Park Regis Anchorage

The reception staff, were fabulous and very accommodating, after my husband had a medical emergency two days into our 8 day stay, which resulted in him being admitted to hospital for 15 days and our stay being extended to 20 days.

The manager was grumpy and not very welcoming or friendly. Angela the head cleaner was great, the others, not so much. I didn't need my room serviced every day, so I was disappointed that when they did come in, they did the absolute bare minimum, with some of them seeming to have no real idea on what they should be doing.

The location was excellent.

The unit was okay but the money we paid I would have thought the lounge would have been a lot more comfortable, there are springs or something that when you sit on it they feel like they are going to stick up your bottom. We spent most of our time sitting on the chairs as the lounge was very uncomfortable. The washing machine stops at the last spin and you have to move it on and then when it spins, it doesn’t spin all the water out . The clothes are dripping with water!!! Exhaust fan in the bathroom is needed!!!

Staff were so helpful. We were there for the Townsville V8's and were only a 20 minute walk away. Apartment was very large with balcony and terrific view out over the marina. Palmer Street had numerous dining facilities, Ferry terminal close by and also the bus Terminal was about 10 minutes walk away, so everything was really handy. When Qantas cancelled our flight back on Monday we were worried but Park Regis went out of their way to accommodate us for another night.

Unit was clean. Reception Staff went above and beyond to help as my plans looked like they were going to extend due to bad weather, luckily I didn’t need it but they had me sorted in an upgraded room for the original price of the cheaper unit and they didn’t have to. Cleaning Staff also went above and beyond to make sure I was happy (everyday) with my towels, toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, coffee, sugar, milk and a freshly tidied unit.

Only thing, that I didn’t care to much about because everything else was so great was the internet.

Apartments very handy to restaurants and easy walk over Victoria Bridge to CBD. The pool was quite pleasant for a cool off. Bed was very comfortable and the laundry within the unit was appreciated. Good large deck out front and great parking

The unit we were in had an interconnecting door to the next unit which let quite a lot of noise transmit through. The smoking on that balcony was a nuisance as the smoke drifted into our unit

My room is 2 single bed but each bed has good size which is good for big guy (well i am not big) and 2 pillows each. Nothing cooking facilities or microwave, there are refridge & jug, a hotel room which is good enough for short stay. Walk-in bathroom, my window facing empty ground and the city, quiet, clean. I was allowed for early check-in 11.30am 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Palmer Street is known for restaurants/cafes and 3-4 stars hotels so it is definitely safe area.

Great location! Opposite the marina and an easy walk into town. Good choice of restaurants close by. Staff are lovely and helpful. Secure parking was a bonus. Great balcony and good to have kitchen facilities.

Sofa bed was lumpy and had definitely seen better days. Ok for one night but was not great for any more. Pool is very small and is on the road, so a bit 'public'!

When in Townsville I choose Park Regis because of location and size of hotel complex. I also like to choose the apartments which are generous in size and has the convenience of like being at home with cooking facilities and laundry. At the end of the day the accomodation is affordable and prefer affordability rather than being priced out of the market.

The property is beginning to show signs of wearing and I believe renovations are taking place. Some of the dispensers in the bathroom are not refilled/broken. Chair on the verandah broken. (Nuts and bolts loose) Again the accommodation is affordable and I prefer to put up with those slight inconveniences rather than being priced out of the market

The location of hotel is excellent. Opposite the maritme musuem and marine and 2 minute walk to restaurant and bars. We had an apartment and it was very spacious with great views over the marina. The greeting we got on arrivial was great, excellent customer service!

I couldn't connect to the wifi, but that wasn't the end of the world! That was the only negative point.

What I particularly liked about the Park Regis was how friendly and helpful the staff were to me when I advised that I had a late flight and whether I could get their help to wait in their Pool area until I had to leave for the Airport. They let me borrow a towel and were really lovely in making life much easier for me - so rare and special to find! They also stored some food for me in their fridge and what could have been a very uncomfortable day being hampered by luggage or spending hours at the Airport, turned out to be a really good experience.

The Park Regis is not a new Hotel and therefore the decor is a little dated, but given their very reasonable pricing given the standard of the facilities i.e. huge room and balcony, great shower etc. this would only be a negative if people were expecting a slick newly built hotel. For the price paid it was exceptional value!
