What a magnificent place! The room was beyond brilliant, the bed was super comfortable. The room, bathroom... the entire property was immaculate. The staff were welcoming, friendly, going above and beyond at every interaction. We didn't get to try the breakfast as we had to get moving, but it looked marvellous. An excellent spot to go to the Glen Morangie distillery from. Highly recommended.

The long walk to the room with bags was a hike for me and my dodgy knee, but I found the ground floor shortcut on the way out. Other than that personal issue - I could have mentioned it for example, I cannot fault the property, the service, or the staff in any way.

Hidden about 45 minutes north of Inverness, this hotel was a bit of a surprise booking on our journey, and it didn't disappoint. With a lovely feel and look to the place, and fantastic staff who took care of us. After opening the bar just for us, and saying hello to Lucky the (three legged) hotel cat, we retired to our room where we had a lovely night, followed by a hearty breakfast in the morning.

The only things I can fault is that the price for one night was a bit higher than initially anticipated, but it was a room booked last minute so I can hardly hold a grudge, and the experience once there more than made up for it with the fantastic service and grounds. Beyond that, the hotel has a sister hotel just down the road, so at this time dinner is only served at that other hotel, meaning if you haven't eaten, it'll require a fair walk or short drive.

A classical setting surrounded by a nice park and hosted by a very friendly staff, what else does one need ! From Mansfield Castle there are plenty thing to do in the environment. A two or three day stay easily fills a program for sightseeing, golf and walking tours. Diner facilities in associated Morangie hotel satisfactory too. The hotel runs it own bar with all the whisky brands and a knowledgeable staff to advise.

There were no items to complain about, even the weather was helping to make our stay pleasant.

This review relates to the sister hotel The Morangie House Hotel where we were given a Superior Room and some complimentary drinks to compensate for the inconvenience. The house was impressive enough although I cannot compare to The Mansfield Castle. The upgraded superior room was very nice with complementary water (even changed one of the bottles of still for a sparkling when requested) and biscuits with the tea/coffee in the room. It was a large room, comfortable bed, good en suite facilities. Evening meal was tasty and plentiful, poor selection of beer though (no local draught or bottles). Excellent selection for breakfast.

Unfortunately we were not able to stay at the Mansfield Castle due to work being done (due to a water leak we were told) and were accommodated in their sister hotel, The Morangie Hotel in Tain

Comfortable room, friendly helpful staff

General Manager named John used a piece of paper to copy my credit card details. This is not acceptable, it was not secure and is open to fraud. I have no guarantee or reassurance on who had visibility of my personal credit card details or how they were used. None of the other hotels I visit ever ask for these details. There was no need for these details as I was paying my bill the next day, which would have been paid using my pin. No BBC TV channels Disappointed that it did not have an on site restaurant.

Lovely venue, very obliging and generous staff. Room was great. Couldn’t have been more helpful. Helped arrange dinner and supplies transport. Well stocked bar showcasing whiskeys of the broader region. Breakfast was sumptuous. Staff were quite remarkable/ kept checking in- really understand a service culture. It would be a pity that a place with such character may not be sustained in the future due to mounting maintenance costs. It’s a great place which deserves clientele who appreciate it, we’ll be back if we can,

due to a rowdy wedding in an outdoors tent, we were moved away from the celebration & given the Tower Suite. upon venturing up to the tower of the castle we discovered a really charming 2 bedroom apartment with a huge bathroom with heated floors, including a claw foot tub! the fun part was the private sitting area at the top of winding stairs from our suite. we had the whole tower to ourselves & felt like the lord & lady of the manor for a night. breakfast in the dining room was well done

bed was a bit hard & pillows too soft for my taste; could use some dusting to get resident spider webs

Full Scottish breakfast . Served quickly and cheerfully. The hotel is of the older origin and style which suits us but nonetheless attends to all the usual modern requirements being clean, with hot water, heating in room and nice grounds to walk our dog.

Unnecessarily bad and unfair reviews from whingers on review sights, who seem to have forgotten that all hotels have struggled to survive through two years of covid pandemic.

Beautiful, grand place. Enjoyed gracious and knowledgeable barman Gordon (who remembers everyone's names and room numbers) in an atmosphere harkening back to a more graceful age. Best beds (the first actual pillow top comfort). Super quiet! Decent breakfast: Croissants, jam, yogurt, vegan sausage, beans, fresh sauteed mushrooms.

As a B&B, they served a decent breakfast, but we avoided the canned fruit. No hash browns. Expected better. Kind of laughed at the route to our room. Up stairs, around a couple of halls, down some stairs. Crazy and yet fun. Pot holes in the driveway. Not a big deal, but doesn't make a good first impression.

The staff were exceptionally pleasant, friendly and helpful making for a relaxing stay. The room was a little dated but had all that was needed and was comfortable. We appreciated the opening windows and quiet location. Dinner exceeded expectations. There was a good selection of beautifully cooked tasty Scottish produce. Breakfast was also good, with a combination of buffet / continental and cooked food. The porridge was good.

Bathroom was a little dated and the different levels were a bit challenging for anyone with impaired mobility. Would have preferred to have 2 keys for the room but this was a minor issue.
