General Morgan Inn

Christmas time was the perfect time to visit! The decor as we walked in made us feel like we were in an upscale NYC hotel! It was so warm, inviting, and enchanting, especially for the value. The history of the Inn is evident in every detail. The front desk associate was friendly and efficient, even remembering my name in the morning! The deluxe single room was very spacious and I loved the old charm of the 4 post bed, faux fireplace, and bathroom vanity. The heat lamp in the shower was a great amenity too! I wish it wasn’t such a short trip so I could visit the attached restaurant/bar. The menu posted in the elevator for the restaurant looked fantastic. There were a variety of muffins, granola, coffee, and fruit cups available in the morning in the lobby which was enough to get us through until lunch. The best part was enjoying it by the beautifully adorned fireplace and towering and elegantly ornamented Christmas tree. I would absolutely stay here again.

The sheets could be improved as they were scratchy/rough.

Lovely historic hotel in a small town with a lot of potential. The hotel itself is very well appointed and well maintained, and the breakfast at an adjoining coffee shop was delicious. I appreciated the complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby, and all the staff I interacted with were helpful and friendly.

I should have paid attention to other reviews noting how busy the hotel restaurant (Brumley's) can be - if you don't make reservations in advance there's a good chance you won't be able to eat there. That's particularly inconvenient because there are no other dinner places in the immediate vicinity, meaning you have to drive a few miles to eat if Brumley's is all booked up.

We loved our stay very much. The hotel was very clean and beautiful. You can tell there's a lot of history in the place. The bed was super comfortable and staff very friendly!

The absolute only problem, and it wasn't for me but for my OCD boyfriend. The shower didn't have any kind of lip, so water got all on the bathroom floor, and that drove him crazy.

Loved everything. Dinner was amazing. Cook is very talented. The prime rib that I ordered was fantastic. Keep the cook!! Oh, and one of the chairs in our room my wife wanted.

I will ask for room 300 next time. That was the first room we stayed in there and loved it. Nothing wrong with our room, 411 but we loved room 300. I think it was just how the room was layed out. The TV in room 411 was a little small for the room, we had to pull the dresser with the TV closer to the bed to watch TV. Lol

The rooms and the place over all was very nice.

We didn't like that we were locked out after a certain time. We were left outside for 20 minutes knocking on the door and calling and no one answered the phone. The key card wouldn't even open the door. We've never experienced that at a hotel before.

The Inn was more boutique than a hotel; the lobby was delightful and the fireplace a great place to sit with a glass of wine down the bar. My flight was very late and the team did all they could to prepare for my arrival (after 1:30 am).

The bed was a bit firm.

We stayed one night in this historic hotel and found it to be a beautiful place to stay and eat. The guest rooms were spacious and extremely clean. While the property is historic, it has been updated with fire sprinklers in each room. The historic decor in the bar and restaurant added to the charm. We initially had not planned to eat in house, but loved the menu, the ambiance, the friendly staff and prices were reasonable.

The hotel was lovely, the restaurant served a top quality dinner, and the design and décor truly reflected the historical significance of the inn and the surrounding area.

For the price, I would have expected a larger and more continental-style breakfast. Though the food provided in the to-go bag was still good.

Breakfast was a $7 pp credit in the lovely coffee shop adjacent. Very nice and crowded.

The General Morgan and Bramley's restaurant were great fun. Reservations should be made directly with the hotel for the best value NOT with Booking .com which adds fees!

The hotel is amazing and fun. Dinner and drinks were awesome. I wish the bed would have been either queen or king. I would have preferred to sleep with my spouse in the sMe bed!
