Lake Central Cairns

Loved location, it was opposite Novotel which made booking tours really easy. Three car rental agencies either next to the accommodation or two/three shops away. Convenient entry, swimming pool was naturally shaded by trees (depending on time of day). It was a clean place. Beds were comfy though I wish pillows weren't so soft (personal preference). Maria was super friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend for location, great value for money!

The property is a little dated but in such a convenient location. 10 minute walk to waterfront, 15 minutes to all boat tour jetties, restaurants, leafy parks & gardens. We felt safe in a secure property, requiring a code to enter from the street. 5 minute walk to bus stop to go anywhere in Cairns & up to Palm Cove. Get a weekly pass from bus driver, very affordable. Staff very helpful & friendly.

Air con only in bedroom but ceiling fans. I image it would be very hot in summer.

Although rooms are not new they are very clean and have all facilities for comfortable stay. Kitchenette we didn't use but was clean and well provided. Room was nice and quiet well back from main road. Location is ideal with waterfront, cafes, restaurants, car rentals, major shopping centres and railway station and main bus stop within easy walking distance.

Trivial but room had polished wooden floors and a carpet rug would have added to comfort, also, would have appreciated a reading lamp next to sofa.

Everything, met by owner Maria who made me feel very welcome. Room was spacious, lovely couch to relax on and watch T.V. Had a nice view out onto the street, loved it. This location is so close to the CBD and attractions, no need to drive for me, just walked everywhere, everyday. Maria you are a gem, thanks for the chats and being so helpful to me. Maria even left her office to come and say goodbye to me as I waited for my taxi, you gotta love that. Thanks Maria see you next time.

My room had all that I needed, there wasn't anything I didn't like.

It's cheap and cheerful. Very comfortable bed. Huge room. Amazing shower. It's older style but spotlessly clean. Maria was incredibly flexible allowing an early check-in and a later check out. I originally booked one night, however, I extended my stay for a few more. You can't beat this location. It's a family run hotel and I wish them well for the next tourist season.

The aircon is an old box style. It's a tad noisy, but not enough to be disturbing. The room is so big and airy, I was very comfortable turning the air con off at night. It's an old motel style feel. A small soap and towel. Mugs, no glasses, international roast coffee, and bushell's tea. These aren't negatives. However, I feel these are some things that guests may whinge about. Currently a powered camping site in Victoria costs more than this hotel. If you stay here and whine, then you need a reality check.

Maria ensured that we were moved to a ground floor room ( wife has bad knees). She ensured that we were OK and that we were aware of the cleaning days.

What I didn't like was the dripping kitchen taps and the hard turn off to stop them dripping but we used the drip to fill our water bottles. The pillows were too soft and one was lumpy but I'm used to a firm pillow so not

We like that the Hotel Was close to everything and that the Staff were very Helpful. The Beds where commutable. Really Like the Space of the unit as well.

The Internet kept Dropping out all the time and made it hard of a night time to find something to watch.

Room was exactly as expected. This is budget accomodation in a great location. short walk to the Esplanade and all the restaurants. Building is an older place but that was expected. Room was very clean and with everything you would need or expect in a holiday rental. check-in was easy and the staff were very friendly.

The location was excellent. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was huge and clean albeit a little dated. Perfect for our needs and in walking distance to everything we needed. Would definitely stay again. Very good value for money.

the hospitable service Maria and her family had was incredible! thoroughly enjoyed staying here, the location was legit central, easy to navigate around the city, by foot, car or public transport. Beyond reasonably priced, and the rooms were clean, and adequate. Thank you so much Maria, we will be back 🤩🤍
