Extended Stay Americas Suites - Minot

First of all, I'd like to say that this place was an amazing "accidental" find. My dad and I were there for the state fair and really were not expecting a whole lot. We notice the price was substantially less than others and when we walked into the room we were blown away. There was so much additional value there compared to the price of the room, we couldn't have been happier for what we paid for!

The only thing that sticks out to me is that the pull out bed could have been more comfortable, but not sure how much more comfortable the pull out can really be. Other than that, nothing bad to say about this place.

I loved the location, it was just across the street from where our training was being held. Very easy to find and the rooms were beyond expectation! The staff was so friendly and very helpful.

We didn't get the opportunity to order food since there was no one there to make it the first night we arrived. Understandable reasons though. Very disappointed in the breakfast. I Understand that its a grab and go breakfast, but to only offer muffins and granola bars, and oatmeal. That's very disappointing. Also with the coffee, the only options for creamer was the sweet stuff or flavored. Not even any milk or half and half. I also stood forever waiting for someone to serve me at the bar, and there was no one there even though it was open.

The room was really quiet, with great sound insulation. The room had a lot of space and was comfortable for an overnight stay. It was very nice and clean too!

I would have liked a few more kitchen items in the room. There WAS a sign giving examples of items that the front desk had, and I did not ask for anything, so this is a minor nitpick and I know it was my choice to not ask for it. Since I was only staying one night, it felt like it would be a waste to ask for it just for one night, but if items had been there, I would definitely have used them.

The front desk person I dealt with was a very lovely person and very accommodating and helpful. The location was good. The hotel was quiet parking was convenient. I was able to bring my dog which is much appreciated.

I wouldn’t necessarily mark this against the property. It says more the manners of the people staying there. It’s so wonderful that they accommodate dogs on this property and several times a day I would walk my dog around the building so that he could do his potty business. There were several piles of dog poo that other people had not picked up and had just left behind, which I just think is so rude. I do think the property should have a policy that requires people to pick up their dog poo and toss it in the garbage. I can’t believe people wouldn’t naturally do that. That is my only complaint.

Because of the time of year there were plenty of rooms and booking was not a problem. The Rate was very good for a big city. The front staff upgraded me to a suite, which was nice, I enjoyed my stay as it didn't seem like just a standard hotel room. The staff did give me a ground floor as i requested so that was good. Bed was good and a full kitchen was available but you would have to purchase/rent all the things to actually cook something. I did make ice for my small cooler.

At first i was disapointed as i wanted to pay US cash for the room but they dont have a cash policy, that annoyed me. Now i would be paying the US exchange rate on a Canadian card. The fact there was not a coffee station in the room also was not a bonus as i dont like to leave my room to get a coffee. The breakfast sub standard. They did have a restaurant in the hotel but it looked like they only served frozen meals. As there were no restaurants near by.

I checked in late and had asked for a ground floor room which they accommodated me with and indicated that I could use a side door. as I parked my vehicle and was ready to go in I noticed that my keycard did not work and have to go back to the front desk. she immediately left her station to help me get in and we were able to get things worked out and she stayed with me and to ensure that I got my luggage in as she knew that I was disabled. extremely friendly and helpful and appreciate the kindness and the beautiful smiles I got it 11:30 PM

my only dislike was that the water was turned to only reach a certain degree and I like a warm shower in the morning and it just did not get to the temperature that I was used to but other than that it was great accommodations and I just love the fact that there was no carpet.

Multiple closets! Room was huge! And the coffee table with the pull uptop was pretty sweet as well. Loved the vibes of the lobby and the super nice lady working didn't even seem upset when I asked to cancel the rest of my week long reservation simply because they had no pool. Even got a full refund minus the one night I stayed of course.

Easy access to everything, staff are nice and accommodating, very comfortable homey feeling with indoor and outdoor fireplaces

We initially were only staying 2 nights, but we extended by another 2 nights ( each day we re booked on booking.com), I would call before 10am both days to inform the staff that we extended, but yet, I received a call at midnight in the third night waking me up to see if I was checking in, no communication between day/night shift. And the at 12pm on the 4th day ( the last night we were staying) the housekeeper knocked and didn’t wait for a response before she let herself in and I told the desk that morning we extended another day! Just surprised that yet there was another miscommunication

I liked the room. It was charming and very spacious and very clean. The end tables and coffee table were old and scratched but the kitchen and bath cabinets and counters were updated. Reasonably priced.

Breakfast was very disappointing. I was there at 7:30 and there was very few items in the fridge, probably yogurt but I didn't check it out so I just had coffee. No rolls or toast available and there was no one around, even at the front desk. I can't imagine how that would last until 9 as I was told breakfast was 6:30 - 9 a.m. Also, the shower didn't have much power.

The hotel staff was very nice and accommodating. The room was huge! It was more like an apartment….Kitchen, living room with a pull out couch and a bedroom. Three closets and one of them was a large walk-in. There was 24 hour complimentary coffee and ice water in the lobby. And a nice grab and go breakfast that included a nice egg sandwich that could be heated up in your microwave in your room. Also included yogurt, muffins and fruit. We literally could live there! The place was clean and felt safe. It is in an industrial area, but it was just a short drive to many restaurants and the fairgrounds. Would highly recommend this hotel.
