Friendly welcome from all the staff, nothing too much trouble, a slightly earlier breakfast than the time advertised to enable me to catch my steam train.. For dinner chef accommodated my vegetarian requests, I've eaten in places where asking for an omelette was too much of an inconvenience. The food was so filling I didn't have room for the Bread and Butter pudding I had set my eyes on! The pub is very cosy and comfortable and my room was spacious and overlooked fields, so the views were lovely. The buses from Aislaby run hourly, and cover plenty of attractions if you don't feel like driving.

Nothing not to like when your custom is valued and you are staying in such a lovely place

Lovely stay at The Forge, Room was excellent (Room1) bed and pillows very comfortable. Room was spotless. Staff all very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was superb with poached eggs cooked to perfection :) We had 2 evening meals during or 3 night stay, Steak pie & especially the home cooked chips were the highlight. Bar is good with reasonably priced beers. The Forge is a couple of miles outside of Whitby in a small quiet village, (Aislaby), so perfect if you want a quiet couple of nights. It also has a good bus service through the village if you wish to leave the car.

5 minutes away from Whitby's Park and ride, makes this an excellent place to stay if visiting Whitby. Sandsend only 10 minutes drive away, lovely little beach away from the often busier Whitby. We travelled up the coast as Runswick Bay and Saltburn are all easily accessible from here. Room had a real country pub feel to it.

As the room is built into the eaves, there's a beam thar runs across the room that it's easy to bang your head on. Me and hubby both did this, even when we'd commented on having to be careful not to bang our heads!

I like location set in a small village three miles out from Whitby. Are room window looked out onto a field full of sheep eating grass very relaxing to watch good parking and full English breakfast.

Bed and pillows poor condition gave me a bad neck.very small TV in room 20 inch couldn't watch many channels poor aireal connection. We looked at the menu for an evening meal was surprised how expensive meals were decided to eat out in general I would say the room needs spending on.

Friendly greeting by Costa, very helpful. All staff very nice and cheerful. Breakfast was very good with quality ingredients and didn't skimp on portions. Quiet location, however, only ten minutes from Whitby town centre.

I did request a "ground floor" room, however, was allocated a top floor room which was at the top of many narrow steps which I struggled with. Room 6 to be avoided as it has low concrete beams which are head height which I can testify are not very forgiving. Perhaps some kind of Soft covering could be applied to them.

Lovely stay. Room was comfortable, really clean, and had everything we needed. The staff are absolutely lovely from the waiting on at breakfast to the guys behind the bar in the evening. Breakfast was delicious as were the evening meals in the pub. Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay were easily accessible from the location and the area itself was so quiet which made for a good night's sleep!

Only a minor point but we arrived back on the 2nd night of our stay at 645pm and couldn't park because the car park was busy with customers for the pub. Understandable but as a b&b customer I'd expect to be able to park somewhere when returning back from a day out, might be worth reserving an area for hotel customers to park if possible.

The staff were lovely, even prior to arriving as I needed to arrange an earlier check in due to staying in Whitby for a wedding. They were very accommodating and we appreciated all their help. The rooms were lovely and spacious what we were given, which was just what we needed to quickly get changed into our wedding outfits. The location was perfect to get to sneaton castle as it was only 5 mins in a taxi. Breakfast was lovely the next menu. I would definitely stay here again.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff , you could adjust breakfast to how ever you wanted it in the scope of what was offered . Omelette , toast , cereal , full English etc .

The location was great just a mile to Whitby park and ride bus service , then in Whitby you got North Yorkshire moor railway , 199 steps and abbey with micro brewery nearby and loads of chip shops and things to see and arcades. Then there Eden’s camp museum near Malton all about Ww2 etc . Thornton le dale is a nice drop in , lovely village where bangers for cash filmed then you can slip into Scarborough a nice sea side town . Staites and Robin hoods bay are worth a look as well 2 nice villages . Then the Groatland where heart beat was filmed

The position of The Forge is perfect for exploring the whole Whitby area being central to Staithes and Robin Hood's Bay. We arrived late evening and were welcomed by the young barman who showed us to our room. We joined the locals for a drink and enjoyed a leisurely chat. The room had everything we needed and overlooked the sheep in the field behind the pub and the sea was just beyond that. Breakfast both mornings was delicious with a good choice.

The location for the Pullman dining train and Whitby is great. It's arround 10 minutes of so either way. The village is lovely and quiet and room 2 has a lovely view from the windows. The room was bright and clean and the staff were friendly.

We decided to have an evening meal in the pub below and I was disappointed by the lasagne, it was very dry, had no taste and not worth the money, which was a shame. The bed in room 2 is really low, I'd say not much more than 1ft from the floor so just a heads up.
