Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Amsterdam

We made a very last minute booking when winter weather prevented us from continuing our drive. The man at the desk (presumably the owner) greeted us by name and was fully ready to receive us when we walked in moments after booking. The lobby is welcoming with a fireplace and lounge, and there’s a mini mart stocked with ice cream, popcorn, headache medicine, etc. The owner was very helpful in providing us menus and recommendations for where we could get dinner delivered, and we had a pizza sent straight up to our room promptly. Wi-Fi was strong enough to stream movies, bed was perfectly comfy with crisp linens, and I appreciated the name brand shampoo and conditioner and the good blow dryer. We also enjoyed having some quick complimentary breakfast options (fruit and pancakes in our case.)

Good location, close to the Thruway. Main restaurants only 5 to 10 minutes away. Clean facility. TV in room was good. Channel options were good. Overall I would definitely stay here again. And will.

Breakfast is very limited, your standard 2 cereals, pancakes, some fruit, coffee and what not. Just was hoping for some type of hot breakfast such as eggs bacon or sausage. Wifi is just okay. Fine for general searching, but no option for faster Wi-Fi.

We’ve stayed before and had great stays- will definitely stay again. The staff was very polite and courteous. Great showers and comfortable beds after long road trip.

The only complaint I had was when I was trying to call to confirm the room and let them know that I was going to be later than expected I couldn’t get through to a live person. Either the phone would just ring and ring or it would get disconnected. In addition, when I tried calling the main number for Microtel, I couldn’t get through to a live person so that was very aggravating.

The property was Amazing. The Staff is So Awesome. Accommodating to our needs. My Daughter and I are disabled but they made our stay very easy and stress less . They always had a smile when greeting us. My favorite Person was Ms. Renee at the front desk. She is the Greatest my Granddaughter just adores her🥰. The housekeeping staff was awesome as well.

I liked that it was clean and had a modern design. Rooms were comfortable and well laid out. Staff was exceptional. It was close to restaurants and staff was very good at recommending the best places to eat. Lobby is large with lots of seating - tv and gas fireplace. Coffee and tea 24/7. Average continental cold breakfast bar. Small fitness center and computer area. Showers clean - good water quality. Very comfortable beds.

Only draw back was my room was near an entrance and the doors slammed. Person in room above was very noisy so sound proofing in building is not so great. This is a building design and does not reflect on just this location or this hotel. I have stayed here twice and would do so again.

This property looks brand new, both inside and out. The room was very clean, and spacious with a very large bathroom. The breakfast area had plenty of choices to choose from with plenty of seating, and was very clean.

If I had to look for a negative it would be that there was no pool. That would be the only thing, and I wasn't even looking for one.

Please give the staff a rise. The warm welcome by the Indian women, Lisa the star, and the man who does the graveyard shift. The cleaners especially! Also, please show some appreciation to another MVP Cassandra, who coordinated very well throughout the day. She made guest feel comfortable during their stay. Thank you!

New, clean hotel conveniently located to Amsterdam and travelers on the NY State Turnpike. The rooms were clean and very modern. They included a long, narrow counter with power and USB connections for computers and phones. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and interestingly only contained a shower, not a shower/tub combo which was fine with me. And the it was reasonably priced. A good value.

Location was not ideal for us - we arrived by bicycle and it was a VERY STEEP ride UPHILL to get to hotel. There is a liquor store and mini-mart close to hotel but no restaurant. But the hotel was clean and comfortable and we had a good night’s rest

The facility itself was very clean and well-maintained no issues with the room at all. My only complaint was when we arrived around 10 o’clock at night the guy at the desk was not as friendly as you would anticipate. He was very short and curt when speaking to us. When he answered the phone he was very dismissive to the caller- even making comments to us about the caller after ending the conversation. The next morning there was a staff member who was cleaning the rooms- he was yelling and swearing in the halls and when we got to to the front desk you could hear him cursing on the walkie-talkie. Just not appropriate.
