Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Emporia, an IHG Hotel

breakfast was decent. Location is great for us because it's on the way to the beach. I have stayed here on my way to and from vacation and the staff is always super nice!

No extra pillows to be had. We had someone sleeping on the sofa bed. They were able to provide a sheet and blanket but no pillows. In the arm chair in our room, there was someone else's stuff (loose hair tie, some trash) between the seat cushion and the arm of the chair. Must have been from the previous guest - just shows the cushions were not vacuumed or sprayed because when you looked at the chair straight on, you could see the stuff sticking out the side.

The staff was extremely nice. The food at the complimentary breakfast was good, plentiful, and there was a large selection of items. The room was very clean, including the bathroom. There was a closet, ironing board and iron, and a decent fridge. The beds were very comfortable. There was also a large selection of programs to watch on the television. On this trip, we also stayed at a Tru Hilton and Marriott Courtyard and they couldn't hold a candle to this Holiday Inn Express.

We have stayed here several times in the last few years and have always had a good experience. Great location, VERY clean with really comfortable rooms, excellent staff and good breakfast options. With this last stay, it was still good, but not quite as clean as it has always been. It might be under new management or something. We will still stay here because it is a good bargain & we like the rooms a lot.

Not quite as clean & maintained as in the past, however, still a very good place to stay.

My main priority was a safe clean hotel as a halfway point stopover to our vacation destination. This hotel fulfilled my expectations. The property was very well kept. The hotel was easily accessible to routes 58 and I95. The free breakfast had choices for everyone’s taste whether it was hot, cold or lite. The coffee was delicious. It also made getting back on the road easy and convenient.

The hotel is pricey but hopefully after our country finally recovers and inflation comes down so will the price for the hotel. I know everyone is trying very hard to recover from our Covid lockdown and this area is no exception. After a very long day of driving it is nice to check in and find a nice sit down restaurant. The area has very few choices unfortunately. This is my only negative which has nothing to do with the hotel.

This is the best Holiday Inn Express I have stayed in so far! When we can, we like staying in Holiday Inn Express because we have noticed that they are clean, have good staff and they are consistently a good place to stay. I think what I liked the most with this one is that it had a nice layout in the common area as well as in the room. The bathroom was spacious, with good counter space and had Dove shampoo/conditioner/bath soap with a light scent. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. The room was nicely decorated and felt very clean. All the staff were very helpful and friendly.

staff was great, especially the evening registrar (Janet) and the sweet lady who operated the breakfast buffet.

It would have been nice if the toilet worked, and when it needed to be plunged it would have been nice if they had someone to try doing it. They gave US a plunger and we couldn't fix it. We got a new room and it was basically ok. The alarm clock went nuts when we tried to set the correct time and just started counting seconds. We couldn't stop or reset it, even by unplugging. We just turned it to the wall so it wouldn't be distracting as we tried to sleep.

Tina G and the rest of the staff was very courteous and friendly.

On August 2nd, the Fire Alarm went off at 4 a.m. There was no instructions on what to do because the Hotel had no sound system in the hotel, like a school does. And even though the alarm stopped, the flashing continued for another two hours. It was stated by the Fire department that it was a faulty system and it needed to be upgraded. Hopefully, Holiday Inn upgrades their outdated fire alarm system.

I loved being on the first floor and the hotel room was quiet and roomy. I loved the pool and exercise room being there. Helpful staff.

The hallway light in my room had a short in it. If we turned off the bathroom light the hallway light went off and the hallway light would or would not come on at times. The bathroom light covers were dusty and the refrigerator would link water when I open it.

The room was clean, loved the mattress and pillows which were all very comfortable. Breakfast was super delicious, everything hot and fresh and very pl plentiful. All staff were very kind and friendly. Hotel location for us is perfect.

Our toilet would not flush well at all. The stopper in our bathroom sink was broken and closed so my husband had to crawl under sink himself to fix stopper open as best as he could so water would drain out.

Location, staff and room were excellent. Very friendly and very accommodating. Any little issue - although we had none - they wanted to know and address.

Was a little apprehensive since I read other reviews. Although they encountered issues with room, being old and dirty, and bugs. We had a renovated room and was very clean, quiet and relaxing.
