Colonial Palms Motor Inn

We had a wonderful stay. Room and facilities were clean and in good order. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price and enough to eat. Restaurant food was exceptional with GF options! There was an area wide power cut and the staff were very organised and managed to get their generator going within a short time. Other hotels in the area were still in darkness, so our place was well prepared. Would love to do a return visit.

We bought dinner at the Palms Restaurant which is part of the Colonial Palms complex. It was absolutely delicious. I chose the rib eye fillet and it was cooked to perfection. The quantity and quality of the sides was great. The room was quite comfortable although the bed was a double, not a queen. There were two reasonably comfortable chairs and a small table in the room as well as a table and two chairs on the balcony. The bathroom was adequate.

As part of our booking a continental breakfast was included in the tariff. We had to catch the boat at the marina to travel to a Whitsunday island. We needed to depart the motel before the restaurant opened for breakfast. I enquired about having a breakfast box (e.g. just a croissant/muffin and small tub of yoghurt which would be served with the continental breakfast) but was told flatly that they do not have room service. I wasn't asking for room service, just a box to pick up at reception as we dropped our key. We have travelled to many countries and if we needed to depart before the breakfast session we have always received a breakfast box. As I stated it was included in the tariff. This was the disappointing part of our stay.

Breakfast provided was very basic and not the freshest of ingredients. Does the job and can pay extra if you wanted hot food (which we didn’t do)

restaurant with breakfast onsite, continental breakfast included, restaurant great for dinner, p[rices okay and meals ok as well. Glutenfree bread was supplied if you asked for it. washing machine/dryer on the premises nice pool just outside the rooms clean, older facilities

however if you wanted a proper brewed coffee you had to pay for it. should have at least filtered coffee and herbal tea included in the continental breakfast not cheapy black tea bags and powered coffee, standard should be a slighly higher. re rooms, they should have a drying rack in the rooms if you dont want your clothes in the dryer or hang up your towels. was expecting more professional stuff sitting at reception not backpackers who dont even know the area.

The room had a lovely gated balcony overlooking pool which was nice. I really liked the ease of access both to the room and right to pool from our balcony - It was one of the best set ups for us having kids, very easy! The hair dryer was superb, not a little pocket one but a full size good brand!! The soaps I did like and my hair is super long and felt great after using them. The breakfast in morning and service was amazing… they went above and beyond. Shane and his wife were so accommodating and made our mornings at breakfast with the kids wonderful and relaxing.

Room was a little small but comfortable

A pretty quaint little hotel - we loved it! We needed somewhere to stay on the final night of our trip and the hotel location just across the road to the Ferry terminal was perfect and we easily walked over to get our ferry to Hamilton in the morning for our flight. We were upgraded to a suite and the room was extremely spacious, basic but very clean. The hotel has a great little restaurant - complimentary continental breakfast was more then adequate and the evening meal we enjoyed the night before was extremely tasty. The wait staff were charming and the young lady made a great cocktail! The hotel also has a very peaceful pool area. All in all great value for money and two very happy guests.

Good location, clean and comfortable. Daily breakfast included was a real bonus, the restaurant has a lovely outlook. We had a studio unit for the first 2 nights but were lucky to be upgraded on our third night to a larger apartment with a separate bedroom and better facilities due to a booking error. We would choose the larger apartment if we were staying longer/again.

Our studio unit was in the less desirable part of the resort, closer to the busy main road.

Lovely view from the balcony, overlooking the pool and beyond to the marina. Loved the included continental breakfast, a bonus. Bed comfort was good, balcony furnishings were very good, tea and coffee provided, together with long life milk. Wi-Fi was excellent and included. Staff were extremely helpful.

I am a Best Western member and when I produced my card at reception, she didn't have a clue about the program, hence I didn't receive any points for my visit. The laundry trolley took up one whole undercover car space, which wasn't a great idea and look for the property.

Beautiful large ground floor room adjacent to the pool with our own little patio. Very close to the marina so when we did a day trip to Hamilton Island we could easily walk there. A close walk to the Saturday markets and the Airlie Beach Hotel and the heart of Airlie was not much further to walk. Fantastic breakfast which was included in our price and the staff were just wonderful. Really enjoyed our stay and it was also good value for money with breakfast included. Our room got a bit flooded due to a water leak from an upstairs unit and the staff were on to it straight away. Order a 'Kylie special' if you get a chance to have a drink at the bar!!

The pool was a bit cold.
