Excellent location across from the lagoon pool and next to the Night Markets. We had the deluxe room which was beautiful and spacious. The bathroom was huge. Everything was clean and modern. We couldn't fault the room or location. A lot of reviews complain about the lack of car parking. When I booked it was obvious that there was none so shouldn't be a surprise. Luckily we we able to get a parking meter across the road for the two nights we had a car and on check in we had also been offered a spot in a neighbouring building for a fee. Helpful staff booked an early morning taxi to the airport for us.

A few days after leaving we were accused of damage to the room which we didn't do. We had a really good stay and would have happily stayed here again, but now I won't.

The location was extremely convenient and close to everything, it was very easy to walk around Cairns for food and any sightseeing such as the aquarium, art gallery, Rusty’s markets and a range of different restaurants and cafes. The beds were incredibly comfortable, normally you miss your own bed when you are away but I didn’t this time around. Staff at reception and in the rooftop bar and restaurant were lovely too.

As I was on the 4th floor and my room was located directly under the rooftop bar/restaurant, there was a lot of disruptive noise during the evenings when trying to sleep and from 6:00am onwards. It mostly sounded like chairs dragging, people, music and kitchen noise which is completely understandable, there was also a lot of noise from the esplanade at times. This was fine for the most part and I managed without any issues but it’s definitely something to consider. I’m sure the staff would have been more than happy to move my room if I asked.

The beds and room were comfortable, and Emma on Reception was extremely helpful particularly when Brenda required medical assistance as we had to call an ambulance on our first night of staying at the Oaks.

Unfortunately, the staff in the restaurant area require customer services training. Happy Hour was not that happy, the Irish lady was quite rude, and her mannerism needs attention. Being wintertime and with the area not being weatherproof against the wind and rain made it difficult for people to enjoy their food.

The ocean view! Location and the room were very nice and we loved the rooftop restaurant and bar! The food was good and the view was amazing. We were in walking distance of our Great Barrier Reef tour departure terminal which was super convenient.

There was some noise in the morning from the upstairs restaurant that woke us up. The bathroom had no exhaust and the room had no windows that opened and my partner got sick from stomach illness. Our room got very stinky for nearly an hour.

Cleanliness. Very well located near the port and the lagoon. The room was very confortable with and incredible right temperature at all times. Also, I think that as there was room availables, the room I got was better than the one I booked.

One from the staff when I arrived at the hotel was low comunicative. But there was no disrespect. It just missed warmness. I read that some people didn't like that the room had no window, but I think that as my room was upgraded as there were vacancies I did not have the problem. But I think that if that is the case, I would not have enjoyed so much the stay.

The location was amazing right across from the public pool (which is beautiful) and close to the esplanade. The rooms felt like they were recently upgraded and although wasn't huge was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The included breakfast was really lovely as was the view and atmosphere at Oak and Vine. I was a bit worried about parking (no on-site) but I always got a park right out the front, even with the esplanade bring closed due to the busy ironman event.

If I'm beimg super picky: The air-con units outside were a bit noisy but really didn't affect me much. For breakfast take your sunnies as the Oak and Vine restaurant doesn't have much shade in the morning (a few umbrellas or similar would be helpful).

When we checked in it was after hours and we were met right away, so friendly. They room was very large, it was a 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen, laundry room, 2 bathrooms, dishwasher and the wrap around patio was outstanding! Right across from the beach, lovely view and we had the peaceful sound of the fountain out front. Hugh sliding patio doors let in a lot of natural light and air. It was so close to the market, Surfer’s Paradise, you could walk everywhere. we also rented a bike, that was great fun. There is a lovely path to walk or ride a bike or scooter.

We loved everything, it was a little dated with the furniture, but I felt that added to the charm of the place.

The rooftop bar was stunning, I took myself on a date for one and enjoyed the pasta dish. The bed was so comfortable, the bathroom was delightful and so clean and modern. The staff were exceptional and so helpful - I asked for a late checkout which was granted and I was so grateful. I sat out on the guest balcony after check out for a few hours while I waited to check into my next location.

The price was a bit steep as it was easter holidays and the weekend too - my friend had stayed the two prior nights in the same room and she paid 150dollars less than I did which I was a bit disappointed with but I had no other choice as I couldn’t find accommodation for these two nights that I stayed. There was a bit of a funny smell from my room - a small bit of sewage smell which I didn't notice when I was room only when I would reenter - it wasn't very pungent just a bit noticeable. The pasta dish was a bit too salty for my liking - but nevertheless it was delicious.

The location is perfect to base yourself to explore the esplanade and wharf precincts and it's only a short walk to the Casino in the event you feel like making a donation. The Oak and Vine rooftop bar is a must visit just for the views across the harbour with Green Island clearly visible on the horizon. The tempura prawns were delicious as was the breakfasts and all reasonably priced.

Checking in to the hotel with bags is difficult as there is no reception parking and you have to find a free (if you can find one) or paid parking spot until you can arrange off street parking in the adjacent building with reception staff.
