The Edgewater

The view from the terrace was beautiful. I was expecting it to be bigger from the pictures. I was also under the impression I booked I would have a 🛁 and shower. Never had. The parking adjacent to the hotel.

The signage throughout hotel was horrible. Had no clue how to navigate within the hotel. Couldn't find the lobby, 6th, the bar..on 1/2nd floors?? I walked in circles on these floors.Valet parking was never clearly marked. No map or folio in the room explaining the services, food options offered or locations. The front desk attendant was MIA when I returned after checking in to ask questions. The bed uncomfortable for the price. Smell of smoke wafting in from other rooms when screen was open. Not getting the room as advertised.

The location on the lake is beautiful.

The staff was not at the level of the cost and reputation of the hotel. I do not always respond to surveys but your hotel is not from my experience first rate in terms of service. I am a pretty low tech 60 year old though I have a demanding and successful career. I was in need of a business office/ computer and a staff member said access to a computer was impossible. This has really created an issue as I missed an important communication. The person seemed to be in a supervisory position and to say he was not helpful is an understatement. He was a relatively young man of eastern european background and I hesitated going to the desk after that rather harsh and inappropriate interaction.

The accommodations and facilities are inviting, clean, quiet; and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The setting is beautiful. We really enjoyed the spa, having some space to wander on the premises and exploring the Neighborhood on foot. Having a shuttle is wonderful too!

Like many towns in the past 2 years, Madison is struggling. It is hard to see shuttered buildings that were once part of a vibrant and bustling destination.

Beautiful place, great location. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I am thinking of having my bathroom renovated to look like the bathroom in the bedroom I was staying at! Incredible 😍 Room service was very quick, and my partner and I had a great conversation about Formula 1 with the waiter. The scenery is beautiful, the food in the main building was yummy, for a great price too! also to mention the receipts of our purchases, isn’t that awesome you can see this in our room TV?!

There isn’t anything to dislike

WE LIKED THE ROOM WHICH WAS SPACIOUS. WE DID NOT USE THE SPA. THE RESTAURANT HAD AN EXCELLENT VIEW AND THE SERVICE AND FOOD WERE EXCELLENT. WE WENT TO THE OPERA AND THE SHUTTLE SERVICE WAS VERY HELPFUL TO US AS THE WEATHER WAS WINDY, RAINY, AND COLD. THE DRIVERS WERE VERY COURTEOUS. THE STAY WAS AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE.

IF THE BATHROOM HAD A TUB. MY WIFE DOES NOT LIKE TAKING SHOWERS.

Location was perfect walking distance to everything! I loved the gym space that looked out over the lake. All the food and drinks I had was incredible. The room was clean and comfortable, loved the terrace looking out over the lake. Would definitely recommend to stay here.

I would like if the weight room had dumbbells, I didn’t find any when I was in there. Also wish you didn’t have to pay to park in the edgewater parking garage since we are paying to stay there, but I guess it’s understandable being downtown in a city.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The service provided was excellent. We had room service for two nights and the food was delicious. We especially enjoyed the bread and cheese boards. The relaxation pool was beautiful.

No complimentary breakfast and the alternative is a little shop with coffee and small sandwiches to eat. However one of the mornings the computer was down and although my husband was given complimentary coffees he could not purchase anything for breakfast. The following morning we just went elsewhere. Its a pity there is no breakfast and annoying that you have to go elsewhere. It's really inconvenient.

Our room was beautiful - we had a wonderful view of both Lake Mendota and the Capitol building from our corner room. We had two small balconies to enjoy the view and the outdoors. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful, with a large soaker tub and a window view of the lake again, and heated floors. The location was also great, and we could walk to the Capitol building and all the restaurants around the square. Overall, we were very happy with the experience. It was expensive, but we were celebrating an anniversary so we planned for that.

The room had quite a few bugs... there was a sign warning of that because of the two balconies, but it was still a little unnerving. It was not a huge deal though, and was the only thing we didn't like.

beautiful room the terrace king , huge terrace although didn’t use it as was in February. great bathroom with big bathtub next to Window out to the rooms huge terrace. the hotels fitness room is great as is the relaxation pool at the hotel in the spa , Also a steamroom in the men’s locker room.

Nice employees; Room with a beautiful view.

Room was clean and neat an towels picked up, but not replaced with new ones. We called downstairs asking for new ones, but had to ask again in the morning. Also plastic water cup taken away, but never replaced. Parking garage was confusing. Promised a ride from the airport, but no one was available. I think, like many hotels they are short-handed due to COVID
