Very well kept and clean, had a luxury feel about it. Breakfasts were excellent, plenty of choice and you weren't rushed. I am gluten free and there wasn't a problem getting gluten free toast or sausage. It would appear that most guests are returning ones which gives you a clue as to how good it is and how welcoming.

This was entirely our fault as we wanted a super king bed and most rooms had a king. This was on the top floor and we arrived later than we expected as there was an accident on the A1 which delayed us. We are in our 70's and struggled with our cases. We resolved this when we left by bringing them down as we were going for breakfast, then went upstairs to get the lighter stuff later. We will learn from this!

My wife and i stayed for 1 night 7th August. On arrival we where warmly greeted by the host Tony who explained everything to us and showed us the app they use.The Tower guest house is immaculately clean and you can really see that the hosts Tony and Diana put there heart and soul into it.We stayed in the Oak 4 poster bedroom and found it very comfortable.Tea and coffee was provided in the room with fresh milk ,cans of pop and chocolate bars in the fridge,you could also use the coffee machine downstairs if you wished.Breakfast was excellent with everything provided for your needs.We will definitely return here and will stay for 2 nights next time.Aigain thanks to Tony and Diana for making us welcome Billy and Alison Webster.

What a beautiful house! Everything has been done to a high standard, which makes it feel high class. Everytime we saw the owners, they were so welcoming and friendly, it's easy to see why Tower House is full of returning guests. Loved the app! The idea of controlling your rooms temp virtually is great. You can have it as warm or as cool for your return as you like. Pre-ordering breakfast on it is a great idea too.

The car park is a little tight but there's nothing that can be done about it. Bonus points for having a free one at all in York!

Tower Guest House is a Gorgeous Boutique guest house. Each room is themed - ours was in a queen Anne style with beautiful furniture and a spa bath. The breakfasts at Tower House were all cooked fresh and were delicious, lots of choice, fresh juice, tea and coffee whenever you like. In our rooms each day was chocolate, fresh milk and water, tea and coffee and sweets. A very unique app was available for guests which allowed us to order our breakfast, control our room temperature, and had lots of useful information on it. The owners at Tower House were very friendly and attentive and we wanted for nothing during our stay. All in all, our stay was wonderful and we will definitely stay again.

The hotel is beautiful, every detail thought about. It is a homely comforting feel to it as soon as you walk in. Everything easy to understand from checking in to leaving again. The app is handy for ordering breakfast and anything else you need. The tower burger breakfast is amazing! Won't be disappointed with any of the breakfast options that's for sure! The room is so comfy and quiet - everything you would need and more. The staff are amazing - the owners and the house keeping staff very attentive. Tony is a genuine nice guy who takes care of all the guests and makes it a personal experience for all. We will be staying again that's for sure

There really wasn't anything we didn't like.

Everything!! Such a great guest house. From the very first minute. Car park space for the duration of the stay free. Very, very clean through out the whole property, not just the room. Christmas decorations still up for the new year stay. The app that they use for the guests to use to order breakfast worked very well. Also the app in general was very useful. The breakfast room was spotlessly clean and very welcoming, as were the owners throughout our 3 night stay. We stayed in room 5 with a 4 poster bed and spar bath, very comfortable. Flat screen tv worked well and the wifi was very strong. Bed was super comfy. Mini fridge in room which had a small selection of fizzy drinks, milk, and a small kitkat(home of rowntrees) nice touch. Also worth a mention were the electric blinds, 1 sheer and 1 black out which gave us complete privacy from across the street at the touch of a button. They offer a shuttle bus in normal times but due to covid restrictions was unavailable, but the 10-15 walk in to the centre wasn't an issue.

Our stay wasn't long enough...!!! 😁😁 I would definitely stay again, without a doubt.

Check-in : Process was easy, secure and hassle free. Property : Its a beautiful property, well kept and tastefully decorated. It has a mix of both english and oriental themes which we really liked. Room : Everything about the room was astonishing. The décor was delightful and had a warm feeling to it. You can actually do a full photoshoot inside the room itself, it was that good. It had all the amenities you could ask for iron/ironing board, super silent fridge, drier and the list is long. The fridge had a bar of chocolate, milk and couple of soda pops, all complimentary. Lighting was plenty and the room was spotless. I personally loved the UHD 4K TV with netflix, such a great thing to have when the weather outside is not to your liking. Bathroom : Very modern and practical. And squeaky clean! All the toiletries were good quality and abundant. The toilet seat was below the down slope area of the roof which is a little tight for a 6'3" guy like myself but nothing to complaint about. Breakfast : Cracking breakfast, I really looked forward to it and enjoyed it a lot. The taste was amazing and portion size was abundant even for a 250 lbs guy like me :) Host : Mr. Tony is a great host and human being. Very kind and welcoming. Even though we are new to the country, we never felt like it. We had a quality conversation with him and wished we had more time :) On top of it, the day we were checking out, our car started behaving funny and refused to leave the parking area. Mr. Tony went the extra mile by allowing us to leave the car parked, calling the RSA to check if they can come on a new year's day and offered us to stay in the same room for the night. Thankfully, the car came to terms and we were away but we will never forget his efforts and his kindness. We wish him all the luck in this world.

This is our second stay at this little gem of a hotel as you enter the front door the first thing you notice are the beautiful ,unique Christmas decorations , we stayed in a different room this year but both equally as beautifully furnished,immaculately clean and attention to detail second to none .breakfast superb and John the owner very welcoming. Can't fault this hotel look forward to next year and staying in one of the other themed rooms . Perfect location too you can walk into York or hop on a bus which is located across the road and literally takes about five mins and drops you back almost outside the hotel which is ideal .

Loved the themed rooms,we had room 3 Rococo King, very grand feel about it, nice large room with window seats,and the dressing table area was great for lighting,and lots of mirrors,loved the automatic blind shutters,also the bathroom,and underfloor heating, everything was well thought out,the breakfast and reception area was spotless and very clean food,we will definitely stay again when we have a weekend in York,only a ten minute walk into the city.Excellent service from Tony,and loved the app that he developed too,you can control room temperature, order breakfast,etc.

The minute I opened the door to the room it was just WOW, my husband agreed I’d picked an excellent place. Ordering your breakfast via the app was brilliant because you can order exactly what you want, also controlling the air con from my phone was brilliant. If I could give 11/10 for how comfy the bed was then I would, I had the best nights sleep ever. The location was terrific, literally 10 minutes walk into the City Centre. Fantastic
