information on what you’ll see on the drive.
