Feather Factory Hotel

Its really good place for the good Money. Close to two stops of subway. Little shop downstairs was appreciated.

As expected its right next to train station, so pretty loud. Doors to our room were not really “lightproof” so at night there was light coming from the hallway right to bed. Also nobody probably checked some of the food in little shop, i bought muffin and it was really moldy(which i found out in the room after i opened it).

Nice room, clean and comfortable. Convenient small store at the entrance. Easy check in and check out. Close to Manhattan by metro.

Quite a bit to walk to the next metro station in a not so nice area. Not ideal if someone wants to have a quick stop at the hotel during the day

Very clean. When you walk in a room it smells like cleaning supplies. I LOVE that. Even the sheets smell clean. The entire hotel is clean. You get complimentary breakfast which is basically $10 to spend in their “store” on cereal, 4oz juice boxes, bagel or pastry. Due to how they price stuff, you’ll probably end up with 2 juice boxes and 2 bagels OR pastries. Fine for 2 guest. But the $10 isn’t increased if you’re have more guest like the room that hold 4 etc. They have premium cable channels like hbo, Cinemax etc which you can watch movies. This room had a fridge my last one didn’t. They have ice machines on every floor. The AC/heating unit works very well. The rooms have hardwood floors no yucky carpet. 10 minute walk from the train, which will have you in the city in minutes. Quiet area I can get good sleep. Also theirs always plenty of street parking because the area is somewhat industrial.

Elevator wasn’t going to the 2nd floor my entire weekend stay so that was as annoying having to go up and down the stairs. My room was on the second floor. The beds are smaller than they advertise. I have a king bed at home. That was not a king bed. Queen at best. And the mattress was thin and not very comfortable. The front desk women can have an attitude. I know hotel prices fluctuate but I’ve stayed here several times and paid more for smaller rooms which is annoying.

Very clean, first hotel I’ve been to in Covid with this level of cleanliness. They have a reasonably priced convienece store with drinks and snacks. Etc. Complimentary coffee and tea. I was told by the front desk I received a room upgrade from one queen size bed to a room with double queen beds I think they were just out of rooms with queen-sized beds it was just me and my boyfriend.

The front desk made sure to tell me about the fee if I smoked but not about the complimentary breakfast. The front desk area reminds you of those pay by the hour places with how its set up. Their were people being loud and rambunctious in the small sitting area they have. During covid, this shouldn't be a allowed. Check in took a longtime. Idk if the guy was new or just slow. Beds are smaller than advertised I was supposed to have a queen bed, It was a full at best. The mattress is really thin and not as comfortable as I would like.

The rooms were very clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable and big enough. The view from the windows was amazing. The breakfast is all you need. They also offer free hot tea all day in the reception. We had a very pleasant stay.

It is a little bit far from the metro stations, because you have to walk the bridges.

The 15-minute train ride followed by a 10-minute walk from Manhattan was incredibly convenient, making it a breeze to explore the city while still enjoying a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere away from the bustling streets. We booked two rooms for three people, and while one of the beds was a bit small for two adults, it would be perfect for a couple. The rooms were well-appointed with a fridge, table, and chair, ensuring we had everything we needed for our stay. The standout feature of this hotel, however, was the exceptional staff. They went above and beyond to assist us throughout our stay, particularly when helping us set up a Citi Bike account for our urban adventures. The housekeeping staff was also outstanding, offering their assistance daily and ensuring our rooms were kept in impeccable condition. The option to use the luggage hold on our last day was greatly appreciated and made our departure hassle-free. The hotel's thoughtful amenities further added to the overall positive experience. The availability of free water, ice, and a variety of hot drinks in the lobby, along with a microwave for guest use, made it easy to grab a quick refreshment. Additionally, the on-site convenience store catered to the needs of both guests and locals, as we observed some construction workers making use of it during our stay. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend the Feather Factory Hotel. Its incredible staff, affordable pricing, and comfortable rooms more than met our needs. The proximity to downtown Manhattan and the airport made it an ideal base for exploring the

One of the room didn't have a counter in the bathroom. The staff left open the window after cleaning but it was quite hot but we like the heat.

Clean room and great value!

Very comfy bed, good size room for two people. The room was clean and the breakfast was good! The staff was really helpful; I was really sick on departure day, and they let me do a late checkout until I leave for my flight. Good alternative to super expensive Manhattan hotels, only a few stops from Grand Central. Thank you!

The location isn't great (15min walk from Subway), but at the same time well connected to a few stations/lines. The room where you could find the safe/iron etc. could be converted to a wardrobe, as there was very little space for us to store our clothes etc. so we had to leave everything in our large suitcases.

The facilities and rooms are very modern despite the building being a bit old. The rooms are a very good size and everything was very clean. The location is about a 6 minute walk to the nearest subway station which is convenient. There are plenty of great restaurants, bars and diners in Long Island City which is a ~20 minute walk from the hotel. The reception staff were always friendly. We had a ring accidently dropped down the sink and the staff went above and beyond in helping us retrieve it. I would recommend Feather Factory without hesitation to anyone who wants to visit New York City

Nothing was lacking. However, the location can feel a little isolated if walking back late at night. In any case, we did not encounter any issue or feel unsafe at any point.

It may not feel like it for people unaccustomed to New York prices (which is most of us on the planet), but this is a low-cost hotel. And on that basis, we were quite happy with it. Yes, there were buckets in the corridor catching drips during heavy rain, but the room was dry and the friendly staff happily provided extra blankets. Yes, it’s next to a major rail line, but the sound insulation is good and we found the distant rumble charming. We especially liked the value for money, and the breakfasts are good!

The air con/heating was a bit noisy (hence the request for extra blankets), and the room quite small, but those were no bother really. The one thing that bugged us a bit was that the mattress had a tendency to slide off the base if there was any (ahem!) movement.
