Castle Crest Motel

The location was excellent for us as we were overnighting prior to an early flight out. Access to the motel is via a quiet backstreet, not the main road. The parking area was clean and freshly painted. There is even an undercover break-out area where other guests were playing cards when we arrived. Our room was spaceous, modern and clean with a full-sized fridge. We had a lovely outlook to Castle Hill. We left our window open and did not notice any traffic noise at all.

Many of the rooms are on a first floor accessed by stairs. This wasn't ideal as we had heavy suitcases. However it is a single straight flight of stairs accessed right from the parking area so it wasn't a problem.

Location and staff amazing. Very convenient, no need to get rental when everything is walking distance for the main things.

Just a minor thing, week long stay and my towels not changed daily especially when we swam a lot, other than that great location and pool was enough. Needs a coin changer for the laundry tho

The motel was in an excellent location and had plenty of free parking. Our room was really big with a lovely big bathroom and shower. The WiFi was superfast and it was good having the small kitchen in the room. Denise was so kind and helpful to us and made us so welcome. I can't recommend this motel enough!

Nothing- everything was great!

Great hostess, Chris, was filling in for her vacationing sister. Very warm and welcoming. Gave us great advice on what to see and do during our limited time in Townsville. The motel was very clean, comfortable and in a safe, walkable neighborhood. It was quiet and provided free parking at our door. Our room was spacious and well-appointed and everything worked.

The property was pristine- best motel I’ve ever stayed at! Sharon was incredibly friendly and accommodating and keeps the place spotless! Rooms well appointed with fridge, toaster, dishes and good storage space. Laundry area also spotless. We’ll be back when we visit Townsville again!

Nothing the manager could do but being so close to the road there was a bit of traffic noise

I liked that it was clean and quiet. Although warm when we visited it was only about a ten minute walk to the Strand/sea.

Not much to not like about the property but they would of rated more highly from me if they checked our room daily to see if coffee or toilet paper needed to be replenished.

It was very clean and tidy. It's also walking distance from a nice fish and chips shop and from the start/finish of the Townsville Running Festival. The manageress was kind enough to allow a late checkout so that I could have a shower after running.

They were very helpful, from taking my last-minute booking, to facilitating an extra night's stay (also at short notice). The location was good and room facilities were perfect.

Only 2 of each type of cutlery/crockery is provided, be prepared to frequently wash up!

The manager was very friendly and recommended a couple of local spots to us. The location is perfect, walking distant to Strand. The room was very clean. We have two double beds for 3 of us (a couple and a young kid), which were sufficient for us to sleep comfortably.

The shower screen was not completely sealed and caused a lot of water leaked on the bathroom floor. The next day the manager brought extra bath towel to absorb the extra water, which solved the problem. Thank you.
