Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Lufkin South, an IHG Hotel

Great staff, definitely accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was very limited another "grab and go" - pop tarts, cookies, juice, kolaches or frozen biscuits. The rooms that had the glass door showers were the best, other rooms even though clean they could use updating. Best shampoo, conditioner and shower gel that I have use in a hotel. They are mounted in the shower (big bottles) no more struggling with tiny bottles. Keuring coffee - great. A lot of room to place luggage.

We had issues with some of the Televisions, some were having signal issues, I asked to be fixed, and it was never fixed. We stayed over a month, and you would think they would be more accommodating, but it was not fun to move rooms with all our stuff every week or so. They are always fully booked. If you are reserving through a 3rd party website, make sure that you call the property afterwards, because, I made a reservation using Priceline that showed that rooms were available; however, when I went downstair to the hotel lobby to make sure that our reservation was good...I was told that they didn't have any rooms available, that apparently there was a glitch in the system. It took me about 1 hour on the phone just to cancel. Otherwise, they were always nice and accommodating.

not very diverse, not enough at times. The front staff was amazing! rooms were spacious and clean. Needs to have more variety specially in drinks. I like the kolaches; however, some were too frozen to use. The addition of cereal of some other health choices would be nice. Also fresh fruit or yogurt would be nice.

Vey hard to book, because they are always full. Also it would be nice to give some priority to current guest. We been here over a month now, and it was very hectic when we had to change rooms for 1 or 2 nights. Trouble with televisions, and cable, not all channels were available in different rooms and requested to get it fixed. Also, it would be nice if they would offer later house-keeping for those of us, that need to stay up and wake up later.

The hotel was wonderful for the price! The breakfast bar was a pleasant surprise…we didn’t expect such variety or the amount of choices they had. Way above your usual “continental breakfast” so many hotel chains offer which usually isn’t much at all. And the hotel staff was very friendly and very helpful. It was also in good proximity to food and shopping.

Being able to follow every move of people in the room above my room(206) throughout the night & that people couldn't control their doors & just let them slam shut. I managed to quietly shut my door quietly where anyone could barely hear it. I realize this happens, but adults should be able to control.

Breakfast was awesome and the staff who worked the breakfast area worked really hard.

The cleaning staff took away the garbage can from the room. I requested my receipt be emailed and I have yet to receive it.

Very clean hotel. It seems new. Of the 4 front desk staff we encountered, 3 wore masks the whole time, even when no one else was in the lobby. One didn't; she only put it on when interacting with guests. I saw one housekeeper, and she was not wearing a mask. However, there weren't many guests there, and it seemed pretty covid-safe to me. All guests I saw in common areas were wearing masks. The room was super, super clean.

The front desk staff person who didn't wear her mask when she thought she was alone in the lobby should have been wearing her mask the whole time...not doing so defeats the point of trying to create a covid-safe environment.

I loved how spacious and nice the room was. The bedding is so comfortable, and the staff were so helpful and friendly! I also loved that the pool was open until 11pm. It's so hot during the day, but I took my toddler swimming in the evening so he wouldn't burn. It was actually pretty private, as well.

I thought it was weird that there wasn't a trash can in the kitchenette, and the shower door did not want to stay closed.

I actually don’t stay in hotels often but the last few times I did it was a lower star rating so i wasn’t expecting much at those hotels. However this stay was a higher rating and for good reason; it was perfect for what I needed it for!

Front desk staff was very friendly. Breakfast was great and so was the lady in charge of it. Beds super comfy, large rooms, and loved the showers! Perfect location near the college.

Easily accessible. Very clean from the moment we walked in.

Absolutely not qualms about our stay. overall very pleased with our decision and stay.
