The Ship is an atmospheric, traditional English inn with exposed beams and a low ceiling, right in the heart of a bustling little fishing village, with narrow roads and adjoining buildings. The pub is busy and lively in the evening. Everyone working at The Ship is very friendly and they all go out of their way to help and make you feel welcome. The pub serves various real ales and the food is very good (not the pre-prepared and microwaved fare offered by many pubs). The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, with extras such as ironing equipment available.

There was nothing we didn't like, with the minor exception of a tap that wouldn't turn off properly. The room would have been stuffy without the window wide open, but that does inevitably mean a lot of overnight noise from seagulls (when do the blessed things sleep?) and early morning street noise from deliveries etc. We regarded those noises as integral to the atmosphere of a wonderful village-centre location, but maybe not everyone would feel the same.

The Ship Inn is right in the centre of Mevagissey, so is perfect for exploring the town on foot. The breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bar has plenty of character.

There is no parking at the Ship Inn, so you will need to leave your car 5mins walk away in the large car park, which charges £4 for overnight parking till 10am. Being in the centre of town, the Ship In is not in a particularly quite location. The streets in Mevagissey are quite narrow, if you intend to drive the to Ship Inn to drop off bags or passengers. This situation is made clear on the website.

My husband, son and I stayed for 2 nights, the location by the harbour was great, we had a walk around and it is beautiful. We had breakfast and booked a table for 1 dinner, my husband said it was one of the best breakfasts, especially the bacon! The staff were efficient, friendly and helpful.

There isn't much we didn't like and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay however my husband didn't like the drive he has a problem with hills. We also found the noise from the seagulls during the night very hard!

The food was to a reasonable standard, the staff were very helpful, especially Ebony who was very tentative to our needs and requests. The room was to a good standard. The Inn was dog friendly and accommodating to our needs with our three Labrador’s. We will definitely use the Inn again when we are in Mevagissey.

unfortunately there is no car park at the Inn and being in the central location of Mevagissey it’s noisy in an early morning with delivery traffic to the local amenities.

Excellent location in an iconic old inn. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food is very good and good value for money. I had the best fishcakes I've ever tasted and my wife's crab salad was brilliant. The bar has a cosy traditional atmosphere with well kept local ales. The breakfast is on point with a choice of full English and different plus vegetarian options. I had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toasted muffins for example.... delicious.

Not anything I can think of.

Friendly welcome from the team, perfect location. Bed was comfortable, room was turned down during our two night stay which was pleasantly unexpected. Good food and drink.

The room did get quite warm and there wasn’t a fan in the room. However, opening the windows did the trick for us and we were able to sleep comfortably.

The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was excellent and bar meals to a good standard. The location was convenient to the shops and central to places we wanted to go.

The room was very small. Only room for one chair with the wardrobe shut . It was on the top floor but we liked the view of the street however we were shocked how much noise the recycling collection made at 5 in the morning.

The breakfast was excellent with good choices. The Ship is an ancient fishing inn seeped in history. It is not a modern soulless hotel, so expect creaky floorboards , cranky water pressure, and low ceilings. However, that's half the fun in staying in a place like this. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff were very pleasant, and made our stay very enjoyable.. The Ship is right in the middle of Mevagissy, so the position could not be better

We arrived in the middle of a heatwave, so the rooms were very hot despite fans being provided. Wj-fi is only available in the public area and not in the room. If you are a light sleeper beware! the pesky seagulls are making noise all night. The hotel kindly supplied earplugs, which were needed. Of course, this isn't the hotels fault. The hotel has no parking but if you are staying a few days then I suggest the Willow Car park as the enter the village. You can "negotiate" a price with the guys who work there.

Just spent a fantastic week at the Ship Inn, which we used as our base to explore Cornwall. We were made to feel more than welcome by Di, Mel and team also by the locals too .Nothing too much trouble. The room was clean with a comfy bed and on suite bathroom. All meals we had including breakfast were delicious and beer excellent . This cosy Olde Wolde Inn is in the centre of Mevagissey so yes, there a bit of noise at night and early mornings but it had no detrimental effect on our holiday. Loved it and so did our dog, thoroughly reccomend.

Nothing to dislike.

just a really nice town, liked it there nice old building too unless your suitcases are really huge don't try to get there by car, better park in the outskirts or in a parking and have a walk

it's an inn in a centrally located period building with all its pros and cons if you're after ideal cleanness, very straight walls, spacious rooms with high ceiling and no noise at all, it's probably not for you
