Hilton San Diego Bayfront

Fantastic location - right next door to the convention center! And easy to walk to the Gaslamp Quarter. Room had issues initially with the air conditioner, but maintenance came in immediately to change filter - great service. The text/chat feature was excellent - very responsive to everything. Room was clean, beds very comfortable. We had a bay view room - fantastic!

Initially the air conditioner was not cooling well - but maintenance came in and got it working properly. The extra fees were very high, and were not explained to us well. But during SDCC, I expected high rates.

All staff interactions were pleasant and professional. Amenities, dining by the water and bar were great. The decor and design of the hotel is inviting, the room was nice. Can’t beat the location especially if you plan to visit Petco Park or Gas Lamp Dist. Literally across the street with a skywalk over Harbor Dr., <10min walk to the park gate. Recommend valet if you drive to hotel.

It was a little pricey including valet. However it is a Hilton and they do offer daily resort credit, you can’t ask for a better location to the park. It was peak tourist and MLB season. You get what you pay for, definitely worth it for the convenience and overall experience.

The on-site facilities were very nice and was walking distance to many areas in the city. The close proximity to the water and the Gaslamp area were why we picked the hotel and it did not disappoint. We enjoyed sitting in the bar and pool area.

The ONLY issue we had was when leaving the parking garage. We paid over $40 in parking at the hotel in order to come and go as many times as we wished. We had no problem entering with our room key, but when we left, we had to wait for a remote attendant to let is out. It wasn't only us. We saw other people with the same problem. You would have to leave ten minutes earlier, just tp wait to be left out.

The place was clean and great location

The service was disappointing. First, I came with the baby and mentioned in check as well, I didn’t get the crib until about 11pm. we came back from dinner and I called to ask for it again, And then had to call again after 45 minutes. Also, in check I was told they can keep our stuff when we check out so we don’t have to get late check out, when we did we waited in line for half hour just to hear that they actually can’t. There was no pool service, the guys wouldn’t even close the umbrella for us.

On the last day I wanted to have a breakfast before taking off. The customer service representative told me that I could still use hotel parking until 2 pm using me hotel room key. I drove to the entrance of the parking and by using my key tried to get in the parking structure. The gate did not open for me to get in when I used the hotel room key. Because of that we got a little disappointed and drove to a different location for breakfast.

We loved the location and the staff and free bikes. Everyone was so kind & helpful.

That I had to pay for parking, really? And one of the valet guys out front was entertaining himself by watching the customers walk in through the doors. A dog pooped, he did not clean it and there was a broom and a dustpan right there. No, he was watching to see if anyone would step in it. Didn't even warn us.

Had to call and ask for shampoo. No cups or glasses in the room. They didn’t clean the room. You have to make reservations to use the pool. I have stayed here before and was treating my Mom this time. 3 times the price and not nearly the quality as before. I still like the hotel but, this trip lacked. When you reserve for just over $200 a night but they add on so many fees and it ends up over $300- seriously? What is a “destination fee?” Just put them in the price to begin with!

The beds were not very comfortable. I believe it’s time to update the mattress. For the price, you should not wake up with a backache or have a hard time getting comfortable. Also one of the pillows had stains. Linen needs to be inspected and discarded if stains cannot be removed.

This is a nice hotel. It's at the boardwalk on the water and next to the Gaslamp. The hotel was very clean and it's visible that the hotel has taken steps b/c of coronavirus. For example, there was a sign up for the pool area to control the number of people. I was offered a can of water while I stood in line at check-in, and was offered again the next day when I went to the front desk for a question. The hotel also had a free shuttle to the Coronado. We were given free coffee by the restaurant because we didn't have time to wait for them to prepare our order. I felt Hilton took care of us as appreciated guests. We've stayed at this Hilton multiple times because we enjoy the hotel itself, its location, and the weather which is an escape from Phoenix summer heat.

Parking is expensive. It is $40 per day. What I didn't like even more was that Booking erroneously says it's $25. That is it. Booking wants me to write more but there's not more that I don't like. We're happy with this hotel.

There was a $40/day parking fee that was not apparent when booking through Booking.com. There were also numerus other nuisance fees tacked on...thanks Cali!! Covid restrictions were excessive limiting the number of people that could access the pool, thanks again Cali!!
