The room was a deluxe double spacious but carpet a little marked & toilet door hard to open & close Room 107 … very hot whilst there a small window & fan did little to cool room … also someone has thrown bacon & cloth outside of bedroom window on roof cleaners did not remove ?? It was modern but parts of the Inn needed a deep clean & new plants in pots on the roof looked dead & although staff were lovely had to go to bar to order our food as staff hung around bar on several nights … upstairs sun terrace looks outdated with plastic leaves as decoration with music from speakers & fake grass on the floor needs update in line with modern hotel wouldn’t rate as 5 star definitely 3 + as no room service , no Netflix as mentioned in what’s in your room only normal free view channels & you pay for movies & no room telephone or bath robes. We did however feel relaxed as the terrace was beautiful & lovely view although carpark looked unfinished with no lighting at night time.

Air conditioning fitted for temperature control & comfort.

My husband is in the middle of intensive chemo treatment for leukemia. We had a small window of time where he had recovered enough to go somewhere and it coincided with the beautiful, unexpected weather. As we had to cancel two holidays this year we decided to splash out on the Avalon Suite (we stayed in it in March for a birthday night but couldn't appreciate it properly as my husband was unwell and hadn't been diagnosed at this point). The Avalon Suite is beautiful with a four poster, lounge, huge bathroom with TV over the bath! However the best part is the sun balcony which is huge and has a hot tub with sun loungers and a sofa. We spent 3 days sunbathing and enjoying the peace, without needing to mix too much with others (in case of infection). It was perfect. Also a shout out to the two lovely cleaning ladies, I am sorry I don't know your names but you were so kind and helpful and such a bubbly friendly pair, thank you.

Wow, this is a wonderful hotel, and it is so well and professionally run and so nicely presented. The general vibe, the decor, the wonderful, helpful staff, the food quality, the cleanliness, the general thought that has gone into making this such a comfortable place to stay, how welcome our dog was made to feel in every way, easy parking, the seamless billing process; all these things and more made this a stay we will always remember and recommend.

Hesitating to find fault, but as the beds are very firm, we oldies would greatly benefit from a mattress topper and some fuller pillows for support. I'm sure these things wouldn't be a problem to younger guests, but if the management would consider providing the items mentioned it would make this hotel absolutely perfect in our eyes.

We had a marvellous two night break at Crossways. We arrived and checked into our four poster room and found a bottle of chilled Prosecco waiting for us, as it was my husband’s birthday. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with a sofa and seating area. Bathroom had both a shower and a large jacuzzi style bath. Breakfasts were very good with a large choice of options. There are plenty of areas to sit to have breakfast or dinner and an outside bar area and rooftop bar. We ate one night in the restaurant. Service was a little haphazard but the staff were very friendly and apologetic. Food was to a good standard. All of the staff throughout our stay were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is a little isolated from the larger towns of Glastonbury and Wells but that makes it a little bit more special. We would definitely recommend the hotel for a break to this area.

very dog friendly as we could eat our dinner in the very comfortable bar or patio area which over looked the torr. breakfast was great and superb cooked breakfasts and a good buffet to choose from. the location is wonderful so scenic and quiet so you can really feel the escape of being in the country. the rooms were decorated very nicely and great space for us to relax in. car park was big and literally by the entrance so not far to walk with luggage. menu was great and had superb options for vegetarians which is always a bonus

nothing everything was great

Free parking was attached to the hotel and enough slots available. The check in was very well prepared. The personnel was very kind and assisting throughout. The room was really well sized and well equipped. The beds were really good! It was very clean! The breakfast was pretty much ok; for sure we didn't need to start the day starving. The breakfast is composed of two parts: a serve yourself buffet including toast, jam, honey and Nutella, a variety of muesli and flakes, plain yoghurt and a selection of fresh and dry fruits as well as a variety of pastries, incl. Croissants ("all you can eat") and full page a la carte selection of different egg preparations incl. Full English Breakfast. Dining in the restaurant was good too.

Actually there was not much to complain about. Just some room for improvement: Despite the things that are already included in the breakfast, some cheese and cold cuts were desperately missed as serving cutlery was missed too. All toast had to be grabbed from the box by hand. But don't worry too much, I would recommend this hotel to friends and family if they intent to visit the area.

The breakfast and dinner we had was excellent. For breakfast you could ask for what you wanted, so you didn’t have to have items eg hash browns and beans that you knew you wouldn’t eat, saves on food waste. The rooms were very comfortable, with everything you could need.

This was nothing to do with the hotel, just the location. We found due to the very narrow roads, which had lots of pot holes all over the road, especially at the sides of the roads lots filled with water, (like most places have) and as we didn’t know the roads, we decided to get a taxi when we went out for dinner as we didn’t fancy driving along them in the dark..

Staff very friendly, especially with our jack russell, his own sausage at breakfast! Good views across the levels, food great choice and plentiful. Easy parking. Decor throughout was good. Short distance from Wells,Glastonbury and Shepton mallet. Comfortable bed and large size room. Generally a well kept and inviting interior, bar and restaurant areas. 👌

Outside area was not very inviting, could do with landscaping, as it is its a bit untidy and scruffy. Didn't like the noise in the morning from the car park area as its used for school minibuses and parents dropping off and picking up children, far too noisy at 8 am till 8.45. Charge for pet to stay was more than expected, compared to other hotels we have stayed with our dog, most places do not charge or a very small charge. Shower area was not very clean, rust on the bottom of the tiled area.

The room was comfortable and clean, with everything you needed There were good choices for breakfast but the tea and coffee was from a self service machine (although they did have a proper toaster not a conveyor belt style). We didn’t have dinner but the menu had a very good range and the restaurant had a nice looking bar! Beds were very comfortable, as were the pillows (not overstuffed!)

Self service tea and coffee. Beware! Our sat Nav took us through Bristol from the M5 (through a bus gate on Bridgwater Road - we await the fine! Beware! ). It then took us along miles of single track farm lanes. Whilst the property is on a single track road and all approaches are such, it is probably less than a mile from the A361 which is a much better route.

It is a little 'out in the sticks' but surprisingly large on arrival. Reception was very helpful and pleasant. The room (4 poster) was massive! Beautifully presented and really clean. Everything was as hoped for. Dinner on the first evening was lovely. The roof terrace is lovely and the views from it are marvellous. We also had The hair/beauty salon team were helpful and fitted my wife in despite being busy. A really nice few days

It was all really good. The roads to get to the hotel are challenging, hardly your fault, so overall nothing to say.
