Our room was large and comfortable with a nice balcony that overlooked West Grand Traverse Bay to the North. The view was very nice but not a real sunrise or sunset orientation. The Queens beds were comfortable, as was the reading chair. The light source for reading was not great. The room was clean and neat, and everything worked well. The shower had good water flow and the toilet flushed properly. Check-in was quick and easy, and Zack was very friendly and informative. The lobby and breakfast rooms were large and comfortable. There was a small market where snacks could be purchased, including freshly baked cookies (free in most other inns). There was a nice exercise room and the pool and hot tub were available 24/7. The continental breakfast was OK and the Laura, the attendant, was very nice and chatty. Parking was good for a low volume occupation but could be tight if the hotel were completely booked. There was a very nice little beach behind the inn. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay here.

Unfortunately, the only time hot coffee seemed to be available was in the early morning. At every other time of the day I tried a cup, all of the pots were luke-warm or cold. The walls of the rooms must be pretty thin because we could, very easily, hear conversation from the room next door. The only restaurant within close proximity was about a 10-minute walk and across a very busy highway. It is quite a distance to the downtown area of TC but you have quick access to heading north on U.S. 31.

Location was very good. we had a water view room which was beautiful. Ellen, our check in host went above and beyond to satisfy our room selection. Very appreciative of her. Laura, the breakfast host did an excellent job at keeping good food hot and available. everything was neat and clean. Laura was very friendly and could answer questions about local attractions and activities.

Hotel had 4 room layouts and you should be aware of what they are before booking. The fees over and above the room rent was about $50.00 per night. Out of control of the hotel however. Just be aware.

Being right on the water was beautiful. The room was great - bigger than we expected, clean, and nice. The staff was incredibly friendly - I even commented to my husband how friendly everyone was because it was so noticeable! The pool and hottub being open 24/7 was also a great bonus.

Honestly, nothing! It’s a little farther from downtown than we realized (about a 7-8 minute drive) and on a very busy road, so it would’ve been a lot more work if we had our toddler with us. We didn’t mind, but if you’re looking to be able to walk to lots of places this wouldn’t be the place to stay.

The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable for our stay. The room was comfortable and the balcony was fantastic. The complementary breakfast was delicious. The shuttle was convenient to use and the driver was very helpful. The location is ideal for enjoying Traverse city and the surrounding area.

The breakfast room was small and crowded. The outdoor hot tub was not working properly, which caused the outdoor pool to be ice cold. It was too easy to hear people in the adjacent room. The staff would sometimes move furniture and other large items using the main elevator and hotel lobby.

The Staff were very friendly. Everything was very clean. Walls weren't too thin and it was hard to hear people in other rooms. The location right on the water is beautiful.

1. The pool seemed to be as cold as it could be set. The hot tub seemed to be set as hot as it could be said. It was disappointing as the pool was virtually unenjoyable and we couldn't stay very long in the hot tub. 2. I was in room 222. There were audible popping noises coming from the exhaust fan in the bathroom. There's some issue with HVAC system. Overall, it was a little annoying but not a deal breaker for me.

Good options for breakfast, eggs, sausage, pancakes, waffle, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, water, juice, coffee, and tea. Their indoor pool is open 24 hours. Great view from the room out to the water at least if your on the higher floors, we were on the third floor. They also have a shuttle service you can sign up for as well to take you different places.

Only 1 elevator so you may have to wait a little bit if a lot of people are going at the same time. But not a huge deal just a heads up. The shower was a little finicky with the lever you pull up on also.

Close to water with a great view of the bay . Caught the sunset every night . Staff was ok during check in & Check out . Rooms where fairly spacious . Beds where great . Lots of beach amenities and the beach area itself was clean . Didn't spend a lot of time in my room Note : Its also a 15.0 minute drive from Cherry Tree to DT Traverses Bay Shops & Restaurants .

Hotel is a bit dated but fairly well kept . Carpet in my room smelled musty. Had to go buy a room air fresher device . Breakfast is just Meh . Not a lot of choices of both Hot & Cold items Only went down once during my two night stay . Indoor pool , No thanks !! Outdoor pool / Hot tub seemed to always be having a game of Marco Polo going.

The room and amenities were amazing. I think we had the Deluxe King Suite. It was very spacious and updated recently. Hot tub in the room and large shower with a double sink in the bathroom. We had a walkout to the patio and could sit right on the beach eith either a gas or traditional fire pit. Nice kitchenette with water, coffee and tea. The TVs were very nice size, with the channel selection was good. Oh and laundry room on site! Coffee all day, snacks and breakfast. We would love to come back. And the staff was very nice.

If I had to nitpick, the bathroom sinks weren't well cleaned. There were no hooks for coats in the nook in the hallway (in the area I assumed was for putting on shoes). Breakfast was not terrible, but could be better. The eggs and pancakes got gummy from the heating tray. Also, I think checkout should be 12pm.

We stayed at the Cherry Tree Inn and Suites for three incredible nights during our wedding celebration at Mission Point Lighthouse. The staff were quite friendly, efficient, and congratulatory about our nuptials. We stayed in a Suite with Bay View, and it was (quite honestly) one of the best places we have ever stayed. The suite was well appointed and consisted of two huge rooms (bedroom and sitting room) with a kitchenette and large and very clean bathroom. The bed was so comfortable and the view of the East Bay was not only spectacular but also very relaxing. We were also able to enjoy the jacuzzi next to the pool. And the little beachfront, directly below our balcony, was beautiful and well-groomed. Overall, it was a perfect room for a perfect getaway and celebration, and we hope to return there for our anniversary.

The room was clean and exactly as advertised. Everyone on staff was very nice to us. The continental breakfast had simple offerings (I think they stated that would be the case before we booked) but was very good - we went one day early in the morning and one day later in the morning (half hour or so before it closed) and the food was always fresh and plentiful. Also, the dining area was always very clean. As we went in December, we did not explore any of the outside amenities. However, the view of the water from our room was great.

The only negative of note, and I would consider it a minor one, was that sometimes noise of other guests from the hallway or from adjacent rooms was fairly noticeable. Also, I found the mattress to be on the stiff side, although it was still comfortable.
