Location was great. Parking was tight and the host went to great lengths to minimise this issue so personally I didn't find it to be an actual prob and def 5* on that. Thanks Paul! Well placed for all the town's facilities too! Brek was great, perfectly cooked and all the toast + marm you need in the conservatory overlooking the Tavy. Room was comfortable, simple but clean, with WiFi, and a nice roomy shower - all at a v nice price!! Happy days, if I ever need a local billet again, I'll look no further than the Kingfisher. Seriously. 😁👍.

I don't actually count the limited parking as a genuine prob as there's lotsa ways round it tbh, so loved it all.

I arrived at Kingfisher Cottage on my bike after a very wet journey. Paul, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful - he helped me put away my bike in his secure garage and sort out my wet clothing so that it all got dry for the next day. Paul was very welcoming, helping me to settle in and suggesting where I could get an evening meal in Tavistock. It was only a short walk (a few minutes) into the centre of Tavistock. The property was very clean and comfortable and the facilities were good. Paul's breakfast was very enjoyable and set me up for the day ahead.

Nothing.

Superb location right next to the fast-flowing River Tavy where apparently you can see both otters and kingfisher. Slight drawback with location is fairly busy road outside which means driving onto and reversing from parking spaces can be tricky. The landlord Paul and his wife Carla were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast in the conservatory was superb; all products locally sourced, eggs done to perfection on soft white bread and fabulous coffee. Would make a return visit.

Room was slightly on the small size but it is a B and B not a hotel. Not keen on the idea of a bathroom not attached to the bedroom, although we didn't have to share it and the shower was wonderful.

Comfortable room and beds with a pretty view of the river. Convenient location and excellent breakfast with dietary preferences easily accommodated. The host was very knowledgeable and helpful with good suggestions for places to eat and walk during our stay.

Parking was slightly awkward, and the proximity of a roundabout made getting out onto the road a bit tricky for us, although other people may not have had difficulty. However, we did find a solution by our second morning, so this would not stop us from booking another stay.

Paul & Carla were excellent hosts, all our needs and requests were accommodated with a friendly attitude and efficiency. They were amazing with our Dachshund who had come with us on this trip. Breakfast was lovely and we couldn't resist having a cooked up English every day we were there. Our room was comfy and had everything we needed. There was a hair dryer, TV, fan, mirror. Heated towel rail in the bathroom. The downstairs living area was a nice space to relax in when we had time too. Has a comfy home vibe.

Room 3 outlooks onto the main road and is totally sound proofed by triple glazing, the bedroom is a reasonable size with a wall mounted flat screen tv. The host is a friendly guy and serves up a super breakfast in the conservatory which overlooks the river. Would be happy to stay again.

The duvet is too high a tog for a comfortable sleep and the wash basin in the shower room is really only suitable to wash hands, there was a face cloth provided which helps overcomes the difficulty with washing. Parking is a squeeze.

The hosts, Paul & Carla, went out of their way to ensure that our stay was excellent. The property was very clean and tidy, with comfortable beds and a lovely bathroom. (The provision of bathrobes for our step across the landing from our room to the bathroom was a nice touch). Full English breakfast was great - with an alternative to cows' milk being supplied without question (& also provided in our room) - being eaten in the conservatory overlooking the River Tavy. (But the kingfishers were elusive!). Very close to the town centre and all required facilities. Highly recommended.

Fantastic breakfast. Tea and coffee in the room was very welcome. Heated towel rail in our shower room meant that we had warm towels in the morning - lovely! We liked being able to see and hear the river next to the cottage. The cottage was charming and our hosts were very friendly and kind.

Some carpets downstairs were badly stained, which marred the look of the cottage. The parking space was very small, but our car is small, so we managed to fit in, but a bigger vehicle would not.

The property was perfect location, 6 minutes from town centre. We had a twin room. It was small but ideal as we were out all day. The breakfast was wonderful. Lots of choices. The hosts were so friendly, very knowledgeable regarding the area. Nothing was too much trouble. Perfect stay, if in that area again I would definitely stay there again.

Our bathroom was lovely but was across the landing.

Very friendly and welcoming host, as a single traveller it is lovely to be made to feel so welcomed. My room was large and had a super stocked tea tray. Bathroom was clean and tidy, as was the whole property. Breakfast was lovely, good products cooked really well, with ample of fruit, yoghurt and cereals to choose from. Can't wait for a return visit.

Nothing to say as it all more than met my expectations.
