Meriton Suites Herschel Street, Brisbane

View was excellent, overlooking the river. The room was clean. Full kitchen, very roomy and housekeeping was very attentive. Staff was exceptional, Cynthia was professional, pleasant and took care of us. We would return again to the Meriton and will seek other Meritons to stay in our travels. Thank you!

Not one thing we disliked. One small comment, a roll of paper towels for the kitchen would be appreciated, minor, minor!

The hotel was fantastic. The suites were clean and very comfortable. The staff were amazing!! After a 30 hour trip from Canada we were able to get an early check in. Thanks to the Meriton!

Conveniently located, a great spot to see the fireworks! There was an error with our booking and at first we were worried that we'd have to pay for a premium upgrade that we hadn't authorised. Thankfully the Manager was a lovely lady and able to assist us with a beautiful suite at the price we had expected to pay.

It was a pity that the windows were dirty, especially considering we were there to take in the views of the Riverfire. It would have been nice to have a spare blanket for the lounge, a throw or something like that. Otherwise, it was wonderful.

room was spacious - the location was excellent - and the view was spectacular even from the 20th floor although the floors above were all residential up to the 54th floor - The staff were always cheery and helpful possibly due to the residents not bothering them so much as us tourists with 20 questions

building work was ongoing to a skyscraper close by which could impede future views and shame the windows were dirty thereby spoiling any photos of views - The lack of a safety mat in the shower is a health and safety issue which a pound a night extra would easily solve, as would an easy setup for airconditioning on the hotel arrival sheet would save having to callout staff

From start to finish we were so impressed with our stay. Served by the lovely Paige on day 1 we got to check in very early and given a suite on the 71st floor. The view was spectacular. The teens were happy with their own rooms, each with a King bed. It has everything you could possibly want or need to make your stay very comfortable. By the 3rd day we needed more amenities which you can request at reception. What stock they didn't have, they had it delivered to the room. Nothing was too much bother. The service was professional and friendly. I would definitely stay here again. The accommodation is so close to Roma Street station so a great spot to explore the rest of Brisbane. Loved our time at the Meriton on Herschel Street!

love the location, the front desk who tried to give me a better room since i was there for 4 nights. room is bright, spacious though i would love to open the windows

housekeeping. big issue with all meriton suites i stay in. they need to put some thought process in cleaning. i stay for 4 nights but they choose to clean up the afternoon before i leave and give me stack of towels and refills. why i und if its it is 1 cleaning service every 3 days but it doesnt make sense to do before we leave?? also the housekeeping is inconsistent. i wasnt given any dishwashing liquid, or laundry cleaning products. the housekeeping in SYD was the same. i always find things missing and have to request.

The room wasn't as roomy as I thought it would be. I guess I'm just comparing it to the one we stayed at in Southport. The room had no city view unfortunately. The location served the purpose of our stay and close enough to walk to the Queen St Mall where we enjoyed dinner and shopping.

We were not told that we would have to walk our luggage to a separate off-site parking lot. So had to lug our luggage there. It still cost $40 per night for parking. We could not access the parking lot at ground level entrance because the doors don't open, so had to walk down through the underground parking area to access the lift to a lower level to get to the car.

Location was quite good. The unit was lovely. The facilities were good. The dry sauna was lovely.

If you book via booking.com you don’t get a daily room clean. The showers are built in a way that your whole bathroom floor then ends up soaking wet. The shower also had some severe corrosion around the base, allowing for further escape of liquid. The fan doesn’t work, and all the towels get used cleaning up the water. You tell the front desk, and they assure you they’ll get someone to look at the shower. Of course that didnt. over 3 days we had a growing pile of soaking towels, and no one to give them to. The spa was lukewarm at most. The jets were lacking.

The room was a corner room but contained bedroom ,bathroom ,kitchenette ,cupboard laundry and allotted living and dining room. The bathroom had plenty of space for both of our travel wash bags to be set up and stored easily.The bedroom had heaps of storage space and a safe as well as side tables with a bedroom TV. The room was on the 10th floor on the Roma street side and noise was heard through out the night but it was bearable as we were a couple blocks from the Queens street city shopping .The hotel was across from the Roma street train station and a few blocks from the foot bridge to the Library and Arts centre so in a really accessible space in Brisbane . The staff was friendly and being trained but even after a week's training we found her attentive to our needs and requests and luggage storage . We read the room info and it didnt state we had to let the desk know we required a speed clean as it stated it was done daily so if you stay and want fresh towels and new coffee pods and tea then let the desk staff know as you leave for the day of sightseeing. The hotel was close to river so you could probably ask for a room facing that way as we took a free tour of Brisbane from the water and the hotel is visible from the river .Many eating places nearby and the gardens were close for a refreshing visit .Our car rental place was only 15 minutes walk away and a few loading spots infront of the hotel enabled us to load and leave the hotel on our final day,All in all it was a really nice palce to stay and covered all our needs and the staff were helpful and friendly .

The dining room was smaller and more cramped than expected and the bedroom carpet had stains and tears/pulls near the cupboards on entry. The bathroom wasnt attached to the bedroom so it was acessible throught the dining area . The internet was annoying to use and enter details consistently when it dropped out on the supplied tv .The dining table in the dining space limited access to and from lounge and bedroom to bathroom and front door .The coffee and tea supplies for two day stay was less than expected .A couple of the linen pieces in the bath room before use -appeared soiled and had pulls-also unexpected for the price paid to stay.

Nice spacious apartment with good facilities including washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. Good location very near railway station and main shopping streets. We liked the way the lifts worked!

Very poor communication process! We sent several messages saying we would be arriving at 4am (by train) on the day after we were to check in (i.e. we had paid for the full night) - all of which generated the same automated and irrelevant response, completely misinterpreting our message. It was extremely difficult to get contact details for the individual property we were staying in (but when I finally did manage to contact them, the message was dealt with quickly and effectively.)
